Episode Summary
Ladies and gentlemen, meet Tim Wallace. This episode started with a lot of "Who's that guy sitting next to Matt?" and ended with a rousing chorus of "We're not worthy!" as the Grid live audience got to know this UK-based automotive photographer and listen to his down-to-earth approach to photography that has taken him to some amazing heights in just four short years. This episode is non-stop inspiration and insight (with a few laughs along the way). Even if photographing cars is not your thing, you'll get a lot from watching Tim. Now, get on that bike and ride!

Great show!
This was my favorite episode. Though my interest in cars is just getting from point A to B, I found Tim to be inspiring and helpful. And yes he makes those cars look amazing!
Great show, Great tips from Tim and very down to earth, spoken like a true Northerner , Brian Clough would have been proud.
Love this week show, Tim had some good advice for up coming photogs. Keep up the good work.
the best episode ever
Thanks for all the info! Wonderful show.
This was a amazing show and so inspiring!
Thanks a lot.
Martin
Great show, as always!
Great show with a great photographer!
Great Show!!
Tim’s shoots rock! Can’t wait to see the training vid’s. Do you have a timeline of when they will be published?
Really great show, very interesting topics.
Hey guys! Another great show! I really enjoy listening to all the comments and advice. Keep it up!
Great show Tim & Matt – nice to have some British representation on the show at last and make it a truly international show and not just the US & France – avec Mademoiselle Masse
Look forward to seeing the training video’s online.
Great show!!
The dictionary “english – english” above is amazing hehehehehe (don’t worry, english isn’t the only language this happens).
Tim’s way of putting things is realistic, on the one hand, but greatly encouraging, on the other hand. Thanks Tim!
“Shoot, shoot and shoot. Format the card and shoot it all over again”. Best quote ever.
BTW, on gear, according to Nikon, it’s all on the gear, isn’t it? OOOHH yeah, they apologized for that unfortunate declaration … MEOW!!!
Great show! Thank you very much!!!
I agree with Tim Wallace that the best way to blend different exposures of the same scene is to just put them on different layers and use masking to select the parts of each that are exposed correctly. I find that with HDR software, the result has an artificial candyland look. Excellent episode.
This was a tough listen
Great show, a lot of understated gems.
Tim doesn’t have an accent – well not much of one for a Yorkshireman – you guys have the accents.
Great show. Loved the photos and looking forward to seeing the courses on Kelby Training!
Thanks, this was one of the most entertaining and informative episodes – although I am not in automobile phototgraphy – maybe I will after I have seen the classes
Love the show! Tim have you ever been on Top Gear in the UK?
Fabulous. Episode. Fabulous autos
Excellent show, time just flew by.
Great show as always, guys! Love the auto pics!
Love Mr. Wallace’s work. Great guest.

One of my favorite shows so far! Time to go format my card and get on my bike!
Yet another good show – thanks!
What a great show, Thanks Matt for the good interview and Tim for breaking it down to the basics, its what is in your head that counts.
Great show. One of the best.
Another fun show
great show, best info this year.
What a great guy! I have been watching his site for some time now. Great work.
Great Episode! I much prefer these episodes to the shows where you guys complain about how people react to things on the internet. Very informative and inspirational show.
Great show. Scott and Matt do an excellent job but having a successful, creative photographer on is a fantastic learning experience. Keep up the good work and continue to have interesting photographers participate on The Grid Live.
Great show, Thanks Tim & Matt – as always I enjoy all of the discussions!
great show
Love the show
Love the hhow
Does anyone know why I can no more download the show on my ipod? I get “unsupported video format” when I want to look. Same problem with “photoshop user tv” by the way.
Did anyone have the same problem and a solution?
By the way always a great show you guys bring! Big thumbs up to all the crew!
Excellent show.
Nice to hear some solid tips from a very down-to-earth guy who knows what he’s talking about!
Oh yeah, and Matt is always good too, of course.
The Grid just gets better and better with every show! It’s now even multilingual – American, French AND English!
Thanks Guys!
Really entertaining show! The best one in a while, really enjoyed.
Thank you | Thank you | Thank you | Thank you |
Awesome show. Thank you for Tim
He rocks
Great guest & discussion. The show just keeps getting better. Thanks.
Hey Matt and Tim
Good show, Good topics,Had Fun watching as usual!
This was bugging me all day – as a Top Gear UK fan, here’s a British English Translator for Matt:
Torch = Flashlight
Lorry = Truck / Rig
Transit Van = work van (Ford Transit)
Motorway = Highway
Junction = Intersection
Great show
Like the ride a bike analogy (but true)
Looking forward to Tim’s classes
What a great show and guest.
Great job Matt
Great show . Really got some good inspiration to shoot cars again. It’s been awhile.
Tim is the man!
Great show guys ,, thank u so much
Enjoying the show very much!
I have been following Tim’s work for a couple of years nows. Absolutely the best. Can’t wait for the Kelby videos.
Wow! Such a good show, I didn’t want it to end. Love Tim. Thanks guys (and gals).
What are the chances of making the videos available for download? Having the audio is nice for when I’m driving but I’d love to be able to throw the video on my phone and watch it as I have time throughout my work day.
I can stream it on my Android phone but the cellular signal isn’t the best in my office so I get a lot of dropouts / buffering
Thanks!

Smashingly fabuloso show mate. Love to tip back a pint with you. OK enough of my pretend UK rap. Thanks for the tips and interesting show. I wonder if there are many female car shooters or admirers. Automobiles seem to be such a MANLY thing and resonate with us guys. I’d like to see a woman’s view on the subject.
I don’t need this weeks prizes, but will BEG again. Please return to Hawaii for a seminar. It cost us an arm and 70-200 VR to travel to the mainland. I know Scott probably has “been there, done that” so how about Matt with LR or RC and something for a wide audience. I’ll fly from Kona to Hnl for the day. alohadios, Jock
Cool topic. I’ll think about it the next time I shoot a car for sure.
so the first show there is a UK guest and I’m stuck at a shoot and not waving the British flag. Inspiring show yet again
Terrific show! Never heard of Tim before (sorry), but he’s great!! Love his stuff and now diligently following.
Correction… it was a Challenger!
I put up some BTS shots on my Google+
Great topic, Great guest but who the hell is Laurie. LOL
Great show. Fun discussions.
Great Show.
