I know you guys sometimes feature an exceptional photographer. Full disclosure here… this is a friend of mine. Her work is exceptional! She has a unique way of looking at things (check out the close-up stuff).
Anyway, keep up the great work on the show! You’re fast approaching 300 (and you don’t look a day over 100….)
I have been using Lightroom 3 for over a year and a half and never even knew about the crop overlays. Thank you!!!
I recently got the invition for the photoshop training in milwaukee, and i wish i could make it but cant afford it right now. Hopefully next time there is a training i will able to make it.
Hi
I did miss pointy choppy, thanks for the re-Pete.
Great tips this week!
292…WOW, getting closer to 300. Hard to imagine. So glad you do these shows and tutorials. I always learn so much!
Pointy Choppy !! hahaha
As usual a fun and informative episode…
thanks
It would be great if the screen showed what you guys are talking about while you are doing something on screen, rather than the face of the demonstrator. It is a bit disconcerting when you really want to see how something is being done, and the focus is not on the screen. I have learnt so much from your 291 episodes, yes sad isn’t it that I have watched every single one… Keep them coming.
Hope you guys didn’t break my software DVDs! Hope I win! Oh, I love today’s tips! Nice stuff!
Another show with great tips and tutorials! Matt, take out the bird; RC, get some WD40. Corey looks just as good in 2D. Pete, getting better all the time. Scott, you’ve built and empire and are still just ‘one of the guys’. I look forward to seeing you each week. Awesome!
Nice show I even enjoyed Pete’s tip. Well done.
Sweet! nice tutorials.
Pete, you need to wear a Texas shirt as Dave wears a Canadian shirt. lol
Great tips, thanks guys.
NO 3D!!!
Great tips!
Great show.
good job as usual
Great series of tips!
hey guys, always good to see you especially when there are some tips about RAW.
Great Tips this week!
The only thing that would have made this show better? The announcement that the Light It, Shoot It, Retouch It Tour was coming to Columbus, Ohio…
I always enjoy the show. Thanks
Great fun as always, guys. You should give away a subscription to kelbytraining
Seriously though, I wouldn’t mind a copy of FocalPoint.
Benjamin
Thanks guys! All of you had very useful tips on this show
Love it
I loved this show and you guys are truly Photoshop Gods!
Hey Scott, I love the story of the mean looking guy… I wish you got a photo of him all giddy.
Fun show, really liked Scott’s walk-through photo retouch techniques. Cheers fellas…
Awesome show, new to photography and photoshop. I enjoy your show very informative with some humor….
as always another amazing show. I thought Pete was going to drop the dvd’s and then bam what does he do
Great tip Corey! You Rock!
Hats off RC. Do you know (and “Yes” i am sure you do) how seldom any of the other geometrical compositional elements besides “Rule of Thirds” are mentioned? I have watched ALL of the Kelby Training, belong to several photo forums, and other media. Mention of the other “Golden” rations (spiral, diagonal, etc) are practically absent.
The Rule of Thirds (even with the caveat of just being a “guideline”) is so over emphasized that it seems to be limiting creativity.
I would really like to see a thoughtful presentation of the concept of the Golden Ration and it’s effect on harmony and tension in a photo.
Since the guides are in Lightroom, how about including a little discussion to help expand your viewers use of these concepts in their photos?
Great show again. Like it. I never saw by myself the hints in LR given by RC. Could prove very useful. Thanks.
Hey, we can’t have an ‘unnamed episode’! How about ‘incongruous’, if you haven’t already used this one.
kk
Hi RC.
I just watched Ep 292 PS Users TV. Left a comment but don’t think it posted. Anyway, wanted to suggest you do a segment on the use of the Golden Ratios (and clarify that the Rule of Thirds is just a simplification of one aspect of the Golden Ratios), i.e. spiral, diagonal, arc, angle, etc. While you touched on it in Ep 292, the various geometrical aspects of composition according to the Golden Ratio, let alone the concept behind it, is practically never mentioned.
I have watched All of the Kelby Training and nada. Many photo forums, nada. Several photo “how to” books, not there either. Yet everybody jumps on photos that are not composed by Rule of Thirds. If somebody (you?) point out how the use or deviation from the Ratios effects harmony and tension it would go a long way in helping people be more creative rather than what I have observed as stifled by the Rule of Thirds (even with the caveat that “it is really just a guideline”. By way of example: If I wanted to add harmony to a scene, let’s say of a snake, I would max out my use of the Ratios, i.e.. rectangular image (canvas), subject placed in the grid intersection, etc. However, If I wanted to increase the tension I would place the snake’s head or eye dead center on a square canvas. Neither is “right” or “wrong”; “better’ or “worse” just more “tense” or more “harmonious”.
Anyway just a thought. Love your stuff and your approach to everything you have presented.
Take Care
George

Hi,
After making the ACR adjustments Scott demonstrated in the January Potoshop User TV episode, would it be superfulous to use such plugins as, say, Nik Software’s Viveza 2 or Color Efex Pro 4 to add tonal contrast or additional sharpening?
Thanks,
Wayne

Great Fun Informative Show keep it up
Love the tip from RC! You guys are amazing.
Good show. I guess I will have to use adjustment brushes more often as they are faster and non-destructive. Honestly, I will have to review this one a couple of times as there is good information passed on by everyone.
hi great show!
Hi,guys!
Really dug Corey’s tip this week. I always love those techniques that aren’t that complicated but you would never think of doing yourself. My first move would have been to paint the grunge texture on to the text. Always appreciate the show. Thanks, guys.
Juggjer naut
