Episode Summary
Ever since I first started using the new sliders in the Basic panel in Lightroom 4, I was hooked. So I started out to record a video on how I use them but realized I use them in different ways for different photos. Then I realized, there were more things I wanted to do to this photo. Before I knew it, I had a full before and after video using Photoshop and all. You gotta love it when your video starts taking over right? :) Anyway, my main goal here is to show you the Basic panel sliders in Lightroom 4 and just how powerful moving 4-5 sliders can be for your photo. In fact, you'll see that most of the work is done before we ever leave Lightroom to Photoshop. I hope you enjoy!

Hi Matt,
You say that there’s no problem with using LR4 with PS CS5. I’ve read otherwise. Rob Sylvan suggests using Release Candidate LR 4.1 with Camera Raw 6.7 Release candidate. Do you concur?
Thanks for all your great lessons.
One more question will you go over above at LA workshop?
I am a Photoshop Elements user. If I move to Lightroom 4 do I get the full function Develop Module or do I get a junior version like I get with Camera Raw for Elements
Matt, I think the audio is out of sync with the video here.
Bad audio synch…it starts about 8-10 seconds into video.
Hi Matt. Nice segment. I is VERY helpful hearing your thoughts as you walk us through your workflow. “There’s no set path through the sliders.” Excellent observation.
Was also helpful to see which edits you perform in LR vs PS.
YOU GUYS ROCK, I ONLY WISH YOU WOULD COME TO THE BAY AREA MORE. LOVE WHAT YOU DO.
Nice! I like that you included Nik CEP! I’d like to see what you do with a portrait.
Great one thanks Matt. LR4 is soooo good:)
