Great show. As a person wearing glasses, the glare problem has been problematic. In film days, when I shot in a studio, we either used frames, moved the lights or tilted the chin down as most of our portraits were male [military]. We did not have PS. I really enjoyed the tip.

Matt, when you are in free transform and you have the first pupil lined up, have you tried to “anchor” it by moving the free transform center spot thing over that pupil area. From there move the other side of the glasses to line up the second pupil and the first one stays put. Please I want the Lighting in Layers DVD.

    by RC
    3. “The Photoshop Guys and Me” by RC
    4. “Layers La Vida Loca” by RC

You guys are Awesome…oh wait that’s what the page always says!! Loved the tips this week and the update on Phtotoshop and Lightroom. Hope you can fit this in to the show soon. I am in the market for a new camera and I was considering the Canon 60D or the 7D (both in the price range) They seem to be pretty much the same in regard to the sensor being 18MP but there are some subtle differences. Which would you say is the more appropriate camera for semi-pro photography (have made some dollars but not in the business full time since 1983) Now that is DSLR Shooting!! DTown Baby! Thanks.

  136. Chris Cloninger says:

  152. Libby says:

Live or Live-ish would be good. I’ll look forward to it. In the meantime, RC, I can’t believe you didn’t mention the wonderful wonderful changes to the Basic panel in LR4 beta’s Develop module! Maps are fun, but it’s a gimmick really. Being able to hide some of the module names is good. But content aware sliders in that Basic panel is awesome!

  153. takesh i says:

    Great show.

  154. another great show. what I would love to see is showing the difference between glamour, fasion, regular portrait, lifestyle and other portrait styles. There is a subtle difference between some of em and I would really love to see then more examples versus hearing. TYVM

  183. Francis says:

    You guys rock.

  184. Nick Sloff says:

I have another solution for Jeff that works better than RC’s answer. Once you set your bracket, put the camera on self timer. It will automatically fire the 3 shots for you with 1 press of the shutter. (I use a Canon 50D so I’m not sure if other brands will do the same thing.)

Love the tip from Matt about using the equipment you’re comfortable. Absolutely essential for having fun with photography. There’s a place for learning new techniques and equipment but it sure isn’t on vacation in a place you may never see again.

  190. Pete Marks says:

If you download a photo into Lightroom 4 beta will it also be in 3?

  191. IraE says:

Hi Matt, thanks for the tips on how to correct eyeglass reflections in photos. By the way, when you tilt glasses that way it is called pantoscopic tilt. If you are doing a wedding you can have the bride and groom and parents who wear glasses get new lenses with anti-reflective coatings on the lenses and that would be another way to eliminate glare from external lighting.

  192. Another great show. The map tagging in Lightroom 4 looks awesome.

    • Michiko says:

Nick, you are aseloutbly right. The first thing anyone will tell you is the importance of establishing and building a recognisable brand. Any major company, whether it be WWE, UFC, Nike, Coca-Cola, the NBA or anything else will tell you that, and these companies spend millions to establish their brand in the marketplace.Pro wrestling does this to great success by trademarking the names of their wrestlers, so that they cannot use the names outside of the company that gave them the name. If it is your desire to establish a separate identity for yourself outside of professional wrestling, then one of the best ways to do it is to use a name that no one else can claim — your own.Onto one of your other points about companies now checking people online, it’s all a matter of how you present yourself. Many companies are happy to know that people they hire have ambition. It’s a given today that no job is forever, whether it be corporate downsizing, or someone retiring, or mergers that eliminate positions. Even the military is not immune, as there are thousands of job fields in the military that are closed for promotion, so the people in those military occupations need to either find a new job in their branch of service or leave and find another branch of service (or sometimes be forced out entirely).Additionally, most people understand that your dreams and ambitions aren’t always the same as theirs, and recognise that as long as it doesn’t interfere with the performance of your job for them, most are fine with it.

  197. Phil Shaw says:

Thanks again for another great job.

  198. Lev Radin says:

Great tip from Matt, really useful. Great artist Elena Zhukova.

  202. John McLaughlin says:

    Another great show. Thanks!

  203. I would really like it if you guys would do some shows on Adventure Photography. I know the bread and butter for most people is wedding or portrait photogrphy but an episode or per season on adeventure sports photography would by greatly apreciated.

  204. Will Howard says:

You guys are awesome! Ok…the gratuitous greeting! :-)

Great tip on glass glare. I remember, back in the day, the photographer would pop out the lenses. The two-photo trick is a great alternative to no lenses or if you cannot tilt the glasses because of it looking awkward. Great job!

  205. joe nieto says:

great tips, kewl ideas, excellent show ! ! !

  206. Cindy says:

Yes, I am heading to Europe for a month. If I was only going to take one camera/lens combo (Nikon) what would you recommend? Tripod options? I have a D700 /28-300 and A D300/18-200. I am leaning towards the D300 mostly for weight concerns as I will be hiking. I have looked at lots of forums but you folks travel a lot, so what would be your preference? Thanks, Cindy

Often when I want to shoot bracketed shots, but don’t want to have to click the shutter button every time, is bracket, put the camera in 2sec (or 10sec) delay mode and it will automatically take all 3 shots. And it has the benefit of not touching the camera to take the shot.

Hi guys – good show today (I’ve already got Hobby’s DVD set, so I’m voluntarily excluding myself from the contest). Don’t know why I haven’t noticed this before, but if this is the “show for DSLR shooters”, why is the image in the “O” in the DTOWN logo clearly not a DSLR? Just sayin…

  238. Jaime says:
