Fun to see Matt again. We don’t see enough of him.
Will be looking to buy one of those hoodcaps.
The wildlife book looks really cool. Liked Matt’s lighting tip. I’d like to see how you guys handle fill flash.
Love the lighting tip. Sometimes you don’t have space to move the light back, so tips on controlling it in those situations would be good too.
Way to go guys!

Good to see you back Matt. No black T-shirt??

It gets real cold in Ohio !

Welcome back Matt. How about some lightroom tips – haven’t had one of those in a while.
Cold at 60 degrees? Matt, you black belt wimp! Come on up to Victoria, BC.. Good to have you back although we do miss Larry. Thanks for the “obvious” tip on lighting.
Pick me ! Pick me ! Mr. Cotter … Mr. Cotter !!
I can’t wait to get the Optech lens cover. I lose mine constantly because I put them in my pockets. Keep those great tips coming!
Lens cap makes great sense.
Nicely done fellas. I love the RC’s story about the lens cap. Good stuff!

jim
Hi Great show, love the links to further sources you give out.
Good show — succinct and informative
It was good to see Matt again on D-Town. Of course, I’m sure Larry is busily going over all the information for the open hardware advice position !!

Great show nice tip on side lighting and distance to light ratio. The lens booty thing story was funny. I can almost picture RC coming into the office then sulking out looking for his hood that doesn’t’ come off! Great!!

Hi guys. When you recommend a book, hold it still for a moment, please, to let us see it
Thanks for all the tips.
Cheers, some nice tips.

As a new photographer I thank you for your great tips
Greet to see you guys. Thanks for the great show.

Where’s Brad???
–John
funny lens hood session
Bra att Matt är tillbaka
Nice to see Matt again
great show
Great show!
Good show. I will have to investigate the lens cover in RC’s tip. Matt’s side lighting tip was good though I did like the effect on the one Matt said was not so great [I liked the V shaped shadow which had an eerie look]..
Good tips guys but I need to add a plug for “HELP PORTRAIT” . There was a special GRID show on this thursday past that was going to be reposted friday and it didn’t show up. Keep up the good work!
Good to see you back Matt! RC, like the lens cover but what do you do with the hood?
Love the show!
What do you do with the hood?
What about size range? 52 – 77?
Hey, Matt brought a lighting tip … FANTASTIC!! Thanks guys
Great show guys.
Love this show and it was a happy surprise to see Matt. You guys are the best – thanks for all the tips.
Nice
Welcome back Matt.
Welome back Matt! Great show!
Welcome back Matt
Welcome Back Matt. Love the show guys.
nice show
not too bad!
Short show this time. Great to see Matt on the set again, but miss Larry’s Cheap Shots.
Love your show. Thank you for sharing all the information with us.
Putting your lens hood on upside-down (rotated 180 degrees) puts the spring release in a different place. That’s what I do with an R-Strap and have never lost a lens hood.
great tips, thanks!
NEVER disappointed in dTown. I love the products from Op Tech, and use several. Was so cold here in HAWAII on Sat at an up country rodeo (3000 ft) that with 3 heavy layers and stocking cap, I was still cold, rainy too.
Anyway, my sister could really benefit from Laurie’s book. She lives in Texas and has bald eagles, Buck deer, gators, pelicans etc all in her BACK YARD and a new 300 mm lens and 7D.
thanks for the show, jock
I hate to say it, but you need to close caption Jay’s segments. He is difficult to follow.
Fun show guys! Thanks!
Great show as usual, look forward to it each week!
What doing on….
another great show keep it up guys
from Nova Scotia
Thanks guys! Enjoy the show.
Great tips today
RC — Your tip about carrying cameras reversed can be expanded. If you also shorten the strap so that it pulls tight against your upper arm when in the shooting position, you get three-point support for your camera. This also puts the lens in the small of your back allowing you to hold it in with your elbow when walking/running.
I hesitate to tell you or Joe McNally how to hold your camera but this has worked well for me since Pentax H2
Hi guys!
Great show again, nice to see Matt. I saw a day with Jay on Kelby’s training so good a lot of great insight
on hes life and street photography
Great show Matt is back!
Ok, love the show. Great tips, and good folks too!
You have mentioned MPIX, once or twice. I love it. Looks cool and want to “go there” as my next step.
BUT, I don’t know enough about resolutions, sizes etc.
Can you guys do a “mini class” on prepping a photo to send to MPIX?
Nice to see you coming back to ‘your roots’ Matt !!
Welcome back, Matt. Love that cap, R.C.
1
Super sidelighting tips! Thanks.
good tip on about the lens cap
Hey! good show, you know what i didn’t like the hoodcap because i saw RC having a hard time to put it on the lenses
Nice show
Happy Thanksgiving, Guys! I’m thankful for DTown and all the sweet tips you throw out! And if you want to know cold, come to Minnesota! It’s getting to be that time of year.
Great to see Mat K on the show!
Good show guys…
Good tips.
Thanks.
Another great episode. You should do one show where each segment is a different step in printing process on your own inkjet and sending to MPIX> I am sure MPIX would be happy to help with some sponsorship or prizes.
Thanks guys.
Good show. I like the Hood Hat tip. Well, actually, I like all the gear tips. It’s very nice to have another source of information.
Keep up the good work.
Great to have Matt back for a visit.
Welcome back Matt! How about an episode covering exposure and when to use different metering modes/exposure compensation? Thanks guys!
Good to see Matt and hear his comments on sidelighting. Sounds like a great book too. RC’s new lens cap is certainly worth looking into.
David
love the show and could use help or show on portable and continuous lighting solutions for photo and video projects. preferably including one under $500.
thanks.
Love the show, thanks guys. It was great to see Matt make a guest appearance, I’d love to see Scott on some time as well.
I have an iPhone tip. If you are running iOS5 you can use the volume up button on your headphones as a remote shutter release cable. I reckon it would work great with an iStabilizer.
Good stuff, but to short.
Floof and Run
Welcome back Matt!!
Matt and RC together, again. I just ordered RC’s HDR book, and Matt”s compositing book for Christmas. Can’t wait to dig into them. Thanks guys for another great show.
Great show guys!
you guy ROCK!
Love to see more information on side lighting.
Great show as always. Nice to see Matt back. How can you take pictures of people up close without making them look to old even if they are or to fat in which case they’re a little over weight but they tend to look heavier in the picture. If you could answer the question on one of your shows I sure would appreciate it as I’m getting myself in a lot of crap over it. Also can it be done without photoshop. Cheers
Steve.
Another great show. Best thing on he whole Internet!
Great show.
Great show
Thanks for the show – could you look at using calibration equipment for monitors and projectors some time – for example the ColorMunki and the Spyder gear.
Although quite short – I liked your mention of Jaimie Ibarra . . . I had no idea that was how your pronounce his name.
Thanks RC!
Love HDR and this show was great-Episode 98 Nov.28 2011
Always a great and entertaining show. All the tips are worthwhile. Keep up the good work.
Great show as usual!!!!
The guy on street shooting seem like he has been around a long time. I just found this site and the short vids on camera work are great. I take a lot of dog action shots on my dog walks. Thanks!
great! as always!

Love more to see on single light source lighting.
How about so,e macro stuff ?
Cheers, Ben
