Great show again! I’d like to see something on panorama stitching, not just CS5 but other apps as well as pano heads etc. Glad you put Syl Arena on, I have his handbook and it’s the BIBLE for us Canon guys.

Nice show guys. Invite Syl for the next one
Awesome tips form you guys. Thanks to Joey for a great segment.
Best tips yet! Thanks, especially to RC for the slow shutter speed tips. I watched the episode, and it really makes me want to get out and take more photos.
Awesome tips from you guys. Thanks to Joey for a great segment.
thanks for the tips guys.
great show again.
Nice!!
Another great show. I watch every week in New Zealand and love the great tips you give, especially the items on off-camera flash. Keep up the good work.
Great episode. Maybe I missed it but I was curious what MINI tripod that is RC is using that is sitting on the desk.
R.C> really liked the tips on slow shutter speeds good stuff.
Geat show! Like to se more of your flash tips!
Björn
People look at me funny when I call them EVIL cameras (Electronic Viewfinder Interchangeable Lens), and Micro 4/3rds isn’t entirely accurate and sometimes confusing, so I’ve pretty much settled on just calling them Mirrorless cameras. The lens compatibility with older film glass is great but I don’t see them as much more portable than an entry-level DSLR like a Canon Rebel T3i or a Nikon D3100.
Another great show guys! Good prize give-a-way too.
excellent show,,, great tips for those wanting to learn on thier own,,,awesome work gentlemen,,,
Especially liked the tips on holding the camera — love everything about how to compensate for maybe not having all the equipment you need.
Let’s hear more from Joey Wright
Great tips! Especially from Joey! Thanks for featuring him!!
I’d love to see more tips on shooting with speedlights and umbrellas!
Keep it up guys!
I love D-Town TV, and never miss a show.
Great Show !!
Great show but you got to get Scott to sign the books.
Like the tips for slow shutter speed shooting. I will practice them.
Thanks for the tips guys, really enjoyed it.
Great Show. Really liked the spot on hand holding
Great show guys!!

You guys rock. Syl is the Canon flashman!
More great tips! Thanks guys.
Great show. Thanks.
Another Great show I learn something useful each show
Awesome show!!
Great show.
I also carry a small tripod most of the time, and use the techniques RC describes.
Hey Larry and RC,
Great show as always. One of the things I’d like to see more of is more about making prints. RC was testing papers a while back. How do I know what paper to choose with so many options out there?
José
Another good show. Good tips for slow shutter speeds.
Loved the show today, RC great tips on holding camera close to face and snugging it in the shoulder, and long exposures using a tripod. What tabletop tripod do you use?
Many Thanks
Gloria
Great show! Any tips of sport photography?
I really need this book!
Great tips RC on handheld shooting. I tried “Da Grip” method and although at first it feels different, it works.
DJJC
great show
Awesome show, The new book looks awesome.
Hi guys- great show! Like seeing Joey Wright- definitely a great photographer.
I’d like to see more of what you guys do for quick releases- RC mentioned Really Right Stuff.
With a collection of straps, monopods, and tripods, I’m often unscrewing and screwing in a bunch of different items to the tripod socket on the camera. It would be great if there were an industry standard plate- or something close- that allows you to go from an over-the-shoulder strap to a tripod to a monopod.
Keep up the good work!
Another great show guys!
Terrific show, thank you very much.
Great show guys- Joey Wright is someone to add to the great list of guys involved with Kelbymedia.
Hey- RC mentioned Really Right Stuff plates on his camera. That’s something to discuss further. It would be great if there was an industry-standard quick release plate that worked with different straps, monopods, and tripods… life would be so much easier.
Maybe you could discuss that more and hopefully someone will build a better mouse trap.
Best regards…
You guys are awesome. Keep up the excellent work.:-)
Great show guys , still wish you had more air time.
Great show guys.
Wish you guys had more air time.
Another great show. Just ordered Matt’s new Layers book- any idea when it will be released?
Another great and informative show. Thanks!
Thanks for the speed light tips with combining flash and ambient light. Love you guys! Saw you at Photoshop World in Vegas!
Good input on shootinh at low speed.
Thanks for another great show Larry & RC!
outstanding show….great tips!!
Hey you guys! Saw you at Vegas Photoshop World. Awesome fun and learning. Thanks for the tips on combining ambient and flash photography. I’m a regular viewer of Dtown!
Great program. Do you have any tips on when to shot JPEG and when to shot RAW?
hi is that a mini manfrotto tripod.
Great show.
Love the 4/3 camera’s for traveling because they are light and feel more versatile than A PS
Another great show. Really enjoyed the Joey Wright tips.
Getting your face on the camera.. doesn’t work for me
I wear glasses and they get *REALLY* dirty doing that (Only the right lense hehehe)
Great show as always! Keep the lighting tips coming!!
Great show guys. I just joined NAPP and am loving it.
Wow, a canon tip and not a nikon tip. I kid…
Another winner of a show !! thanks for the hand-holding tips I can really use them. How about some tips/shows on macro photography especially the proper use of rails and focus stacking.
I’m a BIG fan of D-town TV and The GRID!!!
great show looking forward to the photowalk this weekend!
Great sow looking forward to the photo walk this weekend!
Another great show guys. How about a show on shooting tethered into an iPad. Keep up the great work.
Terrifiv show. Enjoyed the tips on shooting technique.
Great show guys… Would love to see more on Long exposure photography. Great Job.
Thanks for the techinques on handholding at low shutter speeds.
Great show as always. Keep up the great work!
Really enjoyable show. Learning something all the time.
Great show as always! Thank you!
Great tips guys. Keep up the good work.
Could you guys show how you arrive at your camera settings when using a speedlite
Great tips today I really appreciated them.
Great show. Larry’s comments were right on in covering the Sony NEX5. I shoot Nikon and have always be a Nikon guy but I bought a NEX5 this summer and I has made a great walk around camera. RC your segment on proper ways to hold your camera was great also. I am practicing the hold now. Having to modify some as I wear glasses.
Keep the great shows coming,
Jim
Thanks for the info on micro 4/3rds…I didnt know they were mirrorless. Do you think they would be good candidates for timelapse cameras?
Once again I enjoyed th show. Loved the tips on handheld. Can’t wait to try it out. Thanks
I like to shoot available light as much as possible’
Great tips for shooting in low light.
Great show guys! More tips with Syl Arena please
Love this show!
Just watched the whole show from my toilet. What can I say, I was mesmerized. Hats off to you RC for that shot of the restaurant. Great show as always!
THanks – really liked the long exposure tips
Very interesting show. Liked the ‘camera grip’ piece.
I saw Jose Rosa’s request about using other papers and since I just got a new printer, I’d also like to vote for some more information on that. I bought an epson, so I know there are a lot of good papers from them, but some times I’d like to get another make and then get the paper profile set up correctly. If RC could go into setting paper profiles, that would be appreciated.
tripods rock
I liked the micro cameras
cool show!, nice little cameras.
Good Show. I really enjoy Syl Arean’s work, so when I saw the segment with him, and he says to check out his lessons on Kelby Training I tried. Trouble is there aren’t any. How come?
Paul
Great show guys.
Hey guys, been a podcast subcriber for quite a while now… love the show…
I’d like to see more “on the set” features like were used this show with Joey Wright… more of them for each show…
Great show as always. One segment I would love to see you guys cover is actually small portable tripods. You showed one there on the show, but are there other really convenient/small portable tripods? Thanks!
Great show and always interesting
Good show with great tips. Gonna try the new hold on the camera for my slower speed shots. One thing I would like to see you guys talk about is resolution. The difference between some cameras that have smaller size and higher ppi then some that use 72ppi with huge sizes. Which is better to have or is there no difference? Anything else you might think is good to know also. Thanks!
You guys keep coming up with great stuff — thanks a lot. I liked the handholding tips — couple of new things there I hadn’t heard before.
Great show guys – I thought the Nikon DX cameras were APS-C and Micro 4/3 was smaller. Did I miss understand you or am I wrong?
Great tips guys. Thanks
This is my favorite show, but Larry’s makeup person needs to to a better job with his hair….RC’s hair is perfect all the time.
Later;
Tony
Great show – love the hand-holding tips.
I would like you to cover more detail in one area rather than a little in several. Larry started with 4/3 cameras but didn’t do much to tell their pros/cons/lenses available etc-
Commercials seem to take a larger amt of time than they did 2 yrs ago
PS please choose me – I would definitely like to have that book.
Great show once again. Thanks for the tips
Great show. I would love to learn more about composition and posing.
great show wow
Love the show, keep up the great work.
When is Brad going to do another gear tip?
Hi guys! Today noticed for a first time that DTOWN logo hangs crookedly, left side 1mm higher than right
or maybe video camera stands not in a proper level! or something wrong with my Eyes, in Latvia its morning! But all the rest, GOOD job as always!
Usefull tips. Thx
Cool show, thank you guys!
Wow another amazing show. You know what made me love this show so much more? The fact that you spoke about an Australian photographer. That guy is awesome too. It’s a thrill to realise that on such a great site (kelbytv.com), Australia found it’s place. Thanks a lot for finally breaking down the international barrier. You’ve really brought Kelby TV and Kelby Training right across the pacific!! Keep up the good work guys. I think you have a lot of Aussie viewers…..
Brilliant show guys!
Great tips on shooting hand held.
I love all the segments on lighting, I find them so helpful! and the tip about shooting handheld I will definitely have to try! Thanks for another great episode!
Hi guys, great show as always. Tip from Joey on lighting answered a few questions I had. Thanks Joey. I’d also like to see more guest spots and for D-TOWN to be a little longer in length. I enjoy watching and want more, and it’s over too soon. I’d really like to win one of Scotts’ books, I’m going to see him in Houston, on the 5th and the book would be a nice treat. Again thanks and keep up the good work. tom
Great show. Thanks.
RC….you looked really disinterested in Larry’s piece on micro fourthirds cameras……loved the slow shutter speed bit….more technique tit-bits please
I have never won anything here and I guess I never will despite watching every one of the 90 episodes.
Hi Guys.Another great show.Have you considered making your shows longer.
Great show! Thanks.
omg you readed my tweet thanks!
Thanks for the camera-holding tips. I’d seen McNally’s video, but kept forgetting to try the grip and use my left eye thru the viewfinder.
BTW, what is the name of that tiny tripod you love to use? I’ll check the show links to see if it’s there.
Thanks, guys!
i have ben taking pictures for local school events for free as im new to photography i have d90….is it more important to get a 70-200 2.8 lenz..or get a more expencive camra with a higher iso???thanks..
Anything on speedlights and modifiers will always be welcomed. I allready have the book, so don’t pick me. I pre ordered but I think Scott should have at least signed it, ha ha.
Started using Joe McNally grip method last month. I’m normally but a right eye guy but was surprised how quickly I got used to using my left. Using this grip method I am able to get sharp photos where normally I was struggling.
Great show and keep up the good work!
I dig The Grip!
If the book is half as good as the Light it app, it will be the greatest book on lighting written.
When you talked about how McNalley hold the camera, it reminded me of Zoolander. Do Blue Steel.
Great show!
Floof and run!
Would like to see more refine edge tips…Thanks…wm
Enjoyed the show, thank you!
Doesn’t Joey use cannon also?
Nikon D3s
As always a great show
Great show as always guys! Could you do a bit on how to best keep a monopod steady?
One of the things that makes this show good is the rapore you share… and you both seem like nice guys. I liked the info on the new cameras… and also the tips from RC on getting sharper pictures on longer exposures. Thanks
Great show. Lots of information packed into 20 minutes.
Think you missed a trick this week. Given that it is photowalk weekend, some photowalk related tips would have been most welcome.
Disappointed at the end, really thought the wee tripod was going to be one of the prizes, but I’ll not complain if I win Scott’s book
Great show… thanks
i love this show. omg i would totally love to learn about lighting setup . i hope i win one of the books
i love this show.omg i would love to learn about lighting setup . i hope i win one of the books
Thanks for another useful show – loved the low light shooting tips.
One thing to mention though, Syl referred to his Kelby training course in his tip video but this still isn’t available as yet on the Kelby training site. Any ideas when it is going to be available – I’ve been anxiously waiting for it’s release for several months now after Syl tweeted that filming was complete.
Could you do more on Nikon Capture NX2 Please.
Great as usual! Great tips for using flash, I’d be glad to see more Speedlight tips like when to use TTL mode and which(there are few TTL FB?) when to use It in manual. Which mode is better to use, when to use difuser for speed light. thanks guys
Great show, guys. One thing I’d like to see would be any thoughts you have on an octabank for speedlights — whether it’s practical to use with a speedlight, any recommendations, and the ability to use it both on a speedlight and a larger light in the future. I see a lot of softboxes with speedlights, but not many octas. I’ve been looking at products by Creative Light and Lastolite, but wonder how well they work.
Nice show as usual…
Good stuff, as always. But, you have a technical problem. Your audio is out of sync with your video. I thought FCPX had an easy fix for that.
Great show. What table top tripod is that RC uses?
You had SYL Arena on todays D-Town TV Episode 90 and he said you could find him on Kelby Training. However I have look on the site as a member and can find nothing on him. So where is he on Kelby training. I was interested in his speed light information.
Thanks
Would like to see discussion of monitor type for Photoshop post processing. I notice you guys seem to use Apple laptops but are the screens adequate for post processing?
Great show guys, Thank you and Scott Kelbytraining for all your work.
Greg Hill
Hey, I need some help with lighting. What a coincidence….
Like always informative – A++ to the Joe-grip
great pointer on shooting
Great tips, great show, great prize!!
Hello Guys,
I have a topic I would like clarified. Is the image taken with a DX lens and a FX lens of the same focal length on there correct camera bodies the same view? That leads to this question, a FX lens on a DX body is still a FX focal length with a smaller image area?
Thanks,
Tom
Good tips as always. Really like the small tripod. Would love a copy of Scotts’ book !
Great show as always. I checked Joey Wright portfolio, this guy is awesome!
Great Flash Tips with the Ring Flash! I need one of those.
Great Show! Great tip on the Ring Flash
Great tips R.C. on supporting the camer. I use the Joe McNally method as well. Just before pressing the shutter button I release half a breath which gives me more control as well.
Great show guys, thanks for showing Syl Arena! My wife has the NEx-5 and it’s IQ is pretty darn good and it will AF! I’d like to see more about shooting multi-row panoramas with suggested hardware and software.
Cheer!
Great show. How about more on photographing nighttime landscapes and cityscape photos.
What is the average shutter speed we should be able to get away with hand held?
When the Nikon 1 is released I hope that you guys will talk about the pros/cons. I’m curious of how it actually performs. I’m also wondering how the photo walk went ? Great tips as always, keep up the good work
Loved the lighting spot. Useful and full of good tips.
Thanks
Love the tips from Joey Wright. Hope to see more of him in future episodes. Would love one of Scott’s books.
Awesome show as always ,,,
Thanks guys
Great show…The best way to shoot star trails with a DSLR, including what you have to do in Photoshop afterwards…:-D
Great stuff…thanks for the tips on hand holding long shutter speeds
Another fine show…but now I feel the need to get a ring light…hmm…
Looking forward to tomorrow’s World Wide Photowalk…hello Chicago…taking a little bit of a road trip to shoot in the Windy City this weekend.
I’ve been curious about the 4/3rds cameras. Thanks for talking about them. I’m a DSLR shooter, but sometimes I just don’t want to schlep the heavy camera. Would love to hear more about the results, kind of like what RC has done for the Fuji.
Thanks!
As usual I have learned new things. Great lighting segment. Keep the great shows coming
Good show guys. Nice tips for holding the camera in low light… I’ll hug mine more from now on… :-p
Great show again.
I liked the lightning part about gel.
Guys, another great show. RC, I really like the restaurant shot, would you mind sharing what kind of PP went into the final image?
Thanks,
Wayne
Noticing a trend in your selection of featured photographers. They are “People Shooters”. Would love to see a Nature or Wildlife shooter once in a while.
Regards
Love the show, but do I win something if I tell you the the website for the new photographer Stefan Bollinger was incorrect on the screen. Should have been swissphoto.com.au you had swissphoto.com/au..
Love the tips aout camera handling, thanks!!
Great tip about exposing for the background first and then using flash to get the subject exposed properly. Thanks!
Hey guys, LOVED the lighting demo from Joey Wright. It was short, to the point, and very useful. Also, I’ve been using Joe McNally’s shoulder technique to shoot longer shutter speeds for a while now and it works great!
Long time viewer. Love the look and info
Great tip on ring lights!
Looks like RC was having a hard time watching Larry talk about cameras that weren’t full DSLR’s. Hang in there, man… we love ya!
Fantastic show guys. I like the fact that you are showing up and coming photographers like myself. It really inspires us. Keep up the good work guys…..
Great show guys wish you had more airtime.
Great show.
wonderful show.
Loved the segment with Joey Wright. Talking trough his process was very educational. Thanks!
Great Show as ALWAYS!
Throw the book here guys!;)
Glad Larry could say something instead of RC
I’ve tried “Da Grip” a few times and it feels weird since i am a right eyed shooter – wonder if i could change that.
Anyway, RC, do you have a link for the mini tripod?
Thanks for the great show again.
Thanks for the information on Sly as I shoot Canon flashes
Loved the “tip on the grip” I will start practicing the grip. I would like to see some tips on macro photography especially phot stacking and proper/right tecnique for photo stacking.
Awesome show as always !!
Jeff
Guys, your show just gets better and better! I’m pumped! Thanks!
Loved the lighting tips. More please.
I LOVE THE SHOW. I’VE BEEN SHOOTING FOR OVER 25 YEARS AND I GET SOME GOOD TIPS ALMOST EVERY TIME.
love the tips. they will really make a difference
Great show guys.
Hey guys – Great show. Loved the tips on holding the camera in low light situations.
Great show guys. Keep the guest tips coming. I would like to see RC explain how he uses his Ipad to make money? That would be interesting to hear.
All the best guys.
So much to learn in one episode alone!
Awesome!
I really like the ring light idea!
Great show as usual. Must try out the grip.
Nice mix this week guys
Liked the guests. It is nice to hear from different photographers
I can’t wait until the next shows come out. I watch them on my phone whenever I get the chance. Even the simplest tips are really helpful.
Great job guys, but there is something that I would to see. I would like to see you bring in the studio an Adorama Flashpoint 320M ac/dc strobe with a single light and umbrella to shoot a basic one portrait.
Love the hand hold tricks
derek
I enjoy all of your shows. Thanks!
Great tip for holding the camera and please keep the tips coming.
once again enjoyed the show. how about tips flash techniques (on and of camera), camera settings you prefer (what you both like and why)

your hole crew rocks
My lighting needs a lot of work. One of those books would be great.
Thanks guys good show as usual. RC could you share what type tabletop tripod you have, and thanks for showing the different grips to hold camera.

Really liked the section on shooting with flash….exposing for the sky and then filling with flash
Great show! Loved the flash info. Keep up the good work.
Thanks!
Some tips on making family photos more interesting would be great.
great show
Hey fellas,
As always, another fine episode. And thanks for taking a quick look at the GF3 and Sony NEX right up front, and then following that up with an actual hands-on demo of some very useful lighting equipment with the Joey Wright segment, which was absolutely AWESOME! Don’t know if those were in response to my message from last week, or if they were planned long before that. But either way, a BIG thumbs up. More, more, more, please!
The tips were very welcome, thanks
The show keeps getting better. Now in the 3rd (?) season with the RC/Becker team, it seems to go by too quickly; there’s just too much to learn. Sigh.
Strangely, i have always liked the Kelby-produced ads, they are, well, snappy. And I like the format where the ads are quick in-and-out-and-back-to-the-show (this show was a great example), I wouldn’t mind more ads interrupting the flow if they were the quick format. Why do I go to all this trouble to talk about ads? Because generally I hate them, and don’t watch TV because of that, but Kelby does a great job. And I do use Kelby Training, albeit intermittently. Thank you KT and RC/Larry for doing the gratis show and other info for all of us with a passion for photography.
HI Guys,
Love the Grip tips and the info for long exposures. Overall another great show. Thank you
Great show guys,
Really love the clips on technique from Joey and Syl, these are a fantastic addition to an already superb format. Keep up the great work !
Cheers
Phil.
Should mention the micro 4/3 lenses for equivalent focal length are much smaller than typical DSLR lenses.
Another great episode
Good stuff guys!!
Great lighting tips!
Very good show. Please do more about settings for using a speedlight or sb800.
Great show again.
Can you talk about using filters, is it better on camera or post processing.
good show
thank you for the tips
great tips
hi guys love the show, really interesting to see which subjects ,photography styles are hot in the states at anytime always different to whats going on here in the uk. however having said that the constant unashamed plugging of kelby training is starting to get on my nerves yes we know its brilliant, we know its really cool we know it gives us dtown for free but please stop going on about it so much….. what next a huge photo of scot with a cheesy grin wearing a dodgy kelby training t shirt hanging behind you guys on set….. shit hope i haven’t given you any ideas.
love u guys
nick
thanks guys for the gr8 show
NIce show!
I always learn something here. Loved the grip ideas.
Great show guys!
Love the show. Suggestions for lighting macro shots would be most welcome. Larry any cheep Equipment options?

Great show funny always
When will Syl’s course come out?
Enjoying your show guys! Is there a radio trigger that maintains iTTL functions when the speedlight is in something like the Wescott Apollo?
Thanks for the camera steadying techniques!
Can´t you start doing 2 episodes every week
Time flies when i watch your show
Sure would like to win Scott’s book. Great Tips. I will be using those today at my bands reunion party.
Love the show. RC how about some tips on holding you camera in a verticle position. Right hand (shutter) above or below (my preference). Do I need to change my ways for a steady shot?
Who makes that small tripod you showed?
Yup… always glad when I tune in. Some new processing tips please.
Loved the way of stabilizing the camera!
Tips on shooting in poor weather… It’s that time of year once again
love the show.,..esp tips on holding camera steady
Another great show. I especially like the tip hidden away in you talk about slow shutter shooting (when you took out your tripod to shoot the restaurant interior):
To get the great shots you have to take the time to do it right.
DBMiller
Thanks, my work has improved by your willingness to keep topics first class and interesting.
the new nikon 24-120 or the 28-300???
just getting into trying some studio stuff and could really use that book…… hey I’m not skeeerd to ask!
Love the show. Can we have some more in depth advice on balancing flash exposure with daylight ambient exposure on Canon Speedlights. e.g. how to go about getting the starting exposure for the flash to match the daylight exposure measured. Thanks.
Great show
thank you for all the tips.
Great tips this week, I would like to see more canon flash techniques.
Thought of another question. Was looking through some studio lights and other lighting equipment and found many that are florescent. I’m thinking they are white balanced to daylight so it isn’t an issue but…What is your take on florescent over incandescent and what types of lighting would you have a recommendation about?? Thanks!
great show. What about that new nikon 1 v1,
anybody get their hands on for a review.
I was going through withdrawal… glad you’re back!!
Great show again. Loved the camera stabilizing techniques.
You guys “Light up my Life”.
I would love to get more lighting tips from reading Scott’s new book..! =)
Please give us some more of Joe McNally!
Hi Guys,
Thanks a bunch for the work you guys put into the show. I have learned a lot from you guys.

Great show guys!! What is the make of the mini tri-pod RC uses for low light? Love the shows! Thank you.
Another solid show.
Great show! I always want to see more information on using small flashes, as I’m just starting to use them myself. I would love to see some tips on using the Nikon R1C1 flash set for Macro.
Love that mini tripod! I’ve looked at the Gorilla Pods, but always thought they were a bit too bulky.
–John
Cool show, I would like to see more about tips and techniques for holding your camera, I find I shake a bit and would like to use a better technique to hold my camera, thanks.
Hi, Larry & RC. Great show. Love the info. How about some info on Macro. Thanks for all the tips. The more I know the better I get. again Thanks much and Thanks for L@@KINIG.
Great Show guys!. RC thanks for the tip on the Really Right Stuff mini tripod.
Thats another great tip on slow shutter technique shot from DT Town.
As always, a great show
Cool show!! i especially liked the hand held technique as i find myself in that situation often and blur has been my constant pain point in those cases. more power and looking forward to more episodes!
Thank you, guys!
Great show… Love the guest websites for inspiration.
Лучшее шоу!
Hola Rafael, hola Larry. Cuando Scott t Matt se fueron del programa pensé que éste no tendría ya más interés que sería imposible mejorarlo… Pero vosotros lo hacéis tan dinámico que ya se me han olvidado los otros dos buddies. Aunque los sigo en The GRID. Porfa, traduce mi comentario a Larry. Un abrazo chicos.
WooHoo! What a great show. I loved the tips on low light shooting, I have trouble getting low light pictures that aren’t blurry- can’t wait to try the tip on how to hold the camera.
Another great show! I love how I can learn new tips about seemingly simple things that I thought I already knew, like how to better grip and hold my camera. Brilliant! Hey, think about giving us even more tips for less expensive equipment (maybe within Cheap Shots segments) for this of us just starting to take the plunge.
Thanks for another great show.
I haven’t heard of Joey Wright until now. Thanks for more inspiration!
Hey guys, this is my first time catching the show and I love it! Will have to spend a good deal of the next few days, weeks even, to watch it all!
Just wondering if you guys do product comparisons and if you do, I’m keen to find out what’re the key differences,pro/cons for using with a speedlight something like a photex softlighter 2, aurora firefly beauty box and a traditional square softbox for on location shoots.
Oh yeah and RC, couldn’t find Stefan on G+ guess I’ll have to hop over to his website and check it out.
Cheers!
As usual, you guys are such a great help.
Great handheld technique tips. Thanks!
Good tips.
Testing, testing, 1, 2, 3… is this thing on?
Great show, Proves time goes buy fast when your having a good time.
RC – How about doing a piece on mounting matting and framing for fine art? I want my images on the wall not a screen! What about limited editions? What would be the appropriate matt and do you frame?
Cheers- Jason
Hope to see Scott in MI next week. Could use the book after that for sure. Great job as always guys.
Great show!!!! I like RC’s tips on how to hold your camera.
great show!
pray tell – who makes that tiny tripod?
How late can I enter the contest and still be in the running?
Love the show guys and all the tips. The cheap shot ideas always inspire creativity.
Hi guys! The hand-held tips were great. It was nice to hear about the 4/3 cameras, as I was curious about them.
Your DTown show is amazing. You keep photography always exciting and keep it from becoming just routine. I learn something from every show. Never go away. You guys make my day——-thanks.
Another great episode!
I really enjoyed the show especially having Joey Wright as a featured guest. Keep up the good work!!
Great Show. I love all the tips in this show. I felt some of the earlier shows this season were more Grear & Techie. Keep the Photo Tips Coming!
great show!
Thanks for the camera holding tip.
You are right
Thanks for sharing info on the ringflash and the extra outdoor tip. This was good to see.
RC’s tips on slow shutter techniques were great.
Great show! I keep On following you here in Portugal
Tiny tripods are indispensable! And thanks for the rest of the show too…
Would benefit from multi sequence shows on using remote flash/strobes or White Lightning etc with pocket wizards radio remote. thanks, good tips today. Jock contest #thegridlive
Oh, and PLEASE come back to Hawaii. It’s too expensive for us to travel PLUS tuition, hotel, car etc.
Good artical on the ring fllash.
vHey guy’s! Love your show, and think i’ve been watching most of the episodes.
I realy want to see more about snowboarding and skatboarding photography if possible. One of the things I’m curiouse about is how to freeze action, and be able to use flashes. Mostly I’m using sb-900’s and shutterspeeds around 1/1000th second. If I’m going to invest in more powerfull flashes, what would you suggest? Is there anyway to use these kind of flashes and still be able to shoot at 1/1000th second?
You’ve also been showing a lot of bags and stuff for ”normal” photographers. What would you suggest if your going to bring it down a slope when skiing or snowboarding? I know both Burton and Dakine has some, but i’m not shure if they’re any good…
Great stuff as always guys.
Great show and full of tips
Great show guys . Keep going
another great show guys
Another great show
RC….GREAT TIP about using your LEFT EYE instead of your RIGHT EYE. I was use to using my right eye. But now that I have CONTACTS that are staggered so that one eye SEES CLOSE (LEFT EYE) and one EYE SEES FAR (RIGHT EYE), I was not seeing the view finder image clearly. It also looked smaller. BUT when I looked through the viewfinder with my LEFT EYE……WHOLLY COW!!!! the view finder was in focus (and bigger). I will now be using my LEFT EYE from now on!!! Thanks for “RE-FOCUSING” my photography!!
Great show, greetings from Germany
Hi
Never seen that technique for using the shoulder to support the camera – thanks very helpful
Noel
Thanks for another informative show.
Great episode! I’m headed to reallyrightstuff.com right now!
Thanks RC for that “tuck” method of holding the camera. I’m going to have to give it a try. I’m always looking for new techniques for shooting. See you guys next week!
You guys rock! Another great show with practical tips to improve our photography! Thanks.
Good handheld tips, RC
This was a very helpfull show for me. Especially the ligting on the beach and how to hold the camera steady. Thanks!
Another great show! Could you please continue with “cheap shots”? And also some more speed lights tips too.
I want to thank you guys for putting on these shows. It has helped me with learning photography. I do have many shows to catch up on but its so worth it. I hope to be as good as everyone on the show one of these days and have a better camera. I currently use a Nikon D60. Thank you again and any and all knowledge you provide is amazing and helpful.
PS hope to win a book..lol Thanks again for everything from everyone.
Great tips on slow shutter shooting. I love my little table top tripod, it’s very useful. Anyway, great show guys, keep it up. Thanks!
You guys are awesome! Thanks for all the tips!!!!!!
WOW i have been watching Photoshop User TV for a long time and i just discover DTOWN now i have to spend more time on front of my Mac, it’s all good just starting shooting DSLR, you guys ROCK I learn so much from you guys.
Thanks.
I’m left handed, wear glasses, and shoot left eyed with the camera tight against my face in the “McNally” position. Unfortunately it is a right handed (right eyed) world. Camera backs are designed for right eye shooting. It’s difficult to get at the back dial to adjust shutter speed as an example. What gets me more then anything is my nose (maybe a little big, but not bad). The nose hits the select dial when the camera is tight against the face. It will frequently shift the settings, usually the focus points given my settings.
Another use for the table top Manfroto tripod. I will flip the ball 90 degrees and place the legs tight against my chest. This really can help with the camera shake.
another awesome show! Dido on the earlier post about cheap shots segment. Thanks
Great show! Unbelievable amount of information.
Thanks guys! This is the first show I’ve watched – enjoyed the number of subjects covered and the fast pace of the show – never a dull moment. Keep up the good work. Will now be a weekly viewer.
interesting show!
hey guys remember you were showing the westcott appolo on the show… it just hit me that the off camera flash would be inside the soft box… how are u supposed to trigger it with the pop up flash if its inside??
love the show… I hope you bring more guests to the set…. I have learned more about photography watching the show rather than reading a couple books.. please talk more about using speed-lights, for starters like me, how to better use a single speed-light…
keep up the good work. i hope the book comes this way
Hey guys, great show
can you give tips about attaching your DSLR to a spotting scope for really long range zoom. and is it a good investment than buying a really expensive long range zoom lens. i saw this in Nikon site
http://www.nikonsportoptics.com/Products/Digiscoping/8322/DSLR-Camera-Attachment-FSA-L1.html
Hi guys!
Hi great show.
Why not use the (Nikon) “Exposure delay mode” instead of “mirror lockup”? i find it easier to use!
Hi guys!
Great show! You have another devoted watcher from Poland
The best part of this show for me was talking about lighting by Joey Wright. I visited his site and I must say that he is really good photograper! I love his photos! And I’m a little jealous becouse of his beautiful models
BTW – You wrote bad adress for Stephan Bollinger site. It should be swissphoto.com.au not swissphoto.com/au, but link works fine.
Best regards!
Really good show this week. Thank you.
Great show again guys! I’m picking up done good tips here. As a stingy Scotsman anymore of Larry’s Cheap shots will keep me happy!
Hey RC, you talked about that nifty little tripod that you use and a link was provided to the general site, but I can’t seem to find that tripod. Any chance you can give a link to the exact page for the mini tripod on Reallyrightstuff.com?
Thanks
Love the show. Always learn something new. Would like to see more on lighting. There are so many options it is overwhelming. Ready to invest in some lighting equipment, but don’t know where to start. Thanks.
Great show. Thank you for the tip with camera holding.

I was wondering why the frisbee kept getting bigger and then it hit me
U guys rock
Love to show and tips about the Joe’s grip. I have seen it at his blog and some other videos, but RC put in very clearly. THANK YOU!
thanky Guys, i liked those long Expsoure Tips
great show again !
Great Show!!!! Again
Another great show! Question… when you drop down on resolution in your camera, lets say from 16mp to 8mp does the camera still use all the pixels and just group them, or does it just use 8mp out of the middle? Reason… if it groups them wouldn’t it make the camera better in low light?
Thanks
Dave
Another good episode. Nice to have you back. RC, you forgot about using your camera strap as a sling to stabilize your camera.
Great tips… suggestion… tips on macro and lighting for macro shots.
Great tip with J M’s hand holding at low speed technique
What a good program, I am one from Denmark can learn a lot. I have two lights and background. I would like to know a little more clever ways of how to set them up. I also have reflector screens.
With best greetings

God how I hope to come to Denmark one day.
Another great show guys. Keep going
I really appreciated the Joey Wright segment. I’m asking Santa for a ring flash for Christmas!
awesome once again. love to see that book!
You guys totally rock. I just discovered your videos and they are awesome!
I really enjoyed this show – my favorite parts were showing how to use flash in outdoor photography and how to use the ring of flash. I was refreshed to hear the tips on holding your camera tight and still and encouraged to remember to use my tripod more. I wouldn’t mind some simple tips on catalogs in LR.
I would like to see demonstrations on mirror up. Not sure what the advantage is other than camera shake.
Great tips on camera support. I have a smallish tripod (as well as a monopod and full size tripod) but it isn’t exactly pocketable. I need to find a real compact one like RC showed us, and keep it with me. Thanks guys.
Great show!
Again, waiting for the next episode, always loved this show. Keep it up!
great show n Joey shooting tips
I Like your show guys.
Like the fact that you talk about mirrorless camera.
I’m looking to buy one and the spec of those camera really start to be interesting.
I do underwater photo and film but full DSLR camera are big the housing event bigger and heavy so mirrorless is a nice option for me. I’d really like you guy to get a bit deeper in those camera.
Sorry for the english (I’m french)
Great show!
Real good tips, maybe next time how about different type of tripod that are out there.
Great show today! I liked the ring flash demo–all new to me. Glad to see the HDR version of the bar at the Mandalay Bay. It’s beautiful!
