Happy Thanksgiving to you all! Great show and great series as always.
Pre-ordered Matt’s book but still not in. Customer Service says two more weeks. Maybe I can get one for free?
Learn loads from you guys, keep up the good work.
Another great show. I understand that you want feedback on how useful/worthwhile these shows can be: THEY ARE ! Please keep them coming.
I especially like your approach of presenting several points of view and the pro/con on topics (jpeg vs raw, for instance). I find it very useful to hear multiple points of view on topics. Even topics for which I think I’ve made up my mind. I sometimes hear something to make me rethink my decision.
For sports, it would be interesting to hear your take on the number of focus points, and the time length on focus tracking. I’ve been using 21 points with short lock, but would like to hear more opinions.
Bottom line: keep it up. You’re doing great.
HI!!!!!!!!
Matt,
I really – really – really could use your book!
Thanks!
Bought the R Strap based on your rec and love it.
Cheers boys!

Hi guys, great show as always! I have a question: I don’t remember having show us a proper grip the camera.I have obtain a nikon 80-200f2.8 and as you know the vr funtcion is not there… So can you show us your favoritte grip?(of cource it matters alot at low speeds)
Thanks alot!
Bought Matt’s new Layers book and love it! Even if you think you know it all, you’ll learn a thing or two, I promise! Happy Turkey Day, guys!
Scott
Been recommending your podcast a lot this week.
Great show.
I have most of the gear you mentioned.
But, I will be picking up some knee pads soon.
I really like your knee pad idea! I’ve torn a few jeans accidentally while down on the ground.
I leave my camera a lot on the ground, while trying to compose my shots. Any suggestions on protecting the camera/lens?
But if I get lots of people to watch the show, it will cut down my chances of winning the prizes.
Thank you!
Another good show.
Thanks for the show gents! I like the concept of covering themes like sports. How about a show centered on shooting landscape?
Scott: Be more careful with that lens! I cringed when you bumped the end of it when you were talking about the buffer!
Matt: Picked up your book the other day and I am already 1/2 way through it. Great stuff, and your method of teaching layers is enjoyable.
Thanks for the tips, guys!
–John
Great tips, especially the Live View tip. Thanks
Hey guys, love the sports theme!
Great show again. I’d love to have Matt’s book.
Love the show as always!!
Great show
Hm, second show in a row where you could get the assumption that ISO1600 f2.8 equals ISO4000 f4.
Would you care to explain this obsession for mentioning ISO4000 i situations where ISO3200 would be the logical?
They got me confused as well. I recently shot an indoor soccer game at f/4 and ISO 4000-5000 and that was nowhere of the 1/1000 of a second as they say would be the optimal shutter speed. Rather it was around 1/100 of a second. I can’t see how you’re able to achieve 1/1000 of a second at f/2.8 and ISO 1600.

Great show once again.
Direct link to Surefire and inova not working. However I found sales reps over here in australia and new zealand for the items. They cost about twice to 3x as much as in the states

Hy guys,

Please think about some special parts (shows) about macro shootings!
Thank.
Take care, regards from germany.
You rawk!
Dear Scott,
This video got me confused. I would like to add a 70-200 lens in my armamentarium. However, i’m choosing an f4 with IS versus an f2.8 without IS as i’m in low budget mode. Why do you need to turn off IS or VR in indoor shoots? Does that mean it’s better to have an f2.8 without an IS compared to an f4 with IS? I hope you could help me on this.
It will really really mean a lot if you can give me some input on this. I will only use the lens for my kids tennis games.
Renante Guinto
I believe that he is talking about turning it off just whille you are shooting sports, As in most of the time your moving the camera as the subject moves. Also with the subject moving / running they are moving up and down and if you have the VR/IS turned on your going to get a bit of motion blur and with sports you want to freeze the action.
this is my theroy on what Scott was meaning by turning it off but not 100 percent sure
If you shoot sports, your shutter speed should be high enough to freeze movement. It also freeze camera motion.
VR takes time to stabilize and is useless when you shoot at 1/1000s.
Now, if you shoot a portrait, you want to get as low ISO as you can, so you might get down to 1/125s and that is when VR should be turned on.
Hope that helps.
I wish I could be there at B&H…
I always learn something from your shows.
Thanks
hi guys
Hi Guys!

Love the knee pad idea–
Keep them coming!
I own already CS3-version “Layers” book which was very helpful for me as a beginner in digital photography. Your weekly episodes are very interesting and bring a lot of new ideas and information for professional photographers as well for beginners like me. Keep up the good work!
Another great show guys, excellent tips! Many things I’ve figured out on my own, but it’s nice to hear it from you to confirm my understanding.
Thanks a lot guys!!!
Great show
You guys rock!
Great show guys!
Great topic…Keep up the GREAT work!!
Love the show, always good info. Used the tips photographing my son and his friends playing a pickup football game at the park. Got some great shots, they loved them. Everyones a star! Matt, I have the previous edition of your book, love it, use it, can’t wait to get the new edition.
You guys rule !
Great Job
hi guys
Great show!! Macro shooting would be a nice followup show.
Think Macro Shooting!
Think Macro Shooting!

Think Macro Shooting!
Think Macro Shooting!
Good show.
Great tips for camera settings, thanks for another great show
Great show today. Really liked the mention of the RainSleeve. Got to get some of them. Previously I’ve used a large gallon-sized ziplock bag, with mixed results.
Matt’s book sounds great. Thought about getting it before. Gotta look at it in a store to see if it requires CS5, or if most of it applies as weel to CS4.
well done!
another great episode. Thanks guys.
Just ordered my blackrapid strap earlier this week. Can’t wait until it gets here! Great show.
I’ve been using the Black Rapid strap for quite a while and find that it sometimes starts to unscrew from my camera. So, to prevent it from coming completely undone, leaving my camera free-falling to the ground, I secure it to the camera with a long zip tie connected to the camera’s built-in strap holder.
Great show once again guys! Shows are getting longer and it’s very appreciated. Your tips are awesome!
About the Layers book, I already ordered mine so don’t count me in this giveaway, but it would be nice if you guys announce the winners once in a while. I know you probably pre-taped these shows, but maybe a mention on the website? Or is it me that don’t know where to find this info?
Keep up the good work!
Good info I don’t do sports but my work puts me ut doors doing explosions and that requires a lot of the same limitations
Great show – And right on the money re. Surefire 123 batteries. Also work great in the SU-800…
You guys rock!
I like your show
Great show as usual!!!
Great Show. I have Matt’s 2008 edition of Layers and I bet the new one is just as great or even better.
Love the sports tips!
Thanks again for another terrific show. AND thank you for again touching on memory cards. A question has come up that might fall in the category of “myth” , which is that by constantly removing a card from camera to download through a card reader results in wearing the pins down in the camera. Is that a concern to photographers or a mythtake?
Hey guys,
great info as always.
question;
Scott, I have heard you say several times to turn off the IS/VR when shooting under various conditions.
2 that stick in my head have been while on a tripod and at fast shutter speed.
Can you tell us all why and give us a bit more the technical reasons. I looked in my user manual for my camera and it doesn’t say anything about turning it off, in fact it says basically to have it on you gain a couple of stops of lower shutter speed hand holding.
Ron
IS/VR doesn’t freeze the action. It helps steadying the camera when shooting at low shutter speed.
When you shoot sports, you want to be near the 1/1000th of a second to freeze the motion of the subject so the IS/VR is not needed.
Since the VR tries to stabilize the shot, it won’t be as sharp as if it was turned off.
enjoyed the show!
GREAT SHOW!
Great episode guys. And thanks Larry, never heard of lithium 123 batteries before!
Great tips and perfect timing on “must have” items. The camera strap, rain cover and flashlight are all going on my Christmas list. Also nice that the links will make shopping easier for my husband! Look forard to the live show on Monday. Hope you both, and your families, enjoyed a beautiful Thanksgiving.
Great show guys
Hey, great show, look forward to seeing u @b&H!
Nice one, but hey Larry! get a wind-up led torch, and save the planet and your wallet
I liked the Screen Loupe, though, they are really over-priced !
See you on monday…
Great Show
You guys rock!
Love this sports series. Lots of great advice. Keep it going for five or six more episodes!
Hi again!
great show thanks
can’t wait to see Matt’s new Layers book!
To have maximum performance with UDMA CF, you must have an UDMA card reader with a fast interface. The 600X UDMA CF can reach 90MB/sec. but the common USB2.0 interface can reach only 60 theoretical MB/sec, and about 35MB/sec. in typical real situations!
To not have these bottlenecks you must use Firewire800 (100MB/sec.) or USB 3.0 (600MB/sec.) interface. The first isn’t common in Win PC world, while I’m waiting for a card reader USB 3.0.
The UDMA standards:
UDMA0 ……..16,7 MB/s
UDMA1 ……..25,0 MB/s
UDMA2 ……..33,3 MB/s
UDMA3 ……..44,4 MB/s
UDMA4 ……..66,7 MB/s
UDMA5 ……100,0 MB/s
UDMA6 ……133,3 MB/s
The interface standards:
USB 1.1 ……………………1,5 MB/s
FireWire 400 …………….50 MB/s
USB 2.0 ……………………60 MB/s
FireWire 800 ………….100 MB/s
USB 3.0 …………………600 MB/s
Sorry for my bad English.
Enjoyed the show as usual.
Love the tip for the flashlight.
Not into sports shooting, but I still found your show valuable
thanks guys
Have a Great Holiday Season

Otherwise, great job as always!

Excellent tips! thanks.
What about using the Auto ISO function for shooting sports? Aperture priority, f2.8 and set Auto ISO to 1/1000 s and e.g. ISO 3200?
Thanks Scott!
Thanks, Matt!
Very sweet show, I have learnt a load of things as well as reminding of other tips that that have gone to the back of my mind.
Thanks to at Dtown.
Why is good stuff so expensive? Or for that matter the photog’s life in general?
Not really a sports guy, but no matter. Enjoying the series and much of the information I can apply towards other types of photo situations…by the way, the knee pads….great idea.

Mike
Great show guys maybe I will see you at BHphoto haha.
Another great show, thanks guys!
Great show. I agree with the guy about a macro shooting show.
i just got the nikon 70-200 2.8 and got poorer by 2K..richer in terms of amazing shots that I get out of this lens..so would would be good if I get the layers book for free
Yeow. A $25 flashlight on ‘cheap shots’???
I dunno about that one guys… maybe the Michigan winters aren’t as bad on batteries as Florida summers, but I’ve not had a lot of problems in having my pocket flashlight go away during a shoot.
Good show, tho, fully worth twice the price of admission. Oh, wait….
Great show
Thanks
thanks guys. nice tips again for sports. God Bless.
As usual guys, another great episode. Keep up the great work, Matt – I can’t wait to get that great book of yours
Cheers,
M.

Last three shows on sports photography has been very helpful.

Thanks a lot and keep it coming !
Bryan
Nice show
Mark
I have the first Layers Book and look forward to getting the new CS5 Layers book.
Looking forward to the live show on monday.
Thanks for the reminding about the WB tip using the LCD. I think I read it in one of Scott’s books before, but had forgotten.
Hi Scott and Matt – finally upgraded to PS CS5; that new “Layers” book would give me a great leap up the learning curve. Thanks for all you do to keep us all improving!
Mike
Another great show guys!!
Hi GUys! Thanks for all the info! Will you please do a best Point-and-shoot show for DSLR shooters! Thanks.
Loved this three-part series on sports photography, thanks a lot!
Juu rok!
Forget battery powered torches.
I bought a wind up torch for £5 (well under $10). Wind it for 1 min and it lasts hours.
Much more economical.
Great show as usual. Was expectif to see it on my iphones but alas not present in the podcast (yet).
Great show again!
Thanks
Keep going
Really nice show and it was relay long..

Hi, great show. See you on Monday!
Fabulous show, fantastic tips – Thankyou
Great show,guys…
Thank you!!!
Great show,as usually!!!!
Hello! awesome show
Great show
Thanks for the show
Thanks.
Your show is a fantastic resource. How long is the contest open? Although I would like to just wait around for each new episode the minute it comes out, I have a day job that interferes with that approach. I sometimes don’t get to watch until a day or (gasp) two after it shows up.
I have the same question about the live Monday show. Do I need to be watching to win? I will have to call in sick to work if that is the case.
Floof and Run(I just like saying that)
Thank You
Shawn
Awesome sports series!
Please – Layer my “Houseki”!!!
Hi Guys!
Hi Guys! Great show.
Attempting to experience CS%. Layers would definitely help, although I do not shoot many sports…unless you consider weddings a sport.
Great show on sports photography.
I like your show. Would you please cover macro.
Great show
You people and your videos are WAY out.
You should be called the master EMT’s of PhotoShopatography………..

Hi guys like your show and thanks for the tips about the gear
Greetings from Lithuania
Loved this episode…GREAT…..
Great show again guys. Like a lot of other people I live in a part of the country, where this time of year it snows quite a lot. How about a show dealing with winter photography? topics like gear prep, cold weather bags, just some tips and tricks to keep equipment from crashing in winter weather.
Thanks.
Great show!
Hey what’s up with the set attire? Scott’s in winter leather, Matt’s in summer T-shirt. Cognitive dissonance.
Thanks for another great show
As always I learned a lot. Thanks Guys!
Sounds like a great book!
Great show, guys!
Great sports series , thanks for all you
guys do!
Awesome show.
I am watching your show through itunes i never miss one.
Hi. greetings from Finland, jep its cold and dark in here in this time of year…
Im thinking of jpeg vs raw .. in jpeg you allways loose some of the data… dont you? It´s compressed? Or am I wrong??
Sorry about my bad english :-O
The show is really great!
Pure poetry boyz. Hey Brad!
Great stuff…thx fellas!!
hi there
All the best
You guys do a great series, however you often wear black and that makes it difficult to see some of the products you are talking about. Look forward to your show each and every week.

Love the show guys }:0)

Great show!!! Really like the Cheap Shots segment!
Good program guys, cheers for all the RAW vs JPEG differences, think I need a hoodman now!!
Hi!

Good show guys!
Hey lads;

Great show!!! Thanks!
you guys are awesome, keep up the good work!
Great show.
Another good show.
Great Job very informative
Great show…..need….kneepads….
I liked the color space tip. I learned something there.
Any tips on protection in the salt air/mist near the coast?
The hydrophobia is excellent kit.
Great show, guys!
I’m confused… I read once in one of your book
that you didn’t use large memory cards in cased a card failed, then you wouldn’t loose everything if you use 2-3 smaller cards.
And “Raw Rules” (Joe McNally) doesn’t apply for sports?
Love the show!
Keep up the good work.
Awesome episode guys. Love the gear recommendations. I would be interested in hearing about cost effective and efficient ways of transporting lighting (strobes, modifiers, etc.) I’m aware of Larry’s idea of using baseball bat bags for light stands and so forth, but I’m looking for strobe protection that may not be as expensive as a Pelican case.
Hey, you guys are sooper dooper and..
I want the book!
L8r,
Johan .:.
Great show !!!
Awesome show again!!! I love, love, love to read Matt’s book. I have the first one and it’s torn to pieces. Those of you who have never read any of Matt’s books, you have to start now. He just gets right to the point.
Great show
oh pick me !! pick me !! [jumping up and down]
Great tips!!
Great show!!!
Great episode, but I have a request.
You said that if you are shooting sports at a high shutter speed to turn your image stabilization off. I would think you would also be shooting in auto focus servo mode. In that mode I would expect image stabilization to make it easier to keep the auto focus point on a specific high contrast spot on the target to improve the camera’s ability to get a sharp focus.
Can you expand on you comment about turning off image statilization in a future episode.
Thanks.
Gobble Gobble Happy Thanksgiving Guys from your neighbour to the north!! Great show as always!! My week is not complete until I listen to you both. Can’t wait to see the nest show. Too bad I will be working to see your live show
Oooops that should say next not nest bah ha ha must have had turkeys on my mind
Someday I’ll win…hope it’s this time.

Another great show!! How about some tips on multiple strobes for portrait and interior lighting?
Hi
it was a great show
and hope to start sell the t-shirts with D-town logo
Tight, solid advice again.
I like the philosophy you’re using: Tell me what you do and why, with enough detail so that I can understand when to follow your suggestions and when they might not be appropriate.
Please keep it up. You’re on a roll.
Love the sport shows…I do like Track and Cross Country Running Photo’s…haven’t heard too much about this sport photo opp’s. Would love to hear your idea’s there. Thank You!
As good as ever
Just one issue: why is it taking so long for this episode to appear in iTunes? It’s still not updated to episode 61?
Cheers.

Great show as usual. Very helpful.
Thanks for the great tips about sports photography
I just came onto DTOWN this week have been reviewing past episodes every morning. I’ve been shooting for the past couple of years and I think I’ve learned more from your tips this past week then I have I have over the past 6 months. I’m just sorry I didn’t know about the program from the beginning.
Thanks for making this available for everyone.
I can´t wait for the next episode, though I´m always very busy with my own business, I´m thinking about how to apply all your tips to my pics every week after the show.
I invite you all to watch my Flickr site and leave me your comments to keep me going. Thanks a lot Scott and Matt, good guys.
On batteries; I mark one end of the battery contact cover with a magic markerand when the batt is expended, I turn the marked end of the cover to the non-contact end of the battery. I always know if the batt is charged or not by looking at the contacts cover position.
More info on what speed to turn the VR off would be nice.
Hey guys. Learning lots, keep it up and thanks for taking the time.
Kelly Roy
Your Canadian friend

Hey Guys thanks for the Sports Series… Great stuff. We are getting into basketball season and ISO 3200 only gets 1/320 shutter speed…. YUCK…. Gotta find a way to light this gym.
One other thing that probably needs mentioning is the cycling of the lights with the metal halide gym lights… YUCK again.
Thanks again.
DSF
Whew!!!! Just caught up on all the episodes. Been busy for the last few months. Looking good guys, but I wish you would take an episode or two and really get in depth with something… lighting, posing… whatever. Don’t get me wrong, I love the format, but most of the time it feels like you just scratch the surface of a given subject then move on. Keep on shooting guys …be watching you tomorrow at B&H.
Thanks another great show
I love D-Town TV !!

What are you thoughts….
Great show as always, also awsome info on the live fiew tip for WB thanks again
It was nice to start my Monday off with D-Town TV.
Tip: Shooting in total darkness: As part of my night time gear, I carry a firefighters spotlight around my waste. This way when I need a focus point in total darkness, I turn on the light and direct the beam to my focus point.
This is my third post in this thread…my previous two wouldn’t show up for some reason..hope this one does.
Anyway…from my previous post…I just wanted to know that you guys are doing a great job..kudos!!
Hey..can you guys do a quick compare between ball-head and joystick-head. Which one would you recommend to beginners like me??
Thanks in advance,

How do I get a media pass, now that I know how to shoot sports?
Hello you guys!!
great show!
Nice show guys. Thanks
How about having a show on third party lenses, like the Sigma 150 and some of the offering from Tamron and Tokina, that compare favorably with the Nikon and Canon lenses?
Enjoy your shows.
Another splendiforous show!
You guys rock.
Looking forward to the live show at 2:30 today.
Just found you guys. Very good stuff!
So much great information!! Thanks Guys!
Thanks for a great show guys!
I would appreciate one expansion on Scott’s reason for using aperture mode for shooting sports and anything else he does specific to that mode. Not trying to start a debate here, just curious about the reason behind it since all the other recommendations I have heard about suggest shutter priority mode and I even thought this from Scott’s Digital Photography book vol 1.
Also, would Scott perhaps use aperture priority and then auto ISO to ensure he gets the needed shutter speed to stop the action?
Thanks again for a great series.
Great show guys, lots of interesting ideas for improving my sports shooting!
This sports photography series is absolutely awesome! This particular show has inspired me to connect with my inner JPEG–let’s see what happens. Thanks Guys
Great show guys. Let’s see some more themed shows.
Great show and tips all around.
Lots of info… great show.

Great show!! Thanks for the sports shooting tips.
u are amaizing )
Another informative show.
You rock as usual!
you are great )
Hi Guys. I’ve been watching your show from the beginning. From the season two you’re talking about not only Nikon DSLR’s but all of them. But actually only about Nikon and Canon. Why not about other brands? Why not about Pentax for example? I’m a huge fan of this manufacturer, using K20D (which obviously isn’t the best body on the market) but especially now, when the K-5 is out offering so much interesting features and performance of nearly D700 as I heard it is worth mention camera I think.
great show, as usual.
Thanks for the info
Just discovered the DTownTV site today and have to say you guys do a great job! Awesome insider tips from seasoned pros!
Hi Guys!
This episode has to be my fav due to the discussion of when to use adobeRGB or sRGB. Also the fact of when you should be using the Raw settings and when not to. Great show guys!
Great info concerning the jpeg vs raw for sports.
Outstanding as always. Keep it coming, please!?!
Great show, guys. Learned a lot of stuff I can use and I don’t shoot sports (if I can help it).
Thanks guys. Great stuff.
Week after week you just keep them coming. Yet another great show. It’s not like that favorite TV show that you watched over time and it just seems to run out of steam and next thing you know you haven’t watched it for weeks. Each week I can’t wait to view the next show and the content is always fresh! And has anyone ever told you that you guys ROCK?
YEA!
Sorry I missed your live webcast from B&H. I still have a day job to support my habbit.
great show as usual
Thanks for the tips guys!
More great tips!
Hey great show thanks for all the hard work!
Great show guys
Great Show!!
Awesome show, I would like to see you guys talk more about how you prepare/calibrate a monitor so you see something close to what you’re gonna get when printing shots. I think that would be an excellent addition to your already great gamma of information.
I always enjoy the show. I wished I could have seen your live Webcast from B&H, hopefully you will have it available to see at a later time,
I look forward to the new show every week!!!
Being winter is here, what is the best way to WB the snow?
Cheers
Layers book was the book that helped me finally understand photoshop! thanks Matt!
I would love to see some action sport photography with speedlights, like on location stuff!
Thanks guys!
Another great show.. Thanks!
Hi Guys, what can I say
good stuff. Did converted a couple of friends to be your faithful viewers now
This was tight!
I only found your podcast on iTunes a few weeks ago, sensational. I have been following Matt’s work on photoshopelementsuser.com. You guys are easy to listen to and you have a great on nonsense approach.
WOW! scott’s tips before the first break are some of the most practical tips ever, for both pros and amateurs. Seriously, No one can beat NAPP team.
Thanks guys
Just discovered D – Town TV today. I really enjoyed it. Thank you for the excellent tips and demo’s on the gear. I am looking forward to the next episode.
Always enjoy the show a lot. Love to see technique stuff. If you are the family photographer who spend way to much on gear (according to family), you don’t want to mess up those Xmas portraits. Maybe some tips there. Keep it up. Cheers fm Sydney, Oz.
Another awesome show…Keep’em coming!
Is there any chance that the Monday s live show is uploaded as an extra episode?
Great Show guys!
Hi Guys! I’ve been watching our show since the beginning. It’s great! But there is one thing that bothers me. From the beginning of season two you’re telling people that this is about all DSLR’s but covers only Nikon and Canon products. I understand that these are the most popular brands in US but there are others, like Sony, Olympus and my personal favourite Pentax. Maby you could tell us something about that manufacturers? Maby a show all about them, and only about them. In the end they’re doing a really nic job with their cameras and lenses. For example Pentax K-5 that in some opinion is equal or even sometimes better to Nikon D700 in terms of picturequality, in the same time offering a lot more functionality in body itself (like built-in shake reduction system).
Please consider this in the future. Thanks.
Thanks for all the tips!
Oh, I didn’t see that my previous coment has been aded, sory to repeat myself
hi Matt , hi Scott.
Great show again.
Another good feature of the Black Rapid Strap is that you can put your cell phone, batteries, Memory Cards etc in the Shoulder strap, so you don’t need to carry a bag with you.

Hi guys, great show. Thanks!
great Show!
Keep em coming!!
Is it too late to win Matt’s Book?
Great show, guys.
Great show, as usual!
Even as a Canon shooter i’ve watched this show from the very beginning… Always interesting and worthwhile. Great work guys
Joined Kelby and love all the training I get from the comfort of my home. Being an avid amateur photographer, I have learned a great deal about my new Nikon D300S – things I would have never picked up reading the manual only -
Thanks Scott and team
Can I see the video of the actual B&H presentation after it’s live?. I’ve been trying to find it online at KelbyTV but it connects me to the thanksgiving DTown with the Ad.
As always some very useful tips. Some other ideas to cover:
File Info: you touched on it when you mentioned about sending your photographs to agencies – what information you should put in the metadata.
I recently sent my camera back to Nikon, thinking it was faulty. {A lazy shutter} Turned out to be operator error. How about a session on what to check if you think you have a fault.
Thanks for the show.
Another great show! The jpeg selection for shooting
sports was a major suprise for me. Thanks!
Thank you guys.
Watching from Riga, Latvia. Great job!
Thanks for the info.
Greetings Guys;
I just wanted to thank you for setting aside time, knowledge and resources for the photography community. Particulary for beginners like me.
Keep up the good job!!!! Big Kudos
Hy guys… It’s the first time I watch this podcast. Thanks for all the tips!
great show
This episode had at least three or four tips I can’t wait to try. A bonus is the tips in some of the above comments–about the other viewer’s experiences and settings, and more detailed explanation of the reasoning behind some of your tips.
In addition, some of the tips in the comments for future things to cover were interesting–winter photography, etc.
Thanks for your show!
Great show once again even if I don’t do much sports photography.

I have a question for you guys about Lichtroom 3 ,
When I start the program it is blocked by the message “Lightroom – Catalogus openen : _DSC5969.lrcat” and their it stops.
I re-installed Lightroom, I fixed Lightroom, I deleted lightroom and cleaned the registry with differend JV16 and with regedit.exe, re-installed lightroom, every time the same message appered.
Perhaps you have the sollution
What should I to do to let Lightroom to work again?

Great show guys. Would like to hear your thoughts on Auto ISO – when/if you use the feature and why/why not.

Another informative show. The holy debate just never ends…I am going to give jpg another shot now.
Excellent, informative, funny – everything stops for DTown tv! Can you tell me the intro music title to the advertisement at the start of each show?
Great show.
Great tips!…Just to add about the tip of keeping a spare battery in your pocket. This is two-fold, especially if the weather is cold by keeping the battery warm.
Thank you for the great tip on setting white balance using “live view” . I will give it a try on my next dog show shoot.
Great show guys…liked the tip on carrying a flashlight
awesome tip on jpeg or raw. many thanks!
[...] — Our videographer and photographer Matt Lange was recently mentioned on an episode of Kelby TV (Scott Kelby’s online show). Check that out HERE. [...]
Is it still too late to win Matt’s book for this week??
Any suggestions for shooting from a step ladder? I had my RRS ball head land on my head. when trying a rather precarious setup. I’m sure you used ladders to get a higher perspective. How do you anchor your cameras?
Thanks
Nice tips on sports. I liked especially the stuff about gear.
Great show!
I know! Am I too late to win Matt’s book?
Doggoneit, you guys blew my source for batteries. I’ve been using Surefire for years — and today when I needed another box, they are SOLD OUT. You should contact them for sponsorship possibilities.

hi Guys! It’s my first show and i think i’m still addict
i dont speak very well in english buttttt i try lol…
thank you for your great work!
Nice show.
But when do you guys stop saying this bullshit about RAW files?
If you shoot in RAW, you don’t tell your camera to switch all picture manipulation (like sharpening, saturation and so on..) off. You don’t tell it:
You tell it: Keep everything. Keep the original picture information and keep my picture manipulation settings.
The problem is: 3rd party programs (not released by the camera manufacturer) are not able to read it.
A more versatile RAW standard could fix all that but no one seems to be interested in such a smart solution.
[...] that happens. If you want to know more about sports photography check out episodes 59, 60, and 61 from D-Town TV that explore the equipment you will need for sports photography. Football: [...]
I love this show! I was looking for some of the best photo ideas when I found this and I couldn’t help but read and enjoy. Thanks for the post.
