You guys rock! Hey! I’ve watched every show from the beginning of season 1 and love it! Keep it up!
Good show. Love the photoshop mat tutorial
Great tips and show. Thanks for keeping it interesting and lively!
Great information. Thanks.
Hey Guys, an absolutely fabulous show! Thanks for tips on down low perspective and creating a false matt frame.
Now for my weekly and coincidentally 55th request: Would you please do a discussion on the do’s and don’ts of memory card useage?
Thanks for another great show guys
Thanks for the fake mat tip. Looking forward to the training on ‘photographing children’.
Thank you guys for all your hard work, great show
Great Show
Good show. Do you have any tips for carrying comfortable and safe your camera on longer mountain trips (4 to 9 hours)? I know you can put it in your backpack; however, there is a great change you miss that great shot. Carrying it over your shoulder and around your neck works; however, it tends to bounds and hit a rock if you bend over a bit while climbing a rock.
I like the Photoshop tutorial
Great show, thanks. Viveza 2 please.
Tissue in a glass. Great tip!!! Thx.

One more thing: I keep seeing other commenters’ details in my comment form all the time. Seems to be the previous commenter. For example, now I can see Shaun in the “name” field and his e-mail address (ending in …54@yahoo.com). A bug?
Awesome tips as always. The only flaw in this show is that it’s only once a week. It’s not like you guys are busy or anything like that.
Great show as always. Can’t wait for the next episode.
Another great show. While I don’t shoot models in a studio I thought it was a great tip and could be used elsewhere for full portraits.

the D7000 is coming out. will you guys do some review for the autofocus on that camera when shooting video? how does it work and how accurate is it?
I’m shooting with D90 but I feel like its image colors losing ( I dont know how to depict that, but the colors on image are brighter than before when I compare with previous work). yeah, I have to adjust every single image on lighting room 3. To much work!!!

Great show, but it would have been better with a Cheap Shots segment.
Great show as always! Greetings
If I don’t win the Viveza 2 software this week and end up having to buy the Nik Complete Collection, is there a huge difference (other than price) between the Photoshop Vs Lightroom-only plugin versions? Thanks.
Good show. The post processing tips are great but they are geared for people using Photoshop CS. Not everyone can afford CS. Perhaps you could do two videos and supply a link for those individuals using the baby brother of Photoshop–the Elements version–and work arounds for the tip(s) in Elements.
Hi !!!!!!
Great show as always, good tips too.
I have just finished reading book 1 of your collection Scott great, about to start reading 1 of matts book now.
Thanks for the help & support.

Hey guy’s love what you give away for free. I am wondering if you could give another fake mat class where everything would align from left to right instead of having to guess. I have come up with a few ways but would love to see what you all come up with. Here is a example of what I am talking about – http://www.flickr.com/photos/enduringpromise/4282408723/
Great Show Guys!!! How about having Terry White on the show.Matt u need to have ur own app for the iphone, that would ROCK!!! Thanks for being great teachers.

Great tips this week guys!
Nice!
Robert Caplin does some fantastic work, thanks for the link.
Hi!
sure could use viveza.
scott, should you really hold the camera body (during that model shoot segment) and not the 70-200 lens? i thought that put strain on the mount. maybe i’m wrong on that.
Lloo

Great show Guys, Would it be possible to do a segment on the difference between 35mm film and digital in terms of quality.
keep up the good work.
Hello guys,
My name is Marius and I am from Bucharest, Romania. I saw all the episodes until now. I learn a lot from you and i hope that i will continue to learn. You have a grate show.
I have little question for both of you. Can you make a short description about what type of lens you should use or it is better to use when you shoot things like a sport, or a wedding, portraits, landscapes, wild life…etc. For example, i don’t know in which situations, i should use a fish eye lens or an wide angle lens. What i want from you it is something like this: when you want to shoot this it is better to use this type/category of lenses.
Best regards!
great show once again!
Nice as usual.
Hi matt my mat frames look great thanks
Once again, a useful show.
I’d love to see something on slow sync flash.

Great show… looking forward to the next 55..
I really like Jack’s tip on shooting when the sun is down. Thanks
As always, an informative show. I’m glad you covered about shooting angle when photographing models, something I’ve been telling people about for decades. I usually like to shoot on one of those padded office chairs with pneumatic height adjustment and casters. I’ll use this with a tripod when shooting catalog, since the subject doesn’t require a lot of reframing. I’ll scoot around the studio floor on my chair if I do need to change angles. My next project is to come up with a way to attach the camera to something like a large Bogen arm which in turn is attached near the bottom of the chair just above the legs. Either that or its time to buy a small camera stand or lockable casters for my tripod.
Great show!!
Really liked the perspective tip. Thanks
Great show! Liked the faux matte.
Another great show, guys.
another great show, I still need help in metering using the bulb mode, thanks!

Thanks for a great show guys – awesome content as always.
Great show as always. It would be cool if you guys could get reps from lens manufacturers on the show from time to time. (nikon canon tamron sigma etc.) Maybe show off their wares and give the viewers some ideas about what might fit their budget and needs. I’m sure it’s not as easy as it sounds, but you do have a pretty big viewership every week.

Hi.
I like your show. Nice tips every week for us but – why don’t you tell nothing about Gimp? Sure, photoshop ist the best but a lot of people use Gimp to touch the photos.

Thanks from Germany
Torsten
Nice show
I love D-Town TV
Another great week! Nice show.
Hi great show as always!
Recently I noticed some dirt *inside* my Nikon 35mm f/1.8. It doesn’t show up in my photos at smaller f numbers but certainly noticeable using an f number bigger than f/8. I was wondering if you can give a tip on how to clean that just like you did with cleaning the camera sensor or if that is just something I shouldn’t be doing can you recommend a good place to do so?
Thanks!
How about a segment on shooting miniature Shetland ponies?
Thank you , great show.

great show! love Robert Caplin’s stuff!
awesome another great show in the bag
Hey, Jack’s “giant softbox” was a great tip. Could you guys go over star-trail photography? Cause it hasn’t been in any previous episodes!!! I’ve tried a couple of times myself but I keep on getting these blue/red pixel anomalies in my photos (i usually shoot Jpeg). I’ve taken shots from ISO200 – 3200 and wide apertures 2.8 or 3.5 but still have grainy photos. Thanks guys
Just started watching and trying to get caught up with past episodes, awesome stuff lovin it

Always learning something watching D-Town, keep it up and thank you for doing so..

Oh, and of course, “Pick me! Pick me!”
Excellent show as usual. Great to see some food photography. I’ll have to check out Joe Glyda’s class on kelby training.
Hay Mat,
How did you make the frame on the photo you were showing? Is it done the same way as you were building the Mat in Photo Shop???
Hello from Texas…Scott, Matt, great show….love the tutorial on faux mat. I look foreward to your show every week….keep up the great work…Captain Mike

Hi, i really like you show, and i’m new at this. i bought a Sony a230 with 18-55mm and a 70-300 mm f/4-5,6 DG Macro, is this some good stuff? i want to use it for taking pictures of my animals and nature..
Great post processing part. For a guy converted from film to DSLR, Adobe photoshop surprises me every day!
Hi. I love your show. and i want to know if a Sony a230 with 18-55 and Sigma 70-300 mm f/4-5,6 DG Macro, is good for taking pictures of animals and nature.. do you have som ideas?
As always, good show guys. I loved the studio perspective tip, but it was a little basic. Could you do some stuff on either camera holding techniques or perhaps posing? That would be fantastic!
Keep up the good work. You really inspire us!
Hey You GUYS, Justin Beiber is CUTE!
fabuous! love the matting tip Matt.

)
I really appreciated Matt’s tip on creating the mat around photos. That will be useful. Thanks. Richard
Thanks 4 All your tips !!!
You Are The Best !!!
A pleasure to watch as always…….
Just curious, what settings did Jack use to take the picture? I’m a beginner and learning. I’m guessing that he was the lens wide open, a high ISO and 1/60th shutter speed? I’m probably totally wrong, but appreciate any comments.
Thanks
great show
nice one guys
Sign me up for the Nik Viveza2!
Hey Guys thanks for the photoshop tip. it is a great way to present your work..Thanks !!!

YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING TEACHERS!
another great show guys. Im a fairly new Nikon shooter and am learning alot.
Another super strong show by the dynamic duo!
Great show again, I too like “Matt’s matts” tip…how about a tip on updating your camera’s firmware. I know it’s kinda camera specific but you can cover the big two quickly.
I love to use the Nik Software
Tried the shooting portraits low tip. However ended up with a perspective problem. It looks like the subject is falling back into the background?
Guys. love your shows!
I am a LightRoom user along with all the NIk Software plugins for Lightroom and one question I wold like to see answered is how you balance using the Develop controls within LightRoom with using the Nik plugins.
Should we use them with the plugins or instead off.
Regards
David
Love the show
How many times do I have to tell you how cool you are before I win something????

Great shows, when you live in northern Ontario you need all the help you can get.
Great tips especially when you live in northern Ontario you need all the help you can find
great show!
Hi.
It’s been a while since I heard anyone mention DNG vs. NEF etc. I slavishly convert my NEFs to DNG because Matt told me to. Is that still the conventional wisdom or am I just a slave to Adobe?
Great as always!
Great tips this week – the full-length shot and Matt’s matte tip (couldn’t resist; don’t know how you could!) will be very useful.
Like Mark K, I slavishly convert my NEFs to DNG in lightroom. However I can’t seem to find a way to retrieve the shutter count metadata?
Is this the only pitfall of converting to DNG?
Great show again, thank you guys!
great show
Another great show!
Thank you guys
Byron
Waiting for the next Photo Rock!!

Good Show Guys
Great show ! Thanks for the tips.
Another great set of tips! Thanks!
Great show!
A good possible cheapshot’s segment could be on a DIY travel case for camera gear. One solution I have found for those looking at a good way to fly with camera gear is to buy a carry on suitcase/bag for around $50 such as http://www.luggageonline.com/product.cfm?product_ID=7055, and then buy foam from http://www.mypackagingfoam.com/PackagingConfigurator.aspx?CategoryName=SoftGreyPolyurethane. You can enter the size you need, then cut out the slots for your camera, lenses, etc. I am in the process of making this, and so far it seems to be coming together. You can build a nice, sturdy case to carry a lot of gear for under $100. I know the Lowepro type cases are great, but they’re also $299+ and if you’re looking for a good way to carry your gear with you safely from point A to point B it’s hard to beat this!
Nice show!
Have you noticed that you have something which looks like sensor dust in your studio shoots? It’s located where Scott is standing and is usually on his forehead or to the left of his head. Distracted me over the past episodes
Would like to see more tips on preparing images for printing. Like sharpening and other fine tuning you would recommend.
Best show ever
OMW Matt’s impression killed me! HAHA made my day….Great Show
Love the show! Any chance you could do some tips about how to shoot through windows, particularly at night?

Great show, loved the mat tip as well. How do you get the faux frame around the outside as well? I see it’s not just a simple black border, it has some texture too.
I love your show and I can’t wait to try the Photoshop Matting idea!!
Really nice post, thank you, best website ever
Hey! Quick question that’s totally off topic. Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My web site looks weird when browsing from my iphone. I’m trying to find a theme or plugin that might be able to fix this problem. If you have any suggestions, please share. With thanks!
