You guys really are the best. I wait for your new episodes every week.

You are right on, use the equipment that your friends use so you can borrow.
You can never take too many pictures.

THANKS!!!!!
Rich Hollingsworh
I was turn-on to your website a week ago. I look at all for your old show , all 53 show really great stuff
keep it up Thanks
Jefferson Der
Great stuff guys!
Re: Selecting a camera. You might mention that one, of many, criteria in choosing a camera is how well does it fit your hand. If a camera is not comfortable, you are less likely to use it or get good shots with it.
Great episode.
Man, I *really* need a set of those Flash Bender things. Oh, and you guys DO rock!
[...] This post was mentioned on Twitter by PHotography, Orlando Photography and Photography Advisor, Alltop Photography. Alltop Photography said: Episode 54 http://bit.ly/bU494L Photography.alltop [...]
Great show as usual… especially enjoyed the post tip on shooting at f/1.4!
Rockin show…
What unbridled enthusiasm! Thanks again for another terrific show and great tip on blending two photo’s for a nice crisp focus on the eyes.
Oh, by the way, if you have opportunity would you please do a show on the do’s and dont’s of memory card usage. Thanks a lot.
Great show guys!
I look forward to watching the show every week!
Awesome segment!
You guys rock–unless the show is a little subdued. Then you guys jazz. If you’re really boring, then you guys opera.
Thanks for the show.
Great Show Guys!!!
Matt, Great tip on DOF with the 1.4 lens.
I love everything you guys do at KelbyTV. Keep up the good work!
Thanks, more great tips!
Great show
cool Stuff
WOW!!! AMAZING!!!! LUDICROUS!!!
haha. great show.
90% of my photography is outdoor sports photography. I would like to add that buying a f2.8 lens is worth it from a depth of field point of view. I shoot everything at f2.8 to be sure the sidelines are blurry. It also helps when the clouds come out to gather every bit of light you can gather.
Hi Scott, See you next week in London – you can hand deliver the Rogue Flash Benders. Ha! Ha!
Terrific show guys! I really liked the PS tip on shooting wide open and how to fix it. So easy!
Re: Larry’s tip…one thing that I was shown when I bought my Rocket blower was to have the camera lens opening facing down when blowing. Otherwise you will just move any dust on the mirror around and leave it in the camera. They do work great, though!
I have checked out the Light Benders before and I thought they were very cool (and more “flexible” than the Honl ones). Haven’t bought them yet…maybe I will win them instead!
–John
I try to do the same when changing lenses as well, keep the openings, both camera and lens downward as much as possible.
I would suggest using the mirror lock up and holding the camera facing down. Use only a good quality blower. Some blowers will blow fine power or other junk from the inside of the blower.
Guy’s
I love the show and the cheap shot’s but this episode??
Dust is the digital peril, Larry showed a blower pushing air into a body, with the body opening pointing upwards. That will force the dust further in!!
Having the opening facing down and blowing at least there is a chance of it moving ‘down & out’.
And I can’t get the light benders in the UK, so come on I need to win
all the best
Richard
Tips and info on dtown is great
You guys are ridiculous.
That was amazing!!1!!1!!
Now let me actually watch the episode.
Seriously? I’m not sure it’s possible to have too much fake enthusiasm.
!!!1!
Wait … no, that’s not actually true. But it might not be possible to have too many flash benders.
Another great show with great tips
Awesome info as usual – thank you!!
WOW!!! A-MAZING!!!
Keep it up!
“Wow. That was amazing.”
How was that?
as someone who uses bits of cardboard a a primary light modifier I feel I should leave a comment to upgrad me set up
LOL, You guys are awesome!
Hey guys, great show. Just wondering, did Matt say, “HOAH everybody” at the begining of the show. I ask because that is an Army saying. I was in for ten years. Any, HOAH, great show!

Hey guys
Great show! I have learned so much from D-Town TV and is still learning every week.
I have an idea for a topic you could cover: On camera flashes. What should you look for when buying one? What if you also want to use it off camera what should you look for then?
Looking forward to next episode.
All the best.
Great show guys, great tip about which camera should i buy!!!!
Great fantstic great enthusiasm.
but seriously i got a lot out of this episode.
Kepp it up
another great one guys. Like to add that the different camera companies seem to have different ergonomics in their build. Really found that to be big for something I was going to be holding for long periods of time.
Hiya, nice tip with the double shallow pic.
/F
Dudes! You Rock! Great Show! Flashbenders are cool! Another really great show too!
Great show again guys. Matt, thanks for that tip about focus in portraits, I always wondered how to do that.

Love the way you handle criticism. You were so enthusiastic about the tips. Just one thing, some of the commercials I think I seen close to 50 times already. I hope you don’t take this wrong and make next’s weeks episode, Moose shooting the buffalo commercial running continuously though out the episode. Great job guys!!!!!!!
I was laughing out loud! Great excitement and humor together. Love it!!!

What camera should I buy? … just kidding!!!
You guys ROCK!!!
I could use those light benders…to go along with my Nikon SB 26 units…Thanks for all the great info…
I prefer to buy a brand of cameera that is different than my friends so that I CAN’T loan them my equipment.
Get it
HA HA . . .
Enjoyed your show as always. Look forward to it each week. Thanks for your time!
When you blow the dust out of your camera, it helps to have the camera face down so the dust drops out instead of settling back into the camera.
You might mention shooting sports at night outside is big factor in selecting camera’s and lenses.(HS football or soccer)
It looks like Cliff could use a CameraSlinger.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00384SSLI/ref=oss_product
Really good advice for buying/choosing a new camera. Loved the eye blending trick, too. However, I do have one comment, when you come back from another photographer giving a tip, you’re too enthusiatic!!

Hey wondering if you guys can do a segment on reversing lens for macro (when you’re to cheap to buy a new lens…hehe). Maybe on larry’s cheap shots?? I’ve reversed a 50mm lens but here you can get better results stacking them. You guys rock fyi…please enter me in comp.
Awesome show!
Another great show, thank you. Loved the tip on which brand to buy!
Great show! Cliffs website: http://www.cmphotography.com/site.htm
Thanks, guys! You perfectly articulated what I’ve been trying to tell friends about camera/lens purchases.
The tip on difference mode is very cool – but you should give away one those 85 mm:-))
Great tip by Cliff!!!
Cliff is the man
Great tip for the 85mm lens. I’ve learned a ton from you guys and Scott’s Digital Photography books.
Greetings from Romania! This episode is a goof one.
sorry for the my mistake in writing it should be “good”
You guys rock ! Nice show !
Great show ! Thanks
Thanks for the tips on which camera to buy!
Another great show! Thanks for the tip on shooting with an 85mm f/1.4!

One thing, you guys just rock and most people love what you do so don’t worry about the critiques
You know what make a good show, go with that.

Great show. A suggestion for a future show, “how do pros use a monopod to steady the camera in particular with heavy lenses”.
Another awesome show!!
Good show!
Great show. Love the enthusiasm.
REALLY want a flashbender!
Really good advice for 85mm lens. Loved the eye blending trick, too.
Great show guys.
On the food photography theme, check out the foodscapes at Carl Warner’s website: http://www.carlwarner.com/warner.html – outstandingly different..
Great stuff this week as usual.
Great shows guys. Hey Larry you want to point the camera down when using the blower.
Thanks guys. I especially liked Matt’s tip about the two subjects in Photoshop shot with shallow DOF.
Great show. I’ve watched all your shows and few of them multiple times. As of this posting I have a 1 in 117th chance to win the Flash Benders. Keep up the great work.
Nice show, especially the tip with the 85mm 1.4 lens and photoshop.
Thx.
Benny
Hi guys,
Love your show. Could you cover certain aspects of Photoshop Elements in your show? or is that a question for Photoshop world? Just asking…
Thanks.
Larry: hold the camera upside down when blowing the dust out
Matt: great tip on the portraits!
couldnt you expand this show a bit, with lets say 10 minutes or so?
As always an excellent episode. Very exciting!
Excellent show. Keep it up!
Larry should flip up the mirror & hold the camera upside down before using the blower….
Great show! I’m waiting for the next one.
Thank you!
This show can go forever with the changing world of photography and learners coming every day tips are what keep ppl on watching here .
Bring your gang down here to Oz plenty to shoot here and location shooting will be advantageous to all

(any chance of the Prize as compensation? lol)
Hi
as usual another great show and great tips
good show of enthusiasm. as always a good show.
I like that rather than telling us about the new lens you also show us how to use it, that’s cool!
Hello!
Hi.
Amazing!
Great show !
Please pick me.
;(
Another great show. Thanks for sharing.
my turn to WIN!!
Scott and Matt,
To look like you are really impressed with the tips, just pretend you are front row center of your local adult entertainment facility.
As always, great show!
Hey
Great tips . Looking forward to the show with Joe Glyda.
You guys are funny and informative. Great tips for deciding which camera or lense to buy.
Thanks
Janet
Perfect! Grüße aus Österreich. =)
Great show guys. Gained a lot from this episode. Cliff Mautner rocks (almost as much as you guys)!
Cheers.
Nice job
Thanks
Dudes… I was watching this today from my desk @work. I went to the bathroom real quick @the 1st break and when I came back to my desk I was like “WoW! This is great – the guys are back on and the show is going again!” I was very enthusiastic… it was just ducky.
Can I win a prize now??
lol!!
Wonderful show and great tips!
Will you buy me a new lens??? Please?
You guys rock \m/ (> . <) \m/
Wonderful tips today. Thanks again for the show!
After watching Larry on Cheap Shots I was wondering if I could send my camera to Matt in order to have him clean my sensor. Thanks for all the great information.
WOW, what an incredible show! You guys ROCK!
Can I have my light bender now?
Great show, I learn something each episode.
Thanks
Another great show. I like the tip on purchasing cameras so you can share stuff with your friends.
Great show, awsome, austanding!!!!!! Hey, what about my advise on been able to watch your videos on the iPad.
Thanks for the great tips
Great tips. Dave Glida is awesome too.
Another good tip on choosing which brand to buy – pick them up and see how they feel in your hands. For me personally, Canon just doesn’t feel “right” in my hands like a Nikon or, what I currently use, a Sigma.
Matt, was that a Windows laptop you did your tip on? Shame on you
Just submitting my correct backup url for backup website.
Those segues totally rocked! Awesome!
great show, as usual. i learn something new every time.
love the show
You guys rock as always.
You guys rock as usual. Nice enthusiasm.
You guys gave it your all that’s for sure. Way to go!!
Great show! Good advice on gear sharing =). How about a segment on underwater photography with DSLRs. Talk about gear intensive!
Great enthusiasm!
great job Thanks for the tips
bend me BABY!
I still want Larry to have his own show. He’s funny and all his information is useful.
Great stuff as always. Any advice on getting group shots? It’s easy enough to line people up like ducks in a gallery, but it’s dreadfully dull. What do you do to make it suck less?
I enjoyed the enthusiasm, but really I just want those flash benders.
Here is a cheap shots suggestion for Larry Becker:
Put double stick tape inside the end cap of your lens (the cap on the part of the lens that mates with the camera). Any dust on this end of the lens that is floating around will fall off and stick to the tape. This suggestion came to me from travel photographer Nevada Wier.
And Larry: Always have the camera facing down when you blow it out. Also, use the camera mirror up setting when doing it.
Great job thanks for the tips
Wow Matt, 85m ƒ/1.4…. OMG!!! Wonderful PS tip!
BTW, which camera should I buy? LOL!!!
Keep the good work ! Great show…
the 85 1.4 tip rocks
thanks alot
peace
Another great episode. Thanks for the tip from Cliff. That was helpful.
Hey Guy, great show.
Enjoy the tips
Hi , whatever
appreciate the show
great stuff once again! enjoying it.
I have a question for you, do you think you would be able to dig in your archives and talk about that old Nikon D50? I know it’s really old school for you but I am very interested in becoming a photographer and this is what I am using.. Thanks Scott.
I’m a Canon shooter…and all my friends are Nikon shooters..I CAN’T borrow equipment…however, my pics are better!
You guys rock!
YOU GUYS REALLY DO ROCK. GREAT TIPS.
Rock’n show as usual.
Thanks
Scott and Matt you guys are so kick-butt and cool (I need those light shapers)
Great job!
Great
When are you going to have a review for SB-700?
Great show as always!!
Hey Larry…good tip but when using the blower, hold the camera FACE DOWN. Gravity is our friend here.
Great work, love the show!
Thanks for another great show. Gotta love that enthusiasm when returning from other segments!!!
Audio was much better this week. Very nice lav placement. And your comfort before the camera has materially improved, this series. Fine work.
I’m trying to be more excited with my comments regarding your show! THAT SHOW WAS AWESOME, YOU GUYS KILLED IT THAT TIME!
Man!! When you guys come back from a segment you both TOTALLY ROCK with excitement!! It’s AWESOME! Almost electrifying, all the enthusiasm. Rockin!
Good advice on buying a camera.
Everyone must really want the flash benders…don’t ever remember seeing this many comments.
great show as usual!!
How about some info on the new HDR program from NIK vs. Ps.
Great show!
Damn, Rogue FlashBenders are not even available where I live and you just give them away.
Matt, it’s not impossible that the person who suggested the Nikon vs Canon solution was Larry Becker. He even put this advice on his blog in 2009 along with the Mac vs PC comparison.
Once again, thanks fo the show, this one especially, because I really wondered what kind of gear configuration does Cliff Mautner use (in fact I kinda expected that he would use slingshot straps, but he somehow manages to live without them ;]).
You guys do a great job of providing usable tips to both professional and amateur enthusiasts.
I got a big laugh at the “over the top” enthusiasm. Again, thanks for making this free for us poor, struggling shutterbugs!
good show as always
Like the combination of taking the photo then seeing the post production.
Which camera should I buy?
Thanks a lot!
pick me pick pick me pick me. I promise to take great shots with them
The tip about shooting two people with a shallow DOF was great Matt! Thank you!
Thanks for the new episode.
I’d skip the false enthusiam though.
This was one really great show! I’m so glad I watched today. Amazingly enough you answered two of my most burning questions. How to shoot a wedding processional and how to shoot two people with shallow depth of field. Totally learned how to do both. Waaay awesome!!!
Good advice on camera recommendations. There’s one more variable to add to the mix: If you shoot outdoors, what do you shoot? If sports, do you need a quick shutter/focus response? Do you shoot air shows and need lots of frames per second? Those would lend themselves towards a $1000 camera…
Hi guys,
Great show again, especially the part on combining two frames when shooting with swallow depth of field. Great idea!
Keep up the good work.
André
You guys rock!
Great show again, thanks!
Guys You Rock!
Another great show!
Interesting comment on the relationship of light to the quality of the camera!
Can you guys cover using GPS. Thanks
Hey Guys,
Great show as usual. You are both hilarious and it shows you love your jobs. Matt, I would like to have see the final product on your tip for the 85mm lens.
Be blessed,
José
GUYS THAT WAS AMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZING!!!!!
I wanna bend some light!
Thanks for the time and information. I’m new to your show, and I enjoy going through the passed episodes. Learning a lot. keep it coming.
Great Cheap Shots. I actually do this. However, one suggestion that I was told is to actually hold the camera with the lens opening down as you blow. This way the dust blows down and out. Otherwise you’ll just be blowing the dust around inside.
P is for Push here dummy
Very funny guys! Great show.
Great show and great tips.
Hi! Good show. Thanks.
I really liked the tip about auto align layers used for shallow depth of field
Great job as usual. Can’t wait til you back in Boston.
great work! love it!
Love to be hooked up with this weeks give away.
hi guys
you rock
Great as usually
Wow, I didn’t actually expect you guys to take any notice of my comments (I was that guy) about the post-link enthusiasm (made a couple of shows back). That genuinely made my day!
Though now you’ve got the hang of it, it’s probably safe to go to -1EV on the enthusiasm compensation dial!
Great series!
Yeah! Yahoo! Awesome! That was my enthusiasm after the show. If it weren’t free i’d still be ignorant…
nice show guys keep it up
Love the show! Great tips!
GQ
A tip for Larry on how to clean the sensor the “dry way”. I simply use my vacuum cleaner. Works fine even if the mirror is down, but of course, it works better if the mirror is up.
Cheers guys.
Great tips as usual.
PH
Are cheap shots on here going to be the same as your new cheap shots episodes? I enjoy them either way
Great tip on SDOF, is there any way to do this without taking 2 pics, photoshop and the whole 9 yeards.
i’m sure there is some way to focus both faces while conpensating something.
what is the best f-point in such situations.
Thank you so much for the tips.
Another great show guys, keep ‘em coming.
You guys have waaay too much fun (as you should)! Thanks for the tips!
Wow! you guys are the Cheech and Chong of the photograhic world …. love your engery …. mmm, Scott dressed up today? nice job. Matt, you surf dude you, caught any good waves? Oh yea, by the way …. thanks for the tips. Cheers, and have a great day!
Great show as always. I’m thinking of getting a D7000 and have been reading about the contrast detection autofocusing system in that camera. It would be good to hear a little about phase detection vs. contrast detection — pros and cons.
Like Larry I rather not clean the sensor myself though I don’t have much choice in the matter. I do use a dust blower and I just got the nerve up to get a sensor cleaner kit for the stuff that the blower doesn’t get.
Nice show.
Does the D300s do high speed sync at shutter speeds higher than 1/320? if so, how? I love the show and have learned a great deal!
Nice tips guys, those really help!
Great Show and you know how to keep to a time schedule unlike another which shall not be named.
Great Show and you show that you can keep to a time schedule unlike another which we will not name.
Nice show!
good tip matt!
I’m saying “hi or whatever”. I’d LOVE to have the BIG light bender!
Just discovered D-TownTV…great stuff!

Dtown Rocks – thanks guys
Great show. Much improved sound.
Nice Episode …
I need some tips about olympus DSLR.
Another informative episode. Thanks.
Flashbenders — bend it, baby!
Oops, that’s the tagline for another accessory…
Is it not a good idea to hold the camera upside down so that the dust falls out, instead of just swirling around inside? Just a thought, great show, have a rockin good week.
Just an idea, with off camera flash being a big deal with photography. Maybe, you guys could do a show on flash triggers? What kinds are available and which ones you recomend.
Just in time for my friend to see … he is planing on buying a new Camera … thanx for the great show …
Great show, Nice enthusiasm….
Great Show!
great show
Super Dupper. Even I was excited.

Super Dupper.
Love the show.
Awesome episode and an amazing series!! Keep up the great work boys!!! AUS loves You!
You guys give a very helpful tips.
Regarding to camera, What Nikon DX format camera can shoot at high ISO but very low noise?
Saaweeet!! I can’t wait to win the Nikon D3s….what? oh, that isn’t the prize this week. Flashbenders? Well guess that sounds like a fair substitute. Alright let me give you my address…4530….oh I have to be selected first.
Just a little Kelby humor for everyone…and could you tone down the excitement after the breaks? ga..gaa..gaa..golly.
hi, this is one of the best episode ever. Keep up with the good work!
Hey guys great job!
I have a question for Matt — because I understand he shoots DX. Matt, how do you feel about the differences between the D300s and the D7000? Does the D7000 completely obsolete the D300s?
Thanks for your help y’all!
hi
again, another great show! I would love to bend the flash!!!
Another great show. Excellent wedding photography and portrait tips.
John
Thank you, guys! You roll!!!

hi
The tip on the 1.4 DOF on the protrait was great.
Hi guys,
I actually like the somewhat cheesy way you greeted us when coming back from a clip.
Another thing that you should think of is to keep the eyes on the camera and not look at the studio men around you or on cue cards behind the camera. Get a good tele promter or have a manuscript in your hands that you read from instead.
Thanks for a great show!
Daniel, from Sweden
I could sure use the flash benders. That Larry is a bold guy. Who would have thought you could do that.
He Guys, great show
Hi guys!
Nice show and good tip from matt, i use that alot… : )
Have a nice day!
/David.
I really need these
Great show once again.
Nick
Well that was exciting!!! thanks
Hi. I’d love to see more tips from someone like Cliff Mautner. I´m not a wedding photographer but I think his advice applies to portrait photography in general..
Wow, that tip was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G guys!
Do I sound enthusiastic enough?
Great show as always.
Awesome show, guys! Haven’t missed an episode!
Loved the tip on blending the two portrait shots to keep the eyes in focus.
Your wedding spot was very helpful
Like the tip from Larry

Your show is an inspiration.
Good show guys. keep it up!

Sitter i Sverige å tittar, ett mycket bra program
ha ha totally diggin’ the enthusiasm. Made me literally laugh out loud. Great tips guys. I’ve been watching DTownTV from the beginning (even though I shoot Canon). I have go some many great tips from here it’s crazy! I’ll read a photo mag or article and they have these tips and I’m like yep already heard that on DTOWNTV. Thanks for the amazing resource!
Great tips, as always. Thanks for putting the time in to teach us new things. Very much appreciated.
The tip on the 1.4 DOF was great. Larry use
gravity as your friend.
As a side note, when looking for a camera I think it is important to consider what final product I am creating. Big prints, web pages, images for packaging, billboards etc. Great show gentlemen.
Another great show.
You guys just confirmed what I was thinking… gotta upgrade my camera body!
Great show, love your enthusiasm!!
What car should I buy?
Great tips as always!
good episode
I currently shoot a Nikon D80 and I’m looking at upgrading to the new D7000
Thanks guys.
Watch the show every week and learn something every time.
Enjoy the show.
Thanks
thanks for all the imfo
You Guys Rock!
I see most everything on here is Nikon / Cannon. I used to be a Nikon D90 shooter my self until some recent unfortunate events.
Does anyone have opinions or information on the new Sony a55 coming out with the translucent mirror technology, and some recommended Sony / Minolta lens’?
I’ve seen the basic info most of the review sites show, I didn’t know if you guys might have anything on the a55 or Sony camera’s in general. I’ve been doing photography for a while now but I’ve never shot Sony, and right now it looks to be some of the best for the money.
Love, Love, Love the show you guys are great! I love that you opened it up to all DSLR even though I am a Nikon user I have friends who aren’t and we all enjoy getting the tips and learning new stuff.
Thanks to you both.
Thanks for the great show!
Another great show. Loved the photoshop tip on merging photos.
Awesome show as usual. I still think you guys need to do a segment on different subjects for beginners though to pros though. And when are you guys gonna do some stuff in Australia?! Would be awesome to have you guys out here.
Thanks for the great show guys.
Great show guys!
You guys Rocks!!! lovely free stuffs…^^!
Super cool tip: Larry showed a “rocket dust blower” in ep.54! Hey he used it totally wrong!
If you blow the dust out or your camera or lens, put your camera or lens UP SIDE DOWN! The dust will come loose and guess what: Gravity will take it down -> out of your camera.
The way Larry used it it only moves dust inside your camera!
Will you note this in episode 55? Buy the way, my wife calls the dust blower “grenade”.
Greatings,
Michael de Gunst
De Gunst Photography, the Netherlands
Thank you for the tips! Looking forward to next weeks as usual.
Very enthusiastic! Great show as always.
nice job.
As usual, great show… keep it up. As for the tomfoolery of your not be being responsive after a clip, the whole show is great and do not worry. You guys make a great team.
BTW, Scott, new to digital (6 months) and just bought your Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom 3 books today… got a lot to learn.
Take care.
Hi
Love the show, keep it up!
Great show! How about a segment on “when your DSLR breaks”? Who, what and how to send it in for repair.
Great show
Thanks guys another great show
Awesome show, you were funny and informative!
Adds to better viewing, so thanks!
Great show and funny!
Good Show.
Great show.
Super amazing stupendous awesome enthusiasm after the break!
Cliff put’s is ISO on 5000. Is their a way to raise my ISO over the 1600 on my d200.
Great tip Matt. I am definitely going to try this soon.
Awesome tips. In the future can you provide some tips on what car to purchase? :^)
You Guys Rock…54 times!
I wanna bend and shape light…pick me.
Matt, you rock. Best tip I have seen on D-Towntv.
Thanks,
Jack
Your commercials make me laugh but I’m ready for some new ones!!!
Checking up your show every week. Great tips and show. Keep it going guys.
Forgive my ignorance, as I’m still new to this whole photography thing, but you mentioned when in a studio shooting around f11 or so. Well, won’t that change the depth of field drastically? If I want a really blurry background, even in the studio, do I not keep it to a low f-number?
Love the show
Awesome show! I need one of those light benders! for my sb900
do send! lol
Great show as usual.
Great show as usual
Great show guys – how about featuring or interviewing lady photographers. There;s lots out there! Have you ever done this?
Wow! Awesome give away!! You guys rock!!!
Yeah- great job
Another Great shows guys!
Great show!
Hi Guys, How about running a weekly photo competition?
I sure would like the FlashBenders! Good show, as always.
Good job.
Great show again guys.
I love the tip on using the 85mm 1.4, but i would love even more getting the give away!!!!!!
Thanks
Marcelo
Nice show.
How about some tips on candid portraits. (Shooting when not in a studio setting.)
wm.
Great show, nice enthusiasm. I am playing/struggeling to get good portraits. I am using a speed light on a light stand, shooting through an umbrella. Is it just a matter of finding the right combination. What angle should the light be coming from? How close should the light be from my subject? I know I should probably be using another light, but I will have to wait until my budget allows. Any advice would be great.
Hey guys, Great tips as always. The portrait tip is very helpful. I would add to the cheap shots tip like others have already mentioned, to hold your camera or lens down while blowing them out. I also squeeze my rocket blower two or three times away from whatever I am cleaning first before I actually use it on the camera or lens. I do that just to make sure I am not blowing any dust back onto the equipment I am cleaning. The rocket blower is not supposed to draw any dust or debris into itself anyway but I just do the two or three squeezes before hand to be sure.
Excellent tips as always. I’d never have thought of just flat out telling people I’d be taking two photos of them. So simple and obvious in hindsight, and the difference that layer masking made to the final photo is incomparable.
The enthusiasm, meh. I’ve always enjoyed how genuine you guys are in the show. Not trying to be flashy or catchy or anything, just delivering us the goods straight up. Be natural. If you’re gonna experiment when we make suggestions, though, I’d like to see more backflips in the show.
Great show! Thanks for the examples of the difference layer style and wedding shooting.
hi
Great show, thanks guys
Just one question concerning the rocket blower tip. I use mine with the mirror locked up to remove the dust from the sensor (which has worked fine until now and I don’t feel ready for the wet method yet). But is this dangerous for the sensor ? is that why you don’t lock it up ?
Great info as always…one comment though-
On the lens selection for beginners, you failed to talk about the advantages of the narrower depth of field available when using a faster lens.
I think you may have over compensated with regard to the enthusiasm comment!
YOU GUYS ROCK!
Nice episode … keep going guys
Thanks for that focus tip Matt. I asked about that very subject in season 1 and now I have my definitive answer. (Actually, that’s how I was fixing them….just thought that there might be another way).
Cheers!
Q: if you’re taking a photo on a tripod with a digital camera using an instant release cord, do you have to cover the viewfinder like you used to have to in film cameras? I’ve never seen you do it and I wonder if it’s still necessary with dslr’s.
BTW: just because I’m asking a question doesn’t mean I don’t also want to enter the contest!
As usual, great show. Great enthusiasm for the guests’ tips. (HeHe)
Really looking forward to the KelbyTraining iPad app. Is it coming, or is it canned?
By the way, great show.
WOW! THAT SHOW WAS AWESOME!
WOOOO WHOOOO!…………… Thanks’ Guys
Great show.
Keep up the good work. I learn something each episode. Thanks.
Another great show. The more Cliff Mautner tips the better. I liked how you oversold your reaction coming back from the break, it was pretty funny.
GREAT SHOW GUYS
Great tip about how to get two people into focus when using such a swallow depth of field.
Thanks!
Love the show as usual. Loved the extra enthusiasm!
Hey Guys, another great show.
Great Tips yet Again
As always, good show.
Great show guy’s. Keep up the good work.
Jim
Just saw Scott Bourne’s post about the cumulative injuries he has suffered. Would you please talk about best ways to carry gear and miniize wear and tear on us?
Thanks for another GREAT episode, guys!

AWESOME show guys! Supper TIPS!! LOL
Another great show.
Loved Matt’s Photoshop tip. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Great show.
Nice show!

Great portrait tip Matt!
Great show guys, how about a review of the Nikon 28-300…?
Great work guys you rock.
Would be interesting to see more on portraite photography especially for the more shall we say fluffy models, seems no matter how good the photo the photos don’t exact;y flatter the model.
could we please see more on this.
Thanks guys
Cliff Maunter used a term called “chimp” what does this mean?
It means to look at the back of your camera while shooting. It’s called “chimping” because people usually go, “ooo, ooo, ahh” when they look at the back of their cameras,…they sound like “Chimps.”
You guys rock.
u guys really made my photography accend!..i really like u guys…want to ask how to choose a speedlite..i do some portrait photography and i think i might need it..
Once again ,great work
Thanks again
t
Great show!
I wish my camera had “autofocus bracketing” to make Matt’s tips even easier…
I’d love to win a set of the flash benders. Hell, I’d love to win anything.
Thanks for your contributions to the photography community.
Dtown TV has been my favorite show online since episode 1!!
…and yeah, you guys really rock!!!
The show had great balance.
Thanks! for a great show. I have learned a lot by watching these episodes.
hi guys. great show!
regards from spain!
Awesome DUDES!!! You guys looked SOOO excited!!
Scott and Matt you guys rocked it. This show was awesome and your enthusiasm after each segment was great.
Great show guys, and lots of feeling.
Ha ha, love the oversold reactions. Almost spit out my coffee… Flash benders – yeah!
Great tip enthusiasm!
Nice!
Great Show!
Love your show. Cool as ever.
I need one, Great job guys
Nice tips!
Another really good show guys. I do have one criticism of Larry’s Cheap Shot tip this week. I use the bulb blower as well, but using it the way he showed, with the camera down, allows the dust to settle back into the camera. It’s better to hold the camera up, and the bulb below. That way the dust can fall out, rather than back in. Love the Cheap Shots tips in general. Thanks again for doing this show guys.
Yeah. You’re right. And I kinda cringed when I watched the playback and I had forgotten to mention how to lock the mirror up to access the sensor, not to mention that I didn’t warn against using canned air because it’s too high pressure.
Well, I guess I’ll have to correct that when we post this segment on my blog.
Great tips once again, love the show!
You guys Lokk SO Enthusiastic!!!!!
You guys rock. Still waiting for the D7000 review.
Which bike should I buy? I wanna shoot pinball
Or am I in the wrong show?
Great show again guys!!!
LOL ! You guys so enthusiastic !
Thanks
Can you guys show screen shots of the camera when you adjust settings?
Keep up the great shows…..!
You guys Rock! Seriously!
great stuff… thanks fellas
me want prize.
comment
Hey Guys thanks for the tip Matt I’ve always was wondering how to get 2 person really sharp in the eye, very nice.
Hey guys, love your show. Could you talk a bit more about noise and how to handle it in post processing. I have a D300s and once I go past about 800 it is not acceptable to me. Any pointers will help as well as some post processing advice.
Thanks again,
Danny
As always, great show!
Good show. I liked the 85mm 1.4 lesson.
Just TOTALLY UNBELIEVABLE !!
Another great job. Love your enthusiasm….
Cheap, Cheap, Cheap, Cheap, No no no,I’m just a bird!
Dudes, that show rocked man! Da Bomb! .
Hey Matt. The comment about which brand to buy.
I first heard it from Scott Bourne on Photofocus.
He’s been chirping that line for a while.
ISO 5000….did I hear that right! That camera sounds amazing!
Good show…and funny.
Hi guys, love DTown TV. What do you guys think of Fuji..? I have a Fujifilm S3 Pro.
Paul (England)
Great show,
A review of the D7000 is very welcome!
Thanks for another informative & enthusiastic show.
Those flashbenders are just what I need, I want them!
Hey guys. I commented on the great show earlier, this time I have a show suggestion. A few weeks ago, Scott did a quick segment on shooting a football game. I have tried several since, and just can’t seem to get the D700 set up right with metering, focus mode, focus tracking and such. Scott, can you please do a segment on how to use the D700 for fast action sports…..or….you could put it in your blog. I check both regularly. Thanks, Rich Hollingsworth – A Proud Nikonian
Great tips. Great show.
Love Scotts lightroom 3 book – has transformed my workflow and saved me hours! Some lightroom tips on the show would be great.
Cheers
Will you ever visit Ireland with one of your shows
Another really good show guys.. i have a one question to ask .. how to take picture with pocketwized .. in studio with out clicking the camara..
Thanks,
Jignesh
Good tip Matt, thanks
Excellent show. Nice tip with 85mm f1.4 lens.
You are wonderful and so are flash benders.
Great show and great tips as always. As a new and always-learning photographer I have a question about Matt’s tip on the f/1.4 DOF post processing tip. Does that technique not basically do away with the DOF created by the f/1.4? I mean you are shooting a narrow DOF in two different planes and then combining them in PS. So does not the final combined image now have a larger DOF? Seems like the same would be accomplished by just stopping down the aperture just enough that you have the needed DOF for both faces – the same DOF that you created in PS. By no means is this a criticism. I don’t know enough to criticize or critique anyone, but just honestly would like to know what you think about this. Thanks.
I like the photoshop tip…Amazing
Thanks for the show.
Anything planed about teleconverters ? I would be interested to know more about pros and cons of such devices.
thanks for the continued education
Good show.
Erez.
Great show guys!!
Great show, but somebody should tell Larry to hold the camera so that the dust actually falls out of (as opposed to into) the camera. Best podcast by far — thanks guys!
Thanks for another great show. I love how much I can learn from a quick episode. For free, nonetheless.
great show guys!! keep up the great work. i learn a bunch from the shows.
My physics teacher said only a black hole can bend light. Your flashbenders will bend light? Wow, gotta see that, sign me up.
thanks again
Hey, we’re all here for the freebies, but you guys are pretty amazing!
I love your show! Great info!
Once again thanks..Rock on!!
Another Great Show….I’ve watched every one of them. Keep it up!
KOOL TIPS HOW ABOUT MORE ON STUDIO LIGHT

Nice job guys! Looking forward to the D7000 review!
You guys rock!
Love your enthusiasm
Great show again, thanks for the tips. You guys rock!
Hi guys,
This is my first comment – I started watching at around episode 44 and have since gone back and watched all the back episodes too. It’s quite hard now just to have one a week!
You’ve covered so much good stuff that it’s hard to offer suggestions. But one thing that I’d find quite helpful is working with models – especially amateur ones. Tips for posing, putting them at ease etc. That’s one of the most difficult things I find when I’m also trying to concentrate on camera settings, framing etc.
I’ve also got a question about flash and freezing motion. I do some office photography and so use bounce flash a fair bit with a fairly low shutter speed, and expect the flash to freeze any motion. But my pictures are never really tack sharp, and I’ve read that you need to dial down the ambient on your subject so there isn’t blur from the ambient. But I don’t really understand it so if you could shed some light on that as a tip, that would be great!
Keep up the good work with the show.
Dave
Great episode. I loved the idea of shooting two shots with an 85mm 1.4L and merging them in PS.
Cool show guys.
Could you show a little more enthusiasm next time please maybe jump up and down playing the imaginary guitar
I agree with buy a camera that your friends have as I’m a Nikon user and my friends are Canon users so they share their gear and I’m left out and have to fend for myself.
Look forward to the next show.
Hi Guys, Great show! Matt, really loved the Tip on depth of field. Very Cool!
Thanks,
Dennis
Love the show guys }:0)
Love the show guys }:0)
Love all the tips
wow. amazing show!
You guys rock!
I just saw on a forum that on the Nikon d3s you can hold the fn button and rotate the command dial to quickly change the aspect ratio you are shooting in. I haven’t had a chance to see if this works on my d700 but thought this would be a neat tip to pass along!
Cools tips guys, thanks.
wow…What great transitions…
Good job Guys
So, if I come by and take Matt to lunch, he’ll clean my camera?
Great show guys!! love every episode
Awesome guys!
Thanks for the tips. You Rock!
A recent show you mentioned Moose Peterson’s new book “Captured”. I got the book and love the read. It’s like I am right with Moose as he talks about his experiences. I think I received a nonproofed issue of the book. The very first page (Captured page V) First paragraph it says: “he has been recognized for his assion by being named a Nikon Legend . . . ( I think he ment . . passion) Thanks
Sorry, but this was not one of your best shows.
Hi guys – thanks, as always, for another informative show. I’m at the point in my photographic sojourn where I’m really working on learning to control/augment the light with flash. I’ve got a couple of speedlights, and could really use those Rogue light benders. Thanks for your consideration.
you r the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well…taking off from the “which to buy” questions…I have one myself…I shoot a lot of indoor sports photos, basketball, volleyball, etc…and I am wanting to upgrade to a 2.8 lens…however the budget isn’t as big as some peoples….so I’ve been looking at the Canon 70-200 2.8 IS USM (used for $1300-$1500) OR the Tamron version for $750′ish….I’ve seen images from the Tamron, and have another Tamron lens myself…any idea or draw backs any of you know about??? Anyone can feel free to answer too…. email: brycemansfield@gmail.com
Thanks for the help!
loved the show once again. Learning a lot. Thanks Scott and Matt
You guys rock! XD
Love the show.
cliff you really rock!
from SCOTTKOWLSKY FAN CLUB
great show
You Guys Rock!
Great show thanks.
Great tips, thanks
Love you guys!! Great show!
Love all the great tips! I just found this site and am enjoying learning! Thanks!
great show as always
Good stuff as always, I continue to enjoy the show,.
As always, very interesting. I’ll need to look up the tutorial on cleaning the sensor…will try Larry’s tip first.
you guys are funny….cool!
Love the show!
I would delete Larry’s sensor cleaning segment. You are a training company. Laurie Excell’s tutorial is the gold standard and Matt’s free segment is fine. But Larry, who is an all around wonderful guy, fumbled it on presenting cleaning techniques. It would have been possible to make the same point of doing simple before doing complicated (Laurie is clear about this also) without showing bad practices.
Another good show…
I’m afraid I don’t keep up weekly. So when I make it back to catch up, it’s like DTownapalooza watching multiple episodes back to back!
Thanks
Great show! Thanks for the tips.
Great Show guys and good photoshop tip.
Thanks for the tips. You guys rock. Although the new enthusiasm is fake and off putting.
Good show.
You guys are hilarious, make me laugh my a** off every time… Hope Scott is visiting Prague as well when he’s in London this week!!
Another great show. The only thing I’d change is to have Larry recommend turning the camera face down so any dust falls out. Actually got that tip from your buddy Moose.
nice show!
Loved your Photoshop tip.
Great show! Matt’s Tip is fantastic…
HERE I AM!!! HERE I AM!!!! OK, got THAT out of my system, As ALWAYS gentlemen, another wonderful episode. Keep them comin’
Loved the tip about fake mats !!
I need to bend the light
Thank you for a great show!
Love your show from day one and have learned a lot from your tips. Thanks a lot! Looking forward to learn more so please keep it up
You guys are awesome. The tip on the 85mm f1.4 was so simple and so powerful. I love the show. I think I know a fair amount about cameras and I always learn something watching you. I wish there was a catalog of all the tips you have given over the 55 episodes. Maybe there is and I don’t know about it.
Just want to say thanks for the inspiration and tips. Wondering if you’ve thought of showcasing photographers that aren’t famous? It could be a good way of giving photographers you think are doing things right a bit of extra exposure that could really help them. Just a thought. Again, thanks and keep it coming!
Great show guys, I like the tip about using the 85mm f/1.4. More power.
hi guys, i love this show.. i’ve learnt a lot from you guys… keep it up.
Hi!
I’m watching you from Romania! You are great!
I would like more tips on how to take pictures inside.
Great show!
just found your shows… I like
Your enthusiasm blew me away.
Great show and great tips!
Great show guys.. as usual.
I was wondering if you could in a future show, talk about or even demonstrate using the “af-on” custom button setting, and also if you use it or know any pros that do.
Thanks
Great show guys. Good info as always
Fun show to watch! Thanks for having a great sense of humor about coming back from a break. i was laughing at Scott’s expressions and antics! Thanks for taping these shows and providing them to us for free. I am grateful.
You guys are great to watch.
I’m a beginner here, does anyone know what possible settings Jack used when he took that low light portrait? I’m guessing a high ISO, a wide aperture and maybe 1/60th shutter speed(?)
I’m a beginner here, does anyone know what settings Jack used to take the portrait shot? I’m guessing a high ISO, wide open aperture and 1/60th or slower shutter speed. (?)
Thanks
Great Show! I would love to see some tips on shooting and making senior posters!
Good stuff guys!
That is cool, a lot of good rocking tips
cool , yo guys rocks
nice tips
what about Cliff? is his site cliffmautner.com? It doesn’t work…
nice tips guys…thanks.
nice day guys love it!
Excellent tip on the Photoshop fix for the 85mm f1.4 shots. Keep it up guys!!
Interesting thoughts here. I appreciate you taking the time to share them with us all. It’s people like you that make my day
Hey Scott and Matt,
Another great one
Btw, I noticed Cliff Mautner website url posted on the show maybe wrong. so I did some googling and found the below:
http://www.cmphotography.com/
Have a good one
Regards, Lawrence
Great focus tip!
Hi Scott & Matt:
I’ve only been shooting digital for less than two
years. I shoot with a Canon 50-D w/ 18-200 mm
lense. I shoot mostly travel and nature photo-
grapy.
I watch your show every week and cannot tell
you guys how much I have learned and enjoy
your show, you guys are great and have really
interresting guests. I really enjoy what Moose
peterson and “cheap shots” and has helped
me.
I’ve recommended your show to all my friends
and they enjoy it as well.
.
Thank You!
Joe Abken / jabken@dslextreme.com
The exciting expressions after each segment really do work! Keep up the great work.
The guy blowing the dust on the camera sensor, I think somebody should give him a lesson on doing the job because all he done was blow any dust in the chamber all over the place, please tell him to turn his camera so the sensor is facing the floor and then put the tip of the blower just on the opening and blow up into the chamber that way any dust will drop out while blowing.
and another thing the blowers are available in different strengths and the rocket blower with the fins are there for you to stand them upright in order to keeping them clean.
can you discuss memory cards formatting, recovery and permanently deleting photos so they can not be recovered, great show im a amateur photographer and get a lot of satisfaction shooting as much as i can .
Hey, you guys have amazing tips.
thanks a lot…
I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own weblog and was wondering what all is needed to get set up? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I’m not very internet smart so I’m not 100% positive. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Appreciate it
I am learning so much with your tips that I am planing to upgrade my camera to D300s.I have had D80 for 3 years and did not know so much stuff that you have teach me.
Keep up the great work and who cares how you respond after each segment, what matters is the knowledge you ar bringing to your viewers.
Thanks
