Hi
Great show!!!
Thanks!
первый нах!!!
ooh gimme. Hear you’re coming to UK scott. Nice.
Great Show.
Can you do a section on focus points, recommendation and recomposing the shoot after focusing.
I wasn’t able to see this week’s episode because my eyes are wrecked from shooting into the sun (if only Matt would’ve warned me), but I did listen to it and would love to win some free stuff
. Again, you guys are awesome. Never a week that I don’t learn something new. Keep up the great work!
Good show!
Super duper show! Keep them coming!
You guys rock!
MATT you are way cooler than Scott!
Nope!!! Scott is definitely cooler!!!
Yo
Rich
last comment didn’t go through…too bad, it was life changing.
Matt…I think Scott is holding you back…you are way cooler than him!
Thanks guys!
Another great show, Thanks
Hey Matt, I noticed that Scott, Joe and yourself all wear glasses. Do you have any special tips for those of us who were glasses to help with our photography. I have noticed trouble with diopter settings as well as annoying things like my glasses getting in the way.
That was already addressed about 4 episodes or so back.
I really look forward to this every week. Thank you!
Great show guys! looking forward to more keep up the good work!
You guys Rock!
Recently found your podcast and must say it’s been really good catching up on the previous 44 shows. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Scott and Matt for the fantastic episodes!
Here are some topics, that might be interesting:
what is diffraction, in your books i read for long exposures diafragm f22 is this not to much ?, is f11 the max for sharp pictures.
and how a clean lenses,?
greetzz
Hans, the netherlands
By the way have you had the drawings for last week; and week before prizes?
Thanks,
Robert
How many add-ins, plug-ins can you have before PS5 starts to really slow down?
Hey guys:
As usual, loved the show. Question, though. You keep announcing contests, but we never hear on the show who won. When do you announce the winners???
Rich
Awesome Show Guys! Do ya’ll have a tip about eye glasses glare? Shooting my son but just can’t get rid of the glare in his glasses.Maybe something in camrea or in Photoshop.Again,You Guys Rock!!!
Matt, Finally got the BH+55 head after about 9 months of looking and procrastinating. Talked to several photographers. Went with the lever plate locking. Felt worth extra especially in Canadian winter. Much easier to lock/unlock. Felt you should have briefly pointed out this feature on your head.
Have had L brackets on cameras for long time, really great.
Great series. Glad to have it back.
Best regards,
This is the best show not on TV. Really! Thank you.
Excellent show again, keep it up
cheers,
Mike
Another great show.
Which due you prefer (&why) – Lightroom 3 or Aperture 3?
Great show. Thanks for the info on the BH55. I’ve been struggling with whether or not to spend that much on a ball head.
When are you coming to Pensacola, Fl?
Another great show. Thanks!
great show!
Great show guys lots of good information.
I like your show.
Greatings from Germany!
so long.
RALF
Additional use for the ziplock bag when bringing gear from air conditioning to the humid outdoors. Enclose the gear in the bag and the moisture will cling to the bag and not fog your lens.
Keep up the good work-great tips
Great show!
No one of you Kelbymedia folks using a Sony dSLR? I recently bought a Sony A850 fullframe dSLR after been through several Pentax and Olympus dSLRs. Would have been fun seeing something besides CaNikon;-)
Qs: Long exposure photography, do you have tips with ND-filter use? I have a 9 and a 3 step ND-filter.
Is it necessary to have the long exposure noise reduction set to ON when you photograp with 10-120sek. shuttertime in daytime/sun with ND-filter on?
Thanks.
Best regards,
Kenneth from Norway.
Great show. Would love to see a short segment possibly on light painting, could be fun
Thanks for all the info!
Thanks !
I love the cheap tips! Go Larrry!!!!!, Well, Joe was pretty cool too. OK, So were Matt and Scott. Love your show…..
Great show again. Still waiting on tips for insurance for gear.
Another great show. Will the skyports work with a Nikon speedlight too??
Love the show. Great info from Matt on the ballhead…another must have! Great Cheap Shots segment. I also get the shower caps from the hotel and use those to cover my camera if I’m out shooting in a shower.
I’ve been using Zip-lock bags for weather proofing for awhile now. I will also carry a couple of plastic grocery or trash bags as well. These can be used as rain covers for my camera by cutting a slit to slip the lens through. The trash bags can also be used as ground mats like those ponchos, although I think I like the poncho idea as well. Plus, the larger bags can be used to carry your trash out if you are out hiking, picnicking, or what have you.
Always a Great show
My suggestion was used for cheap shots
Not quite what I was thinking but it was still good.
You guys ROCK!
I’d like to see you guys do a segment on wireless flash triggers (especially for use with Canon 5D). What’s out there? What are Pros/Cons. You mention the Skyport variety on this episode, and thought I would ask about others.
Thanks for another great show.
When is your next workshop in Washington, DC?
I know you guys have many shows about calibration for monitors but what type of monitors would you recommend for photo editing? Brand, Type, TN or IPS etc…
Once again, great show.
Like your show and I watch every episode!
Regards from Sweden!
What memory cards do you recommend? I have to go get some baggies…sorry about the sandwiches kids.
Thanks for the show. Can you give buying advice to amateur photographers for tripods and ball heads?
Hey Guys
Great Show! Can’t wait to see you at Photoshop World in Vegas.
Thanks for the show. Can you give buying advice for amateur photographers for tripods and ball heads?
In foul weather I use the plastic ziploc bags a lot. Different sizes. I find the “raincoats” that come with bags don’t offer much protection other than with a light drizzle. With a good rain, you’ll be using the hair dryer or just letting your bag dry out for a couple of days.
Hi, Great show!
Can you guys give us some tips on focussing when doing macro photography? I’m having a hard time focussing on flying bees on flowers (outside, not in a studio). Also, what are the differences between a real macro lens and a normal lens with a extension tube between the lens and the body? Is there a difference in quality?
great show!!! Loved the tip on the L-Bracket
Please put me in the running for the Lightroom book, I want to learn more!
Good stuff, as always guys. Thanks.
Great episode as always gentlemen! Becker’s cheapshots is becoming one of my favorite segments
Another great show. How about continuing your tripod & ballhead talk. I think a lot of people would be interested and have their own opinions!
Good luck.
I have seen them all and I still enjoy them.
Thanks
Love the cheap shot segment!
Good show!
Enjoyed the cheap shots again this week. I keep a few plastic shower caps in my bag so I can stretch them over gear and pull them off quickly.
I went to watch the wiggles last saturday:P
great show! I have carried zip lock bags for years and another handy thing to have is a couple baby washcloths (they are small and don’t take up much room). Depending on the shoot I’ll get one damp and put in a zip lock bag for clean ups or just a cool refresh of my face.. in the dusty desert that’s a really nice thing to be able to do.
Thanks for the L bracket and ballhead tip. I’ll look into that for my next tripod.
Handheld macro tips please?
Great show!
Hi! Always love learning something new. I now know that looking directly into the sun through my viewfinder while standing in front of a train is a reallllly bad idea.
great show cant wait till next week
Joe Mac is great when he is on the show. Can you get him for longer segments?
cooksfriend
Like the show great info
I love the RRS Ballhead and L Brackets. They were the first 2 things I bought for my first camera after reading “The Digital Photography Book” back in 2006. They are bullet proof! I paid more for them and my tripod than my first camera, but the ballhead has out-lasted 2 cameras so far!
Great show as usual.
I have been using lightroom 3 now for a couple of weeks, beside music in slideshow and watermark on prints. I really can’t see that much of an improvement. I really hate that new import setup. It used to be much easier to separate by days when I downloaded. But I really love DTown.
Cool show guys! At least you’re not taking a whimsy break … are you?!
Best from Rotterdam! Getting ready for the start of the tour de france – major photography opportunity!
I wish I could afford a better tripod! Matt, was that a D700 that had the L bracket?
greaT show make them longer
Another great show.
Another great show!
Great show.
As ever a great show! Thank you.
Great show.
Another geat show! If I could win the book AND some software I would invest in Lightroom 3. Speaking of which how about some more NX2 stuff? Waiting for next week.
Great show as usual. Thanks guys!
Good show (as always). I found useful your technical tips, but I think that a creative segment would be awesome. I know this show is a technical one and that you can’t cheap vision, but some rules/tips/inspiration for us rookies (actually me) would be apreciated
Thanks for the tips. Cheap Shots is fantastic!
Great Show, I look forward to watching as I try to develop my shooting skills
Great show always look forward to learning something.
Thanks guys!
Great Episode
I guess your actual schedule is still shifting around. Should that be the norm this season? In past seasons, I always started checking your site on Thursday afternoons or Friday mornings. But it wasn’t there this morning (Friday). I still think (made this suggestion before) that a brief post about when the episode will be “airing” would be helpful. Otherwise, great show.
Hi guys,
I’ve seen all of your episodes so far. Great show! I was wondering if you have some tips on screen and printer calibration? Thanks!
Just got a Canon 7D and can’t open my DNG files from the Finder window with my spacebar. Any suggestions? Know it’s not a camera specific question but it’s driving me crazy.
Hey guys, if you could talk about sports photography, specially about the everyday life of professional sports photographers, it would be a very interesting show!
Yo. Nice show.
Great information, first time to watch, but won’t be the last.
Great idea on the L-bracket for ball head tripod.
Thanks guys. Great tips again. Keep it up.
Valentina from East St. Paul, Manitoba, Canada
Great show!
Great tip on L-bracket.
Valentina from East St. Paul, Manitoba, Canada.
Great Show!! Also, good tip on the L-Bracket. By using the L-Bracket on the ball head you do not need to reposition the tripod.
As always super helpful! Thanks guys!
You guys do a great job. Thanks! Really
More blond babe please!!!
Enjoyed…question for ya. Any tips on L-brackets while shooting tethered? If I go to a vertical shot, cords get in the way.
Great show once again, hey who is winning all the give aways?
Thank you
Yep, an L bracket would be very nice. Flipping to vertical isn’t bad with a ball head, but the weight distribution can be a real pain in the…eer, wrist.
Great tip!
Hey guys, can you give your thoughts about using Continuous-servo AF (AF-C) as default setting? I just start doing this with the idea that this will increase the likelihood of a sharp photo. I understand that it will take extra battery power; however, my battery is never empty at the end of the day. So, that is not an issue. Are there other drawbacks of always using AF-C over AF-A or AF-S?
Hey Guys thanks for another great episode of DTV. In regards to the Really Right Stuff ball head, until I purchased one of my own … I asked the same question, ‘Why did I wait so long?’. It’s worth every penny. A topic for future shows would be a review of the various types of diffusers for on camera flash heads, i.e. SB900’s. There are many products out there and it’s really hard to decide on the most portable and effective solution. Thanks!
I would like to see some of the Pros custom settings in the different banks in Nikon cameras.
Another great episode fellas! Look forward to next week’s
Great stuff fellas… thanks so much!! (if this is a double post sorry… my mac is being odd)
Good show guys!
brad, you’re famous!! nice blog!!!
Hi guys
great show this week
Great show guys, thanks for your help!
really want to know about metering modes and when and why to use different ones.
Another fantastic show guys!
Maybe somebody here can help me with a question. How do you upload an Avatar on this site?
Another great show, thanks!
great giveaways!
Keep up the good work, I have all your Episodes on my ipod just in-case i need any information…You never know.
Thanks for the tips!
Matt I notice the name of your camera was black out with tape. Any reason?
Great show!
I noticed you camera name was black out…why?
LOVE YOU GUYS
!!!
The Houski has officially been rocked!
Great show. Always so much to see and learn. THX.
great stuff as always.
Good tips guys. I can’t agree enough on the RRS plug. Bought mine a year ago and have been more than pleased. Used some of your star burst tips from a few episodes ago out in Arches National Park last week, worked out great. Thanks!
Great Show!
Hi
another great show
Great show. Good job.
Great show !
Excellent show as usual!!!
Keep up the good work – love the tips!!
I liked the idea of cheap rain gear. Of course I live in Phoenix so I don’t get a lot of rain so it should last me a long time.
Like the show.
me, me, me, !!!! give it to me…..
Great show, thanks.
Another great show guys. IDEA! There are so many episodes now that I need an index to all of them to find subjects from past shows. HELP!!!
Another great show. Can you do a bit on doing macro photography?
Hi guys,
Will you ever do a show on light modifiers and how to use speedlites. I know you covered how to set it wireless, but I will like to learn how to use mine better.
Getting tired of these videos constantly needing buffering every 3-5 seconds. I even upgraded to 12mps cable broadband to no avail. I won’t be renewing my subscription to Kelby Training. Frustratibg!
Bob
great tips
great show
I want to win something!
Hey guys great show. Lookin forward to the walk!
Good show.
I really appreciate what you guys do here… I have been a fan since the first episode and have learned a lot since.
can you guys talk about lighting more? you guys cover speedlights on a three episodes of the first season but how about lighting for starters like me…
thanks and I hope to be near as you as either one of you someday
Hey guys – almost as good as SEX !!! Love the show, and great tips. Look forward to each and every episode…
You ROCK !
Hey guys,
Another great session packed with interesting tips. I look forward to each and every episode so keep it up. You guys ROCK !!!
Great tips guys.
Allways excellent, please bring some food to joe..
Again, a great show! I just started using the free Light Room Beta 3 version when it first came out. I converted an entire shoot into B & W using the presets. I was amazed at the results.
Have you guys talked about using a polarizer to shoot a reflection in a window. Does not work unless the polarizer is removed. There is a beautiful cathedral that is reflected off a store window about a block away. At sunset, the reflection is okay until I tell people it is a reflection!
Love to win the Light Room 3 book as I have to buy the full version now since the beta 3 has gone to full production.
I have introduced about 20 photographers to your show and they freak at what you have to offer FREE.
Thanks,
Tim
Another solid show, but will admit…….seeing a show how to photography an oncoming train would make for good TV!
No Nellie, sob sob.
Good Show
Right On!
Great show again and I was looking forward to it coming back from a business trip.
Another great show guys!
How about some info on Nikon lens profiles for LR3.
Great show gentlemen! How about some tips on shooting RAW vs. JPEG sometime? Keep up the good work!
Hey guys, great show. i was wondering when you tether shoot what USB cable are you using? i am trying to get a long cable but can’t find one as i want to be flexible when shooting
Awesome show as usual, guys!
Would it be possible to be able to download the episode – as for psusertv?
If you suscribe using RSS you should have a link to download the video in the excerpt.
– Woods
nice show guys!
Nice, but it is TIME to GIME something! ha ha ha
I don’t get lucky that often!
Thanks guys!
Tony
Now I have to go buy a poncho.
Great show. First I am very new to DSLR’s. I’m not real good with Technology. I installed a external hard drive so i could move some of my photo files off of my computer. when i did it activated my LR2 program. this creates a problem inthat it does not allow me to download into my storage unit. i first have to wait for it to down load into LR2 then i can move them into the storage files tell i can process them. question how can i move that whole days shoot at one time. Like i said I’m not that good at techno stuff but i’m getting better. I’ve almost figured out how to resize my photo’s for easier download to the Web.
thanks Greg
Love the show, look forward to it every week.
Tell Joe, If I could afford two D3s, I would just hire an assistant to keep my cameras menus in sync.
HA HA.
Gary
Great show. Thanks for your committment.
Great show.
Who makes a generic L-bracket? Really Right stuff are camera specific, but they don’t make one for a Pentax KX.
How about some tips for getting started as a pro photographer????
I’d love to win one of the prizes!
Love the show
I would like to see the setup for some family portraits.
Hey Joe, could I have one of your old D3’s
. jk
Good stuff you guys. Any tips on working in the industry, copyright to knows, marketing suggestions?
You Guys Are GREAT!!! Thanks For Helping Me Understand Photography A Little Better Each Week.
)
hi,
another enjoyable D-Town!
Gary
Hi Guys
Great show as normal !!
I find the best thing with L Plates that it removes Removes Gross Lens Position Shift, ie you don’t have to re compose for a landscape or portrait shot as the lens is in the same position.
How about a show on tripods and tripod heads and why gitzo and really right stuff are the best in the world, although costly, but you only buy a tripod once.
Mark
Mark
Another great show.
How about some tips on focus options for sports.
Thanks,
John.
Another great show!
Where is me prize
Hey. Can you guys just briefly explain LAB color to us (If it’s possible to explain LAB in brief)?
Thanks
Great show
Vel done nice program.
Hello from Israel
I don’t care about any prize this is like heaven to me!!
BOY, if I were in the us… I wouldn’t have missed any phography/grhaphics event EVER…
Thanks and keep it going.
Hi. Another great show. BTW, how will I know when I win the giveaway?
hi guys
that’s great work
thaanks
Great show, guys!
Greetings from Greece. Great show. Thanks!
I love the show guys! I’ve been watching since the first episode, which was rather hard when I was deployed to Afghanistan, but it was worth it!
Quick question for you though. I notice in photoshop, regardless if I shoot with a D300 or D3 or jpg or raw, some of the photo information, such as shutter speed, isn’t listed in the file information. Is there a setting in the camera you have to adjust for it to record all of the information?
Thanks again for a great resource! It has helped me out tremendously in my work!
~ Nathan Gallahan
Thanks for another great show
Love your show(s) and watch every week.
Once again, you’ve made a great show!
Great episode as usual, guys. One request — you always introduce new gear that I’ve been thinking about getting but sometimes you blow by quickly when mentioning the model #. Would it be possible to list the model #’s in the episode recap or somewhere else? As an example, the model # of the RRS ballhead or model # of the gitzo tripod you demoed. Thanks!
Sign me up, please.
Great show, I’d love to see a show on how to pose people for family outdoor type protraits, keep up the good work!
Thank you
As usual, another great show. I would love to see a show demonstrating actual off camera lighting with a small flash.
Steve
Great show!
I know you are the “photoshop guy’s” but do you have any tips for those of us that use Nikons Capture NX 2?
Sincerely
Steen from Denmark
All around great show – ZipLocks Rock!!
Would love to win the LR3 book.
CU@PSW
Love your show, can you get cheap tips on how to use an external camera flash.
Joe forgot to mention you can save your camera settings on an old cf card as a backup.
Also, the Really Right stuff brackets are different for when using a battery grip vs no grip. And you have to buy a clamp in addition to the ballhead and bracket. The cost adds up.
Great show guys =)
Another great show, guys! Thanks!
cool tips!
Thanks for a great show.
I check it out on my iPod during my lunch breaks at work every week.
Do you cover how to use bounce flashes?
Thanks for an interesting show.
Love your show. I learn something every week.
I was just looking at the RRS web site this week. Looks like they make some great stuff and high quality. Great show!
Hi guys! I’ve seen all your shows but I miss something. You have talked about flashes a lot and the wireless settings and so on, but I miss some tips about the “other” settings, such as RPT and so on…
Hello Matt and Scott,
I just wanted to say thanks for another informative show. If you don’t mind, I have a suggestion: Has anyone at Kelby Media considered a show on basic photography? Photography 101 if you will. Starting with f-stop, exposure, etc, and working up from there. It’s just a thought I wanted to share. Please keep up the great work. You are very much appreciated. Thanks, Mike
Always great tips. Could you show us on how to use custom white balance with on camera flash, studio strobe for Nikon D-SLR?
I use Nikon D 700…. Thanks.
Hi,
Thanks for the show. What do you bring when travelling? It’s much to carry the DSLR and flash ánd tripod and lenses for a whole day out.
I noticed that the Cannon camera is always the smaller of the two cameras displayed. Nice subliminal messaging!
Keep up the great work.
Great Show!
Love the show. Is there a list of what cheapshot tips are in what episode. I often remember there was a tip I now need, but can’t easily find the episode to check it out.
re: ball heads – any other brands recommended?
I am a beginner photographer and you guys have been the greatest source of learning.
Thank you,
Carlos
Another great show Guys!!!
I tried a tip from one of Scott’s book and used a flash to fill in a model with a sunset as backdrop. The exposure came out perfect, but the color was off by a mile since I didn’t have a color filter for the flash.
How can I match the white balance afterwards? I tried to use a brush in Lightroom but it is difficult to pick the right color.
Matt & Scott,
Joe’s tip to copy camera settings to a flash card will also work on the D3. Larry’s tip on using ziploc bags is something I have used for years and they can save you money big time.
Thanks!
Tony
Great show!
Could you do a segment on using sb-900 as studio lighting
Good stuff as always. Will the nik noise software work on my wife.
Award me the Niks Define 2.0 software and I promise to wear a black shirt for at least a month!
good show
Thanks for anoder great show !
Great Show. Can you show how to do some multiple exposures. Saw it once but am concerned about number of exposures and how to reduce ghosting of subjects.
thanks!
great tips for us beginners. Please explain the rule(?) of thirds.
Please discuss memory cards… What to look for when purchasing? Is it better to format iin camera or on computer? Better to delete or format? Better to download from camera or card reader? does removing/inserting memory cards play havoc on pins in camera? what signs signal potential failure with current card? other considerations?
Always enjoy your shows and the enthusiasm you both project. Lots of fun, thanks
Hi!
How about a segment where you talk about, getting the most out of minimal gear? Say, you’re on a trip and obviously you don’t wanna carry a giant gear bag…
Another nice show. Keep em comming.
Love the show!
How about a few tips on using Flash Gels, I’ve brought a set and have no idea what to do with them! (impulsive purchase).
Kent
(West Yorkshire, England)
do all the ball heads use the same plate size ? I’d hate to buy one brand then change vendors and not have them fit ?
Hey Matt, I think you need to start wearing under armor shirts, I always see you wearing nike on DTOWN!!!!
Great show guys! Cant wait until next week. I always learn alot….
I’m new to photography, great tips, thanks
As always, another superb show !! It would have been neat to see a few tips on shooting fireworks since this show was right at the Fourth of July weekend. Anyway, keep the shows coming and all the great tips
I look forward to receiving my book and software
I second the request for a few tips about focusing and recomposing the shot, including exposure considerations. Great show, as always!
Laughing about Matt’s first tip: don’t stand on the train tracks and take a picture of a train coming at you. Then Scott’s tongue-in-cheek suggestion that if you must, use a long lens.
Last week I took a picture of a crop duster comin’ right at me! Well, I was using a fairly long focal length, and there were power lines above me that you can’t see. I was fairly confident he’d pull up:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/gregoryjordan/4735058616/
Some great tips as always, but a comment on Joe’s tip on save settings it sounded like it applied to the D3s only .Not the case that feature has been there on many models. It was on my D2x and is on my D3x and I’m pretty sure it is on my friends D300 and D700.
Hey Scott and Matt,
My background is graphic design and I’ve been doing training & troubleshooting for about 18 years. Mostly for other artists, ad agencies and now a few photographers. Scott’s books on digital photo photography got me into photography, instead of art directing it.
They’re great! Layers magazine too!
I’ve been training an architectural photographer and everything is fine. He told me he wanted to go on a shoot and shoot one main shot then go around with a strobe and shoot specific areas to make the image really pop. This saves him a lot of lugging equipment and time. I worked in out with layers and layer masks & painting things out (like him) on the layers. Seems to work well but I’m always open to a better way. Any ideas?
As always great show and tips. But, a comment on Joe’s tip on saving setting, It sounded like that was exclusive or new on on the D3s. That is not the case that feature was on my D2x and is on my D3x and bet it was on his D3. I think it is on my friends D300 and 700 as well. It is a great feature.
Great Show. Waiting pantiently for the next one!
Didn’t enter my web sites in right above. Sorry
www. ArtRiceArt.com
http://www.I-DesignMan.com
Great show as always, keep up the good work!!
Always interesting to see your tips.
Too mnay adds now though. Getting like regular TV.
The pulse pounding one is hilarious though…
Great show. Just learned about these so am looking forward to watching the past shows.
Maybe you do a show about how to clean your camera.
Awesome Thanks
Another good show – please keep them coming.

(The web site is having some comment posting issues, so apologies if this shows up more than once)
Another great show! Thanks
You guys rock!!!!!
Great tips as always.
Happy you covered the use of Polarising filters as requested by a number of viewers (including me!).
How about some tips on macro photography? Or is that covered in an earlier video that I missed?
Keep up the good work!
…..Tony
Thanks for sharing more great tips.
thanx again for the show guys. I have a question about exposure compensation. Usually when I’ve heard people about this, theyr’e talking about changing the aperture or shutterspeed. And I find myself thinking, wouldn’t it be easier to use the exposure compensation? So I was wondering, are there situations when you’d use the one above the other?
Good tips on the poncho. How about using it over the camera on the tripod. It has holes to reach in a hole for the lens and is transparent so you can look at the back
Thanks guys, a great episode!
I’d appreciate it if you’d make an old technical training video director (AT&T,MCI, Verizon) very happy by including more close-up shots of the various items and camera menus that are being discussed.
My basic goal for producing an effective training/informational video has always been for the viewer to come away from the program saying, “I SEE what you mean.”
Since you’re editing the program anyway, why not take a few extra minutes to set and shoot close-ups?
Otherwise, another excellent program.
thanks for being so generous with your amazing tips! It’s a better world because of you two guys. cheers from NZ!
Another great show!
keep it up guys
Great show guys! Really like “Cheap Shots”!
Do You know how hard is to get your book here in Serbia?! Impossible …… I need it : )
Hey how about a segment about locating the nodal point for different lenses for panoramic photography? Great work guys! Send that prize on over! Thanks
Glad to have you guys back!
hi there , i like your show , and always when u advertising photoshop world , im interested if u guys planing once a year to do that congres somewhere in old Europe , in London next summer for example . thanks
Can’t thank you both enough, with great photography tips and awesome information that you both share.
Thank you
Enjoyed the show. Good job!
Aloha
Will you guys be attending the Photo Plus Expo in NYC in October???
How about some tips on getting started as a pro photographer.
G’day, another great show. I have been a fan since episode one. Really appreciate the effort Scott, Matt and the team put in to delivering a quality show.
I’d appreciate some tips for traveling light on hiking photography trips. Eg light weight back packs, tripods, a cheap method of attaching your camera strap to a back pack that does not have camera strap connectors (one for Larry)
Great show, keep up the good work.
Enjoyed.
more joe macnally! great show
Another killer show! Matt the “Really Right Stuff” ballheads, and their other cool gear really are the “Right Stuff”…. if anybody’s thinking about it don’t hesitate, you won’t be disappointed. Cool National Geographic photos of Joe and his work are up… check em out at http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/2010/07/power-grid/mcnally-photography.
Look forward to your show every week. Any chances you guy are planning on coming to Canada in the future for a workshop?
One suggestion for a show that I would like to see is “Photo Walk” tips. Maybe the must bring items & what not to bring. Maybe composition tips or anything your experiences has taught you both.
Thanks.
When I’m on a photo walk I bring the lest amount of gear. So all I’ll take is my D300s body and two lenses, the 18-70MM and the 55-200MM. Most times I’ll stick with the 18-70 but at least I have the 200 if I need it. I would stay from taking a tripod but if need be just get a gorillapod. They are light and small.
PLEEEEEZEEEE! Give a tip on how to use the 51 point auto focus on the Nikon D700.
Thanks
If I needed to take a picture of an oncoming train I would use a log lens of course and I would try and position myself on the outside of a curve looking down the line. So there smarty pants!
/Users/joebutorac/Desktop/D.jpg Another fine show guys. Keep them coming. Maybe some tips on inkjet printing would be fun. Thanks
Another fine show….
That L Bracket and Ballhead are so cool! Another few items for the ever-growing wish list!
Nice tip for train photography
Another great show! Guess, I’ll have to get the RRS l-bracket. Cha-ching, again!
You rock guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Greta show as always
Hi Guys
Could you show some tips on behind the scenes at different types of shoots? Eg Studio, Location Landscape, Sports etc
Cheers
Once again great show. Any plans on talking about iPhone Apps for Photographers?
Love your show, there is always something new I can learn from it !
Drew Sumrell asked about an index. I’ve been watching this series from the beginning. I started a spreadsheet with episode numbers and topics. If I am looking for something I just pull up that spreadsheet and do a search.
Matt rocks
I saw the silver efex in the back and I became Pavlov’s dog…
Always looking forward to your shows, grtz
I saw the silver efex in the back and I became Pavlovs’dog… again…

Great show! Thank you!!
Great tips! I anxiously anticipate every new episode.
Great show again. One idea: I’d love to see a regular segment on “How This Shot Is Done” like you’ve done in your books. The possibilities are limitless.
THX
Hi Mat,
Thanks for an other great show, here is the best part of what you guys have done for me I now have more Photo Blogs to follow that I have time along with all those how to video that you have on KelbyTraining. Along with now wanting to go out and take more photos. Any ways thanks for doing what you do and remind your advertisers that I at least have been buying their products.

Any advice on shooting Architecture would be great.
Thanks again guys, you are the best!
Great show as usual.
Another great show guys !
Any chance of more creative shots like matt’s lens flare segment ?
m
like the poncho idea. Um I know I have mentioned this before, sorry to bug you guys again, but how about some tips on extra long exposures, say over 30 seconds, with calculating exposure times using bulb mode, and extra dark ND filters, or star trail photography? Thanks, that would be cool, but hey so are you guys. Keep rockin’
NIce show. Thank you.
hi dtowntv team,
you brought to me the enthusiasm for photography. i like your show because you find a variety of tips so that i have to stop every minute to save your tips in my mind for later practices.
- photography websites
- cheap shots and tricks
- special nikon setups
- nice accessories
- how to play with light …..
so i ended from the first show now to a D300s with a couple of shown lenses and accessories.
best regards from germany and keep going
bodo
You guys are the best! I love the cheap shots tips!
Thanks guys! Awesome show. Since it’s summer season would it be possible to show some wedding tips? Thanks
Thanks from Harbo Sweden!
Great Show!
Great tips, and Matt you might mention with the
L-BRKT also you may not have to readjust your tripod height when going from landscape to portrait
Great show. Thanks.
Great show guys. As usual you rock.
Great show guys! Love the format.
I watch several photography podcasts and D-Town is by far the best.
Thanks
Dave
Great show, always fun to see Joe. I would love to see some underwater tips.
Show # 45 was a great show. You guys keep up the great work.
Jim
Another great episode, guys! Keep up the good work.
Been away for a couple of weeks so just watched 3 back to back – great way to spend an evening
Great job guys as always!
Great show as always!! How about this ,for a possible idea for a topic on your show. While you are saving for those fast pro lenses, how about talking about some of the best ways to take advantage of those “kit” lenses you already have. For example, using a tripod, increase the ISO, close down a few stops, using vibration reduction, etc. There are many ways to take advantage of these inexpensive lenses.
Thanks for telling the people about the dangers of taking photos directly into the Sun!!
Great shows. Could you show some before and after affects of some of the software you’re giving away.
My comments are not showing up. Joe’s tip is not a D3s only feature. You can find it on all most every camera.
Stop by and say hi. http://www.redbubble.com/people/Pironik17
Great show, great tips. Keep up the good work!
As always, great show guys. Thanks!
Nice haircut Scott. Hope this helps me win !!
Been eyeing RRS equipment for a while. But need a good tripod first. So many things to spend money on, so little to purchase with!
-
Great show.
Congratulations gentlemen, for another great show, with a lot of useful informations, humour and funny t-shirts. Since I shake a lot, like a earthquake, to be precise I need to use a tripod in most of the shots, with the timer and, eventually, the mirror lock-up. After a few searches in the Net, I became aware that the viewfinder in that conditions must be closed for a metering. My experience seem to confirm this. I would like to ask if this id really a issue? I hope not to be asking a silly question, I would not like to be beaten to dead with a tripod…
Thanks again!
Hi! Again a Great Show!
Good job.
Thanks for another great show.
Excellent tip ballhead and L-bracket! I need to get one of these in the near future.
Thanks,
Ross
Hi Matt & Scottt,
Just got back from our vacation to Costa Rica (with D300, 17-55 & 70-200) and we took some great shots, some are on my website. When I got home, there were 3 new episodes of DTown waiting, great!
Now here’s a thing that might interest a lot of people: how would one balance best between lenses??
We switched a lot in Costa Rica, so a 2nd body is on the wishlist now. But rather than seeing the wishlist & travelbag grow, what tips can you give on being more efficient while traveling?
Kind regards,
Doede (the Netherlands)
Thanks guys!
Hi guys, love the show. Would love to win some stuff also…
Great show, I would like to see a show on Posing people, how to set up custom settings.
Great show, I would like to see a show on Posing people.custom setting.
That was a grandiose show as always
Hey why not a Phostoshopworld event in Europe.
London UK, would be a great location for a venue like PSW 2011
Tip for the show:::
When & how to use the Manual mode on the camera
Love the show, and it’s just getting better!
You guys ROCK!
Can cover how to geotag Photos with iPhone and Adobe/Bridge?
Another great show. Could you let us see a close up of the ball head and the L brackets?
Great Show! Very informative!
Thank you guys for this great show! I watch it here from sweden every week. You made me buy my first expensive DSLR, and it turned out to be a Nikon.
Great show, once again
Another great show. Thanks again guys.
I’ve been following you guys for over 2 years and never disappointed! Thanks for always providing such great info!
Question: When it’s time to upgrade camera and glass, do you have a position on which to upgrade first?
Love your shows
Guys, thanks again for another great show.
BTW Matt just some feedback on your suggestion from a few episodes ago about using black gaffer tape to cover up the make of your camera. I prefer to use black insulation tape instead for this purpose. Firstly it’s cheaper than gaffer tape and secondly the gum on insulation tape doesn’t leave as much a mess as gaffer tape when removing from your camera.
Thanks guys!
After a long hiatus from photography, I finally bought a DSLR and a couple of lenses this spring. While searching the web I came upon your site. Love it! I not only have learned many new things about digital photography, but have been refreshed with the many little things that I had previously applied to film many years ago. Now I am excited about learning Photoshop. Love the shows and I look forward to every new episode!
Great show. Thanks guys!
Is there any winners outside US?? I´m not bitter, just honest. Great show, by the way.
Good show once again guys.
You guys bring a whole new coolness to photography with your cool tips and cool previews not to mention your general coolness with all those cool cameras. BTW did I say you are cool?
Hi guys! Great show as usual, i look forward to the new episode each week.
Great show guys.
Just found kelbytv.com and I’m amazed. You rock and I suck, on my thumb, to comfort myself after you’ve bombed my brain with superb tricks and tips.
You are now in my favourites-list.
Thanks!
/Gherry
Great show! how about tips on controlling color
using shutter speed.
Thanks,
Joe
Another great show!
Hi from Ireland.
Great show, as always.
Great show, great tips. Way to go! Looking forward to the next episode
Hey,
Thanks again for a great show.
-Gabi
Another great show!
Another great show guys!
Scott’s new haircut is too short. Bring back the old Scott!
Hey guys, love the show!
I have a suggestion for a topic to cover on the show.
When going full frame what are the pros and cons of choosing Canon or Nikon respectively. I’m specifically interested in your opinions on the D700 and the 5D mark II.
At this point I only have a few nikon lenses so going Canon wouldn’t be that big of a deal for me in terms of money. What I want is a great camera and selection of lenses and accessories for shooting urban landscapes, people, architecture and all of those more often than not in low light.
I know it’s a biggie and a difficult one the answer, but it would be sweet to hear your opinions on the issue.
Cheers!
/Christian
Christian
When anybody asks me what camera to buy ? First is buy what you can afford and then some. If you were buying a house thats what you’d do so do with your camera gear. Second try out the cameras , rent them for a weekend (stores will then discount the rental off the camera price). And Thirdly and most importantly buy the one that fits in your hand. If you cant get at the controls quickly and comfortably you will end up leaving the camera at home and a camera at home is just an ornament.
Don’t get hung up on which camera gear or software gear is better ( it annoys the hell outta me when I hear this question ) try them all and use the one that fits you best.
Howdy
Great Show!
Thanks Matt and Scott!
Great show! Matt should not pick on Joe so much.
Hey, love your show! I have a Nikon D80 and I’m wondering if you could tell me the easiest way to change my focal point while shooting? Thank you so much.
You guys make my week – keep up the great work.
Hi! Thanks for the show.
Mandalay Bay is a amazing. Looking forward to Photoshop World Conference & Expo 2010
I beilieve that TUMI Safecase is the BEST laptop case ever. It is an Expandable Organizer Computer Brief type….and it is Best Bar NONE!
Lots of great information guys!
Interesting giveaway this week.
Great show you guys! Maybe you guys could talk about how to keep dust off your prints and frames while framing your pictures? Any tips?
Thank you for giving your time to this show.
Great show guys. Always love watching
Good stuff!
Thanks guys on another show…how about tips on shooting kids and babies…and what lens you like to use if you only could use one lens to shoot them with?
Hi guys,
another great video !
see you on PSW !
Hello
Great Vid !!
Thank you for the show. I have been watching it sense you have started. I have always looked forward to the new episodes.
I, however, did not like this one. I felt like it was one big commercial for all the stuff you guys like and use. I felt like the only part that was a little useful was the cheap shots section. I don’t like having a complaint with out having a solution, but I’m not sure how to help. Shows I have really liked were the flash shows and lens shows from the first season. Of more recently, Scott’s studio lighting tips were great.
Please keep all the great lessons and tips coming.
Once again great show however, too short.
If this show was a 30 minutes per week it would be great.
Got my D90 last week.
I would accept the give away
Thank you.
The show before last you mentioned the Pocket Wizards with their incredible radio frequency range.
Sounds great but do their 4 separate channels allow ratio adjustments between the groups… you know, like the Nikon SB-900s and the Elinchrom Skyports?
Thanks again for this great show!
Enjoyed the tip on the L-bracket. Will be looking for that when I upgrade.
Love the show!
Thanks gents!
SAY IT AIN’T SO JOE!!!!! The save / load settings to a cf card is also on the D3 sorry you got rid of your D3’s because of it HA HA HA.
Would you recommend a fisheye lens for shooting trains coming toward you? just kidding….thanks for the laughs and the GREAT information!!
Love the Really Right Stuff stuuf (except the cost, of course). If either of you use the panning head for panorams I would love to see some tips on using it. Thanks.
Great show this week..
Wish I could afford a Skyport Speed. Have to put that on my wish list.
Love your lightroom 2 book -
scanned it and keep it opened on my computer for reference while I work
Just got lightroom 3 and need my reference…….
hi guys…nice tips…thanks.
Enjoyed the show as always. I will give a thumbs up to Adorama. Got my D40 there are they were very supportive and knowledgeable on the phone and my order was shipped quickly and arrived in perfect condition.
Could you show some tips on using the Quantum T5D-R flash?
Hooray for Scott’s new book! Pick me!
… and stuff
Great show this week. I really enjoyed it.
Great Show, I would like to know, because I can only afford to but used, how can you find how many shots the camera has done.
Thanks Terry
I liked the tip about the cheap rain poncho.
great show
Hi Scott and Matt,
I’m writing you from Brisbane, Australia. Great show, and even though I make my living from photography, I always learn a lot from you guys, especially the little handy gadgets available.
A question to cover on your show: Is it better to enable Noise Reduction in camera (I use a D300), or fix it later in Lightroom 3 or Photoshop CS5, or both?
Cheers and keep up the good work!
Mark Johnson
Good show . Would like to see more tips on taking great photos , less marketing on equipment. But don’t get me wrong i like seeing whats new.
hey guys good show as always. My question to the two of you is, when you send your pictures to be printed to an outside lab what do you do to get the best quality prints back?
thanks guys…
Great show!
Isn’t the volume kind a low on the videos?
My laptop isn’t the best when it comes to audio, but the DTown clips have much lower volume then most other videos.
great show
Great show……again
Really enjoy the show guys, great job… I’m a Pentax K7 shooter (please no heckling) would love to see a little broader coverage of different brands if at all possible. Not sure how that would sit with the sponsors but you never know if you don’t ask. Anyway well done guys love what you do.
I really love the show! I really want the Photoshop Lightroom 3 Book
this contest thingie is a great way to get comments..
You guys seriously ROCK! I’m from Denmark working as a tourleader all around the world so I got the perfect opportunity to get around taking different photos, just started about 2 months ago really to photograph since I got my DSLR Canon 500D with a 18-135 mm lense
But to the case – I love what you’re doing, and helping others to become better, great job!
.. Already got several of your books Scott, like Lightroom 2.5, Digital Photography vol. 1-2 which have helped me a lot maybe the next book will come soon
The only thing that I thing could be if you f.eks. showed how you guys fight the difficulty of handholding the camera to get these tack-sharp photos – if ofcause you don’t have your tripod with you. And howcome you always show stuff with the nikon? could be nice with some canon, and perhaps also some consumer dslr? know you did it in the beginning
Anyway keep up the good work – looks forward to what you’ll show next week
Chill guys
Thanks as always. It’s hard to believe that you still share those 45 episodes of valuable information for free ;] (Even though some if it tends to be repeated, like this week’s Joe’s tip – it was exactly what Moose said in episode 19)
Hey guru guys. I have heard you talking about D-Town TV when i watched Photshopusertv, i have many times thougt about watching it and finally i did. Its very cool to have all these tips and inspiration for free.
I learn a lot from you guys especially from Dave Cross who i extremely clever when i comes to Photoshop and working with pictures. Scott i have all your 3 books of photography and the make it so easy to shoot great pictures.
Once again guys, great show. Now off to get some cheap poncho’s.
Great episode!
gimme gimme gimme – i realy need to read up on lightroom 3
Horse
You guys are awesome…I look forward to your show each week…. learning something new each episode
I went to B&N to buy your lightroom 3 book and It’s not available until the 15th!! boo
Great show! How about a search option for you videos. I was looking for a specific product review and took me awhile to find it.
matt, scott, you are both somewhat cool but larry rocks
I’m looking forward to see you again
Great Show As Usual.
Thanks
Hey guys,
This is for Larry Becker:
I take my ENTIRE studio on location by strapping everything onto a medical gurney I bought used (cheap) from my local ambulance crew. I stick it all loaded into my old Taurus wagon and go. I am shooting food for packaging for 2 days at a client’s own site beginning tomorrow and will bring my entire studio (very comfortable) in my lowly Taurus!
Sounds good to me. I like the gurney and Taurus idea, but imagine how cool it would be if you bought a whole used ambulance at an auction or something! Tons of little cabinets. You could keep all kinds of gear in there. Heck, you could even have a whole make-up station for models on-location. Hmmmm…
I think I’m gonna go to the County Public Works auction this weekend.
hmmmm…. some error with my post… but here it goes…
im the 427th comment and i hope you guys will read this even though im at the bottom…
GREAT SHOW! im getting the L-bracket next…
do you have any suggestions on how you store our gear in a bag/case/closet? i live in the tropics and humidity here is a big issue… any recommendations in the drying gels, etc.
thanks…
Another great show. I loved the information on the ball head and L bracket.
I didn´t mean a train.
I never shoot trains, they are to dangerous. I only shoot flowers, they are not that fast
All the best
Love the show, I would like to see more on DSLR video.
Another great show guys! Thanks.
Good show, again.
Hi, Just watched the show after the Holiday. Could you do a show on remote shutter releases and your favorite brand to use.
Hey Guys,
I was wondering if you would ever mention computer hardware you use or recommend as eventually digital images go to a computer.
Thanks
Hi!
Would love you guys to cover pros and cons of different tripods and ballheads for different types of use. You mentioned some interesting points in this show. I am in the market for a small, compact, lightweight tripod that I can carry while hiking.
I have a great idea for a new segment for the show that I’d be happy to host. Drop me an email and we’ll discuss.
Thanks for another great episode.
Thanks for the tip about the L-Bracket. I don’t (yet) have a L-Bracket, and the one issue I have that you didn’t mention, is that the weight of my lens slowly tips my camera down towards the floor when I’m in portrait mode.
I’ll be purchasing an L Bracket just as soon as I can afford the extra cash.
Hey guys, great show as usual!
I’d love to see some tips on shooting larger groups.
That and/or how to shoot on the beach. It is summer time, might as well throw in some vacation tips!!
Thanks and keep up the great work!!
I hate your show! I never get to get one of your “give-away” things. I need the Lightroom 3 book but can’t afford it as I just upgraded to LR2 and my wife will beat me if i now buy yet another photography book!
Another great show, thanks.
first time seeing this.. will return
Great episode! I had my camera tip over while shooting fireworks on the 4th…luckily it fell on soft grass, but that L-bracket looks perfect for keeping the center of gravity where it needs to be.
On a side note…have you ever thought of doing an episode in off camera flash with a lot of info on Canon gear, best ways to trigger wireless flashes, etc? The info is all out there, but it’s in so many places and can get a bit confusing…i think people would really trust you guys, and benefit from having all that info (or at least a big chunk) in one place?
Keep up the great work!
Matt
Can you do a segment on bracketing shots?
You guys ROCK!
Great show guys, keep it up.
Crap, I couldn’t believe the number of comments! I have read some of them and they are funny! You can always tell the rookies!
Great Show!! Loved the ballhead advice, I don’t know how I managed before I bought one.
Another great show
thanks,
Dennis M
Great show! =) And thnx for the tips on the ballhead!
I hope Joe McNally’s feet heal from the nails.
Great show guys.
I need Scott’s new book. So “Pick Me!!”
And as for topics, I’d love it if Scott talked about how he combines shooting family snapshots with shots of buildings or urban landscapes etc. when on Vacation. He’s blogged about vacations and shown the book of the kinds of photos he likes. And he mentioned creating a book of family snapshots too.
I’d be interested in how he manages to try and get both kinds of photos in a given location with an entire family waiting on him. (“come on Dad… hurry up!”)
great show!
Guys,
Another excellent show!
Awesome show as usual. I would like to see a show about studio-photografy for beginners, with cheaper gear and such. Anyways, keep ‘em coming!
Hey Guys,
Great show. I had a question on the Sky port transmitter. Can you use it as a master for you Flash as well or just studio lights?
Thanks for all the info!
You guys are still cool
Great show guys. Loved the tips about the L-bracket and ballhead for landscapes.
Another great show!
i just wanna say hey! and leave you a comment
I really love your show guys, in most every episode there is an “oh yeah”.
Good Show.
Good show! Could you do a show on sensor dust and how to properly remove it.
Well done for the shows and content.
Maybe a feature or series of little features on model make-up would help lone photographers who cannot always have a make-up artist to help.
Perhaps a section on some excellent lenses from Pentax and Olympus? Some folks buy these bodies just for the lenses and also use Nikon and Canon.
Kind Regards from Rome, Italy.

Garrick
Great show
Hey guys…great show as always! Larry- a large trash bag works too…to lay on, kneel on or to wrap a camera bag when the weather turns on you…and weighs and costs next to nothing
Thanks again. Can we see some tips on the graduated filter in use, and maybe compare it to using a filter in lightroom or photoshop if we don’t have a filter in the field?
Thanks
You guys ROCK! And Matt, I had a dream about you the other day. It is too juicy to leave in this comment box!!!!
Another great show with excellent tips….I too carry a few of those cheap ponchos, You never know when dealing with Mother Nature.
Great show guys. Maybe you could do a segment on high speed sync with flash. Thanks again for all your hard work on the show.
I am new to dslr so not much to add yet. Would ask if my boss contacts you dont tell him how much time I spend here and on Kelby Training while at work.
I have the L-brackett and I love it, In addition to your comments on the ball, I fount the L-brackett saves me having to re-compose my shot.
Another great show!
Another great show! Keep up the good work.
That L bracket looks really cool, wonder if they are in the shop in Aus.
Thank You guys for the tips! great show i always watching you guys sense the episode 1 i always recommended u guys to watch from my friend here in Canada and Philippines. Thank you and God Bless.
Thanks guys, good show but more shooting tips please.
Great job guys. I am member of kelbytraining.com
Scott and matt would you please cover landscape photography with different color filter and which are good Cokin , lee ect…
Thanks….
Nice Job.
Great Show. Please cover landscape color filter for diffrent color effect.
Just an addition, if you like l-brackets you should take a look at the digital-pro series of Custom Brackets. They are quite expensive, but you can switch from horizontal to vertical very quickly without dismounting the camera:
http://www.custombrackets.com/scripts/prodViewnew.asp?idproduct=122
Great show especially Joe McNally’s segment. Learnt somethnig new about my D3S!
thanks
Great show..
i hope to see more tips on portrait
Really liked the show. Matt did a good job explaining why you want the L-bracket on your camera!
Hi Scott, when does your new book The Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 Book for Digital Photographers get released in the UK
Thanks
Will
Great show guy’s, i check your site every week for new episodes!
Perhaps you can explain the use of color gels on a flash. Not why you should use them, but how, settings etc.
Whenever anyone demos any form of portrait photography, there is always a beautiful model. It would help me and probably lots of others to do a series on how to handle problems such as age, being too heavy, having a big nose, etc. This is real world for most of the world.
Great Shows….how about working in some Canon gear?
Great job. Keep up the good work.
awsome as allways.
Great!
nice video
Great Show
Hey guys, just entering the contest:) Been watching D-Town since it started, and the other shows for even longer:)
Enjoyed the show once again. Thanks.
Love your show…
I have been using the throw away ponchos for years. I also keep a kitchen sized-garbage bag in my camera bag.
Another great episode. I really enjoyed the tips from Larry Becker.
keep up with the show.
Nick the Swiss
Great show, great tip on D3s settings which BTW also works with D300s.
Great show guys – thanks!!
At first I was just thinking someone was being sarcastic about the train coming towards you comment. Later I began thinking that I attended a really cool photography and video event at a RR museum earlier in the year where they roped off an area for us to set up and had the train make several passes so that we could photograph it. Perhaps something like this is what the person was referring to…he/she may not be that crazy after all.
Hi guys,
Thanks for all super shows. Can you show us and say something about color calibration of monitors or LCD.
Thanks
Petr
Thanks guys. Good stuff as always!
Need some tips on calibrating new Imac back lit lcds if you guys have any.
Can us people watching up in Canada win your give aways as well???
Great episode guys! You should do a segment on using a tripod in a church! I have always wanted to but the security always harrases me!
or maybe you could do something on how to get Photoshop world on the cheap without hitch hiking from Canada…
Great show again guys!
Terrific!
Thanks to Larry Becker’s great tips!!! I look forward to a new one every week.
Another great show as usual
Thanks, guys
cheap shots – why not use large trash bags–weather protect your large bag, cheaper than zip locks, can be used as weather hoods when shooting in rain etc
why not have a session with really right stuff
Why not a session with wimbley
PS I look forward to each episode
Keep up the great work. What a wonderful resource for pros and beginners alike!
do you have some tip’s for shooting in cold and snowy conditions?
As always, love the show!! Hey, I’d love to see Matt “on location” at a faux wedding for some quick tips. Thanks.
You guys rock! \m/
Like everyone else here, love the shows! Keep up the great work!! And Larry…keep them “cheap” shots coming!
Another great show guys. Thanks
thanks for a great show!!
as always, great show
awesome show
Thanks for the show
You guys still rock it every week. Fantastic work, thank you.
i really enjoy the shooting tips – how certain shots are accomplished. thanks
As someone else pointed out, please do an episode dedicated to us amateurs on a budget. Keep up the good work!
Great show. Keep up the good work.
Great Show!
Scott, Matt, what brand of hard drives do you use for back ups?
Hi guys, love the show. What ’s your opinion on Sony camera’s . Are you doing any show’s in the UK ?
You guys rocks as always with great tips and advice.
I am just wondering, I’ve noticed that cameras you’re holding in your shows are so shiny in black. Is it a brand new camera, or a show camera or my eyes is just doing some tricks on me. I’m sure if it’s a working camera it loses the black shine on it, so how do you maintain the shine on it? Do you use a cleaning agent or some sort of polishing?
Again a big fan, keep it up you’re like my guru every week always looking forward to the next episode.
Great show guys… gutted I can’t make the photo walk this year… London’s sold out! Shame. Thanks
Great show once again. Nice ideas for protecting your gear if it rains. Large trash bags work well also for laying on the wet yucky ground!
Thanks for the great show!
Love the show, catch it every week. Yes, Joe McNally is the man! Really love the tips on studio lights, shoots, etc such as the V-flat and the light fall off last week. Please keep it going.

Another great show–can’t wait until next week.
another great show.
thanks for doing this show. I have learned a lot from your tips and equipment reviews.
I have a question: what are you thoughts about a signature on your prints you sell to clients? should I or shouldn’t I do this?
thanks
D town is great and thanks for all the Nikon info….See you next week….
i just wanna know if anybody won the price just by saying hi? i’m just curious. more power guys!
Great show guys
Great show, as always.
I don’t recall if you’ve ever done a show on this subject, but I would be very interested in how hyperfocus works. I’ve seen the tables and have used it, but just don’t know the theory behind it.
Keep up the great work. You always come up with something different each week.
Loved the episode..we need a more detailed segment or even a whole episode on tripodes and how to choose them please.
Another good show!
Great show as usual. Can you discuss the laptop computers that you use including the screen size, RAM and hard drive.
Thanks
Great show, as usual….

Free is good. Looking forward to the photowalk. Going with my 11 year old son.

As usual, you guys do not disappoint. Have you guys changed the camera you shoot the show with? Something is different.
Another great show. I am very much looking forward to the chat with David Tejada.

Using ziplock bags is a great idea. Thanks.
Great work guys! Keep it up!
I wonder what eye cup is installed on Matt’s 1st camera when he was talking about ball head?
Hi. Great show! Loved Matt’s tip on graduated filter without having the filter. Thanks.
Great show, guys!
Strangely my comment from yesterday has disappeared so I repeat it:
what kind of eyecup is attached to Matt’s 1st (D90?) camera visible during 1st part of the show?
great show!!
why is matt always so mean to Joe? lol.
Hi guys…
Why the Nikon D3s instead of the D3X?
Which do you prefer and why?
Toby
My question is this. I am always shooting 95% of the time in raw. Even though I have many choices in Raw. As far as color setting. I use to have my camera set to shooting Menu/Color Space/Adode RGB. Also on my CS4 software. But, change it to SRGB on my D3 and CS4 Software and noticed a brighter punch when printing on my 7880 Espon printer.
Isn’t the SRGB more of a web color. I became more happier on my prints using FineArt Baryta paper on the Images.
So I am assuming for print design work Adobe RGB is more of a design print for Indesign (brochures, books, etc) and not really for a fine art design ( photographs).
Hey guys love the show, I would like to see more Canon specific tips though…..
Hey guys
I loved it
I start watching the show recently and truthly love
Thanks (^__^)
Isn’t there any chance that you guys camoe to Australia?
Thank you guys…been watching for about 20 episodes and what I thought was going to be just for beginners has really taught me a lot. Thank you.

Hey guys I love this show – totally addicted!
Could please think about showing something in the future about Auto FP high-speed sync and how/when to use it?
Keep up the awesome work guys and keep the episodes coming! …oh, and if you want to give me some free stuff that would be ok too hehe
Love D-Town TV and all the other shows at Kelby TV. Great work…..
Hi guys, just watch the show, fantastic , and as always very informative.
Have seen Larry Beckers tip on keeping your gear dry, and I thought I would tell you about what I use, its a product called ” Fabsil” it for waterproofing tents awnings etc simple to use just zip your camera bag up and spray it all over with the fabsil. Living in the Highlands of Scotland we get our fair share of rain !.
Keep up the great work guys , and look forward to more riveting episodes.
I just want to thank you all for the great shows.
I am a retired Navy photographer and I hope I never stop learning about my passion of taking photos. I own a lot of your books and watch your D town and Photoshop Users TV all the time. Thanks for giving so much of your talent and knowledge to others. Thanks Scott & Matt and Larry for great cheap shots.
( Hey man… I want to win a prize too… !
)
Looking above @comment #578 – Hey – another former US Navy Photographer! Me too – USS Midway CV-41 – 1984-1987, Yokosuka, Japan.
Anyway guys (Scott & Matt): A little “tip” perhaps to tell people about – nikon shooters in particular. You know those crappy plastic LCD screen protectors that the bodies ship with? They get wickedly scratched up in short order and you wind up having to replace them? Dump ‘em and get one of these instead – google “GGS Screen Protector”. Find the one that fits your body and then just buy it – these things rock! ( seriously )
Ok – do I win? *grin*
How about some recommendations on which neutral density filters to get. Because, I see they really expensive.
Great show!
Tackar för lärorika program, kanon för mig som nybörjare
Great show..LOVE you guts.Always great info.
