  1. Chris Moncus says:

I see you guys almost exclusively recommend Wescott and Elinchrom gear. Even the “less expensive” stuff isn’t that much less expensive. I use gear from Cowboy Studio which is usually 1/3 the price of Wescott and in my experience, as good quality. As a request, I’d love to see more brands mentioned. There are so many great brands that deserve a mention and aren’t overpriced.

  2. Jonathan Ptolemy says:

    Great show. Light meter episode?

  3. Tyler says:

I waited a week for a ten minute product review? C’mon guys, at least make this thing 20 minutes so you can cover more products, not to mention more time to plug your ads.

  4. Jeff Grooms says:

Good Show again guys. How about a show on night photography and light trails ?

  5. Jared Chapin says:

Yeah Kinda quick. at least 15min guys

  6. Thomas says:

Good Show. Ever consider a show on end to end “color management: how to make it work for you?”.

  7. Ivan Kuzmin says:

Hi, I like your show a lot! I was wondering what could you tell me about Nikon 80-400 mm lens? Thank you!

  8. Jared CHAPIN says:

Chris I have been following the Guys for several years. You pretty much wont see them talk about gear unless they are using it themselves. & usually also seems to be a sponsor of the show.

I don’t always like it either but hey its their show & their money to spend.

  9. [...] lastly, the second episode of new season of DTown TV is up! This is our first “tech review gear guide” episode [...]

  10. Great show! Maybe you can ask other photographers to tell something about the gear they use! (Like Moose Peterson)

  11. [...] of you who remember DTown TV – the brainchild of Scott Kelby and Matt Kloskowski – it’s back for season two. Originally branded as the “Show for Nikon shooters”, DTown has come back more camera [...]

  12. Kevin Melody says:

Excellent that you guys are back!

I’ve been through season one again and it never fails to teach me something new!

    Keep up the good work!

  13. John Caetano says:

Wow…talk about ungrateful people… Thanks for another episode guys.

  14. Christopher Curtin says:

Like the show Guys. Maybe a product review once a month?

I have seen a photo technique where the subject is lit with a single flash and the background is blacked out. (ie. head shots) Many of the photographers say they take these pictures in a lit room with no black background . Can you guys show how this is done.

Thanks and keep up the great work.

  15. Alex says:

I like your show. Would be nice if you colud do it for 15-20 minuts. Good luck.

  16. Joe Levine says:

You were talking about using some studio lighting and explained it but would have loved to see some examples on how the lighting is used

  17. Suzanne says:

Good show…always learn something. Glad you are continuing with the series….

  18. Ty says:

Good show.. I was wondering myself why grids are just as expensive as the softboxes themselves. =/

    See you next week.

  19. Mark says:

    Love the product show.
Good to see things like studio gear covered which is often pricey. It’s not easy to see some decent demos of such products and how they work at times until you have already handed over the money.
I would love to see your opinions on G-Clamp vs Justin Clamp (Sp?) as I’m scratching my head over which type would come in more useful.
Cheers guys, thanks for the great show!

  20. Kata187 says:

To be honest, not the really impressed with these kinda shows. Skipped for the most part. I will prob watch every other week.

Thanks for the hard work tho guys!

  21. Ravsitar says:

    FYI

The RSS feed you list on the front of the DTown page still DOES NOT include the videos. It’s just the show page update. My podcatcher wont grab the episodes automatically.

    Please address this.

  22. Rick says:

Would you do a review of the various types of Expodiscs. There’s a neutral, warm and portrait. I’ve also read that if you buy one for the largest lense you have, you can hold it over the smaller ones and it works just fine. Comments; thoughts?

  23. Neil says:

The way you approached season 1 was fantastic, it really helped us go to the next level with our photography. So far season 2 of Dtown seems cheap and I fear the quality tips and tricks aren’t going to be as good as season one.

Guys, please consider pitching DTown at a level that will help us be better photographers like season 1. I have to say I dont care much for episode 26.

Dont want to come across as ungrateful, I appreciate all the hard work your putting in. Thanks!

  24. ZLH says:

Great show! Thanks for the effort!

I’m not sure if it is just me, I find the sound in the video really soft. I’ve maxed out all my volume controls on my laptop and I still could hardly hear what you guys were talking on the show. Anything you could do to make it louder in the next episode?

  25. Hashem says:

Hi guy, your great thanks for the info

  26. I liked Episode 26 thanks for the info on product and the tech update…. See you at Photoshop World Orlando Fl 2010…

  27. Michael says:

The strip band and egg crate were neat and something I haven’t seen before. I would have been nice if you could of snapped a couple of quick pics to show the results of using them compared to their placement. Great episode though and glad you guys are back.

  28. Marty Fox says:

I am absolutely hooked on this show. It would be interesting to see a show on what a pro goes through on an assignment. From getting the pass to post process and sale. When I say pass, I guess I’m thinking of a sporting event. Can’t wait for the next episode!

  29. Alessy says:

Is there a way to watch videos on Iphon or ipod ?

Anyway it is a great show !

    thanks

  30. Paul Anderson says:

I just got caught up on the season 2 videos, now I have to go catch up on season 1. Good stuff here. I started with photography back in 1972 and going from using film to digital my brain went dead with all of the bells and whistles my camera has. You guys help me take my mind off the bells and whistles and use my camera the way I know how to and fit a bell or a whistle in as I go. Thanks!

  31. Eric B says:

I am soooo glad these shows are back. Everyone is chock full of DSLR goodness. Keep’m coming.

  32. Skip says:

Will you go over what SLOW SYNC is and how to use it. Thank you and I love your show.

  33. L3S says:

I have a combined gear review and photo tip request: would you please cover camera straps (up-strap, blackrapid R-strap, domke) and demonstrate how you handle two camera bodies. I tried it at a high school basketball game last night and nearly strangled myself (funniest home videos anyone?) and viewers come in many shapes and sizes including smaller , which makes the videos even better, especially with Randy Newman in the background.

  34. Tony says:

Great to see you are back! :)

  35. Khudfly says:

Relax people…this is a very informative FREE show! Stop complaining about the length. Where else can you get this good of info and all you have to do is plop your behind down on the couch and hit the enter button? Thanks for the show and keep up the good work guys. I learn something each time I watch. (and I need a lot o’ learnin’!!)

  36. mayo tablas says:

are you no longer participating with zune podscasts

  37. Cris says:

Great show… You might want to activate Silver Efex Pro. :)

  38. Joyce Matthews says:

I love this site . It is so useful. Keep it coming

  39. I use my Yamaha keyboard bag for carrying light stands and other gear. It looks almost identical to the bag that you promoted…long, square with padding and it rolls. Great for airports!

  40. Terry Mehl says:

great show as usual.. have the D300S and will use David Tejada’s tip. Great Tip!
