Episode Summary
This tutorial is referenced in the new episode (Ep 25) of D-Town TV. Matt Kloskowski generates an HDR image using Photomatix and then takes it into Photoshop for some final touches.
This is the first time that I have watched D-Town-TV and it certainly won’t be the last. It was both interesting in content and a well polished presentation. I found the HDR tips by Matt to be worthwhile and the follow-up video on processing was well worth watching. Well done and thank you.
Loved the show! As I do all the other Kelbytv shows. It’s amazing how much you can pick up from a 10-15 minute video. I’ll definitely be returning to watch this show again as well as the others yet to come.
Great show, thnx for the HDR tutorial ,learned a lot again
One Question. if ya show a example for a change through the lens by a filter or some ..is it possible to exual showing the difference between it to us the viewers ?
for example the filter Scott showed in the show how a image looks with or without the filter.
Only a suggestion for people like me who don’t have filters or other extenders in their gear .
Thnx for reading
greets
ps
sorry for the native English
I’m glad to see you and Scott back for a 2nd season.
The HDR trolley car video was great. Question… When you add the stationary trolley car image, have you ever tried making a duplicate of the desired RAW image and using both to create a second image to Tonemap? Then use the recipe from the first Tonemap and carry that over to Photoshop for use as the underlayer.
Wow, my first time watching D-Town and I loved it! I am a Canon shooter and thought it was just a Nikon program until I read Scott’s blog about it. Glad I checked it out. I’m looking forward to more episodes! Thanks for the great tips!!
Thanks for coming back!
Do you guy’s have a tip on what to do when I’m shooting white stuff in HDR that’s supposed to be white?
Shot my bright white cabin as an HDR, and it ends up as grey when I’m using Photomatix…
Great to see you back on air and latest show was of great interest for me. I’m really trying to progress by HDR shooting and p/processing and this latest lesson was invaluable. Thanks
hey guys – really great stuff! thx for these tutorial!
i have a question for you – i’ve been to Jerez(spain) in december taking a few really cool shots of the formula one test driving but the problem is, that they are all kind of flat!
i used a eos 450d with a 80 – 200 lens (canon) and put up the shutter up to 1/2000 (kind like that) ’cause of the fast cars
could you provide me(and i think i’m not the only one) how to increase such kind of flat photos?
I get message that the HDR bonus can’t be played on my iPhone. The first episode (second season) was fine. Same problem as came up in Season One sometimes.

Great show, glad to make you part of my thursday routine again! Love the tips on the HDR Matt…
Great to have you guys back. Superb tutorial on the trolley/HDR.
I noticed what appeared to be a Canon camera/lens on Matt’s desk. Perhaps a sign of broadening the subject matter and thus the audience?
