LAST EPISODE I WANTED TO SHOOT SOME SHOTS FOR HDR AND THANKS TO JOHNNIE WHO TOLD ME TO GO BACK TO EPISODE 2 TO LEARN HOW TO DO IT. WELL I DID LISTEN TO THE EPISODE AND I TOOK THE SHOTS USING THE FUNCTION BUTTON AND SETTING THE DIAL TO THE AMOUNT OF SHOTS I NEED. IT SEEMS NOW THAT I TOOK ALLL THOSE SHOTS I CAN’T GET OUT OF THIS MODE. ANYTIME I TAKE A PHOTO IT SEEMS TO GO UP ONE MORE STOP EACH TIME EVEN THOUGH IT IS A DIFFERENT SCENE EACH TIME JUST ONE MORE STOP MORE. DOES ANYBODY KNOW HOW TO GET OUT OF THIS.JOHNNIE ARE YOU STILL THERE OR ANYBODY.
    THANKS MANNY.

  28. ralphdaily says:

OMG. DTown TV is/was the height of my week. I download it and watch it on my iPhone the next morning at Starbucks while having a cup of coffee. I know that’s pitiful, but I really have enjoyed DTown TV and had never thought about it stopping. Tell Nikon I spent a lot of money on Nikon because of this show. It makes you want everything.

On a more positive note, you did a really nice job on the show and I look forward to the new one.

    Ralph

  29. BC says:

Nikon has provided video tutorials past the DTown TV series exceeds those in information and personality. DTown TV has made my camera so much more useful and fun. Many of features and capabilities were unknown to me. The DTown TV format should set the standard for all camera manufactures. I hope the series continues.
    Thanks

You guys are the kind of people out with which we will not put!

  34. arz says:

Hmmm, this is rather a surprise. If you guys know ahead of time that this is the last show, you would’ve announce it last week or prior and call this a “grand finali” or something.

Nonetheless, good stuff overall, thank you!

  35. Donald says:

Thanks! I picked up some really great tips from your shows.

  38. Ric says:

Thanks so much for the investment of your time in us. You have encouraged me to shoot more and shoot more confidently. After each show, I was usually overcome with NAS (Nikon acquisition syndrome) but, thanks to you, I was shopping with a purpose. It is sad to realize you are changing directions. B&H will miss your show also!

I certainly hope that Nikon renews your contract so we can stay current and get more of your top-notch content.

  46. Wayne says:

Thanks guys. The shows were great. We always played the shows here in the office to an audience of half a dozen every Friday. I’m not a pro but not a beginner either and always found something new or helpful in refreshing my memory each week . I personally found the episodes on the flashes especially helpful. Everyone here wants to know how Moose Peterson was able to get that huge Bison into the studio safely.

  47. Jim B says:

Thanks for a great series. Hurry back.

  48. Scott Bourne says:

Congrats on a great run guys. I know first-hand how much work video production is and this series was top-notch, full of info and best of all free. The show was a great service to the Nikon folks and I am sure whatever comes next will be equally valuable. Thanks again!

  49. JoeyBoyDee says:

Really disappointed show is ending and viewing the last episode its obvious you guys are disappointed as well after creating such a fine show. Something is very strange here as this should not happen to Scott Kelby having his show pulled. Can the fans do anything to help??

  50. James Holland says:

Thanks guys for all great 24 episodes. They were very valuable to us Nikon shooters. Sure hate to miss my weekly fix of DTown but I know you deserve a rest. I can’t wait to see what you guys have in mind for us next. I am sure it will be just as rewarding.

All the best in your future ventures.

  63. Qube says:

Oooh, do I sense the “Kelby Digital Imaging Network”?
24hrs a day of nothing but vodcasts on all things digital imaging – the ultimate interent aggregation of things Nikon, Canon, Photoshop, Lightroom, Aperture, gear reviews, rumors – the whole CMOS shootin gamut – bringing together all the top photo dudes in podcasting and blogging today. Awesome!!

Hmm…I’d have to foget about ever getting any work done. And, having so many people named Scott on one channel could be confusing. :D
What the heck, roll camera on station KDIN!

  64. Dave says:

Thanks for the show. I’m sorry to have you go dark, but hope a new show will appear. I’ve learned a lot and actually bought (and considered buying other) a Nikon lens as a result of watching your show. I will miss this show a great deal and assure you I have watched all 24 episodes.

  65. Anders says:

What can i say? NO! The highlight of the week is going of the air (web?). Thanks guys for a great show. It really makes me sad to see this era end.

  66. Michael says:

Final Episode…. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement, I have learnt so much from each episode, and I’ve converted all my Nikon shooterFriends to Dtown, Canon user Friends have been a bit envious

I know there is something new in the pipeline, but a Nikon specific Podcast was a terrific resource, Maybe Nikon could be convinced to sponsor it as an official video podcast and keep us Nikon shooters up to speed, ie give the loyal Nikon users something back.

In these recessionary times, that would be very cost effective not to mention being a good neighbour….

    Over to you Nikon…

but Fellas, thanks for the last half year and looking forward to the new entity.

  67. Norman says:

Thanks scott,Matt,Brad Great Show I learned a lot.

    thanks,
    D90user

  68. Suzaidee says:

Thanks to everyone at DTownTV…really a great show not just for Nikon, but also for photographer… can’t wait for the new show

  69. Jim says:

I too, will miss this show. It came along at the time I bought my D700 and it was a God- send to quickly learning about my camera. I have watched Photoshop user tv almost from its beginning as well.

Can hardly wait to see what the new show will be. Thanks Scott and Matt for all your work in bringing us Dtown TV

    You guys are great teachers!

  70. Steve Thompson says:

Sorry to see this weekly show end. I’ve enjoyed it immensely. Thank You. The best part was seeing the new tools and accessories demonstrated. The down side was my wish list and monetary output expanded greatly.

Can’t wait to see what develops with the new show.

  71. Vincent says:

    Hi guys !
I watch you from France since the first show ! I realy like it, I learned lots of things about photograph thanks to you (And it also help me to improve my english ! :D )

  76. Rocky says:

Thanks for a great show, sorry to see it end though. It was nice having a Nikon specific program and really helped me use all the features in my D90. Looking forward to your new show! (Hopefully the new program will be less expense than the last – for me I mean. I keep buying all the great lenses and accessories you guys recommend!)

  77. Digitalschmigital says:

I read my D70s manual three times trying to get my wireless flash feature working. No luck, so I finally bought a long flash connection cable. The next week, DtownTV came along and solved the dilemma in one episode. So many mysteries solved and insights provided, I’ll be holding my breath until the new show in unveiled.

    Thanks guys!

  78. canfiti says:

Scott and Matt thanks for all the time and effort in the show. It was what i was looking foe each Thursday while downloading my Podcast for Thursday’s. Will miss the shoe but if I know you and Matt you will be back with more Dtowntv soon. Nikon Please Sponsor them for the Next 2 Year. I know that that I have personally showed this Podcast to 20 people and they have all gone out and bought New Nikon cameras to replace their old SLR.

    Love DtownTV,
    Canfiti

  79. Berniem says:

Is there any chance Nikon will come out with a firmware update that will allow the D300 to shoot video like the D300s?

    Thanks for a great series.

  80. Shawn says:

I never missed an episode, ton’s of learning, great tips, can’t wait for the new show.

  81. ChristopherP says:

My Saturday morning coffee and DTown TV became an institution along with my long time viewing of Photoshop TV and my Nikonians Image Doctors. Your high quality show, and gift for reaching across the user knowledge levels made this show a gift to all of us. I will miss this show. I will be a viewer of the new one. I hope your mix of content, with a Nikon bias will continue. I especially appreciated the Capture NX2 tips and the Flash segments. As the other poster said, thanks for the great ride. Thank Moose and your other guest as well. Hope to see more of them down the line.

  82. Jim says:

Thanks for all the great tips through all the episodes. I learned a lot from you two and enjoyed watching your show. I will be looking forward to your new show in a month or so.

THANKS for all the work you two put into the program

    Jim

  83. Patrick says:

    Scott & Matt,

The outtakes were the best! Thanks for all the tips and tricks. I learned a lot and I am anxious for the new show.

  84. Thank you guys! Scott grate explanation about exposure compensation.
    Again Thank you.

  85. Scott, Matt, Brad…you are Nikon shooters GO TO GUYS! As many have said..DTownTV became a weekly fix on how to use our gear! It’s VERY hard to get anybody to come to your site unless you deliver content we have to have. DTownTV delivered. Great job! Can’t wait for the new show…

  86. JM says:

Sorry to see this show go, but already looking forward to the new one. I can’t remember one episode of DTown where I didn’t have an “ah ha” moment.
    Best of luck.
    J

  87. william says:

I’m hopeless! what I’m going to do without your tips? wait for a month? man I won’t survive!!! LOL!!! thank you for the great job!!

  88. Bob Shank says:

In a world where Canon is so popular, I enjoyed a show dedicated exclusively to us Nikon shooters. Each week I couldn’t wait for Thursday to download the newest edition and watch it. I was never, not once, disappointed. The series on flash photography and lenses were definitely two of my favorites and ones I go back to time and time again. I am disappointed that this was the final episode and hope that Nikon is too. Forgive me while I go off and whimper a little bit to mourn the ending of such a great show. This is definitely a sad day.

  89. Al says:

You got me addicted and now you are taking my weekly fix away !!!??? NOOOOOO………

Looking forwarded to what your new show has to offer…..Why did you decide to stop Dtown TV anyway ??

  90. Edwin A. Rivers says:

It saddened me to hear that episode 24 was the end of D-Town TV. Although a seasoned film shooter, my recent, and somewhat reluctant, conversion to digital was made less traumatic with the help of D-Town TV, your fine books and inspirational lectures. Scott, Matt, thanks for all you do, and I look forward to sharing your next adventure. Good luck.

  91. Mike Wharton says:

Let me add my thanks to you for a fantastic series of podcasts. I will be using them for some time to come as a great reference.

    Thanks from Mike

  92. Poppi says:

Hey, thanks guys. You’ve encouraged me to step out of my Auto, safety zone, and explore the other settings like P (program). You’ve given me food for thought when it comes to the ‘blinkies’. And I’ve even explored the +/- of stepping down or increasing in thirds to eliminate the blinkies. I’m looking forward to the new season. Kudos to all who had a hand in this project.

  93. Suzanne says:

Thanks so much for this series! Enjoyed the outtakes also..Will be looking forward to your return. I would like to see some photo set ups…Take a photo, then show us how you did it from …how far you stood to what were the settings, the considerations you went through, lighting placements if used, etc….thanks so much…learned a lot!

  94. [...] In the mean time, catch the final episode of DTownTV here. [...]

  97. John says:

Thank you so much for all the good stuff you bring us!!! That goes to all the people behind this site. Really enjoy the shows and you two “anchormen” handles the tv-format very vell. Looking forward to the new shows and also to get a copy of your new book Scott!

I’m happy to be a Nikon shooter with resources like this!

    Kind regards from Norway

  98. Martin says:

Little correction about EV compensation in manual mode:
EV correction DOES affect exposure measuring, therefore it affects M mode, as long as one decided to use internal meter. EV correction DOES NOT actual aperture and time settings.

  99. Martin says:

    Great show, thanks.

  100. Tiago N says:

Hi, Scott, Matt, and the production team, thx so much for DTown TV, this is by far my favorite podcast, I enjoy Photoshop TV, but not close to as much as this. I have learned so much in a few weeks, and not only what I can do with my camera, but what I cant. I have a D60, I seen so many cool features that I wish I had, that I am getting a D300s as soon as they are out or am back in the US.
i am not sure what you guys are planning, but I hope that with all the comments its a Nikon weekly show with Matt and Scott (maybe get the canadian, dave, to show up once in awhile) :P

  101. [...] TV, der wöchentliche Videopodcast für Nikon Fotografen hat leider Schluß gemacht und mit der 24. Episode die letzte Folge ausgestrahlt. Scott Kelby und Matt Kloskowsky haben in den 24. Folgen sehr [...]

  102. thom says:

Sorry to see this podcast ending. I learned alot and can’t wait till you return with the new show..

  103. Mitch says:

Sorry to see you guys go, but looking forward to new show in a couple of weeks !!

    Thanx again !

  104. David says:

Well I really looked forward every week to DTown since I discovered it a couple of months ago. I found that the show was imformative and really did help bring my photograghy to a higher level. I also appreciated that you really tried your best to include all Nikon DSLR users and not just the guys with top pro cameras. I also did appreciate that it was concise and to the point. Once again a really great job. But I am looking forward to your new show and I plan to review certain episodes of DTown.

  105. Dave says:

That is a bummer..I like having a Nikon directed podcast..I have learned a lot of cool tricks..I am not really sure what the deal is?

    Dave

  106. Dave says:

    don’t go?

  107. Vern Rogers says:

Just a note about the 18-200 VR. If you check, you will find that the older version of the 18-200 already has VR II. That in the new version may be an improved version but it isn’t new to the lens. I recall a test report in Pop Photo when the orginal 18-200 came out mentioning that it benefits from up to four stops advantage by means of VR II. Also, I recall that it had the newer VR II when I bought mine.

Just wanted to call that to your attention.

    Vern Rogers

  108. Really really really dissapointed to see D-Town TV end, it’s a great show and there was sooo much left to cover. I’ve been watching since the beginning, my Thursday’s will be boring Thursday’s once again now that D Town is done.

  109. Asit says:

    Hi Guys
Will miss the show but good to know that you ll be back in few weeks. I really liked this show and it has been very instrumental in shaping my photography skills and also increasing my camera vocab.
    Keep up the good work

  110. Mike Caine says:

It’s going to be a Canon version of the show, I can feel it! :-)

  111. thanks for these very nice shows, we love that… and we love you !
    Greez from Belgium, Europe !

  112. David Duval says:

I have been recording the pod casts of DTown TV from the initial episode in iTunes on my computer. If I leave things alone, will the new show start recording where the old one left off? I would hate to miss ANY of the episodes.

  113. Scotty says:

…i’m canon-user – i loved watching your weekly show – you are so great guys – thank you so much !!!

  114. Mark says:

A new DSLR show? Well, as long as you maintain the high standards that you did for D-Town, I guess I am willing to share your knowledge with Canon users.

  115. kevin says:

This is the 2nd of my short list of beloved podcasts to throw in the towel, in just the last week or two. WTF!!??!? Are podcasts dying?

  116. John C says:

Hey, sucks to see you guys go. Hope the next planned show is as good or better!

  117. Tony Flemin says:

I hope you are thinking about 1HR show!
    I love your webcast!!!
I like to see more software/hardware HOW-TO’s so everyone can learn something new.
I will watch your new show!
TAHNKS TO YOU ALL FOR YOUR GREAT WORK!

  118. Maerten says:

Thank you guys! I really learned a lot from you. Hope to see you again soon.

    grtz from Holland

  119. Erick P. says:

Congrats (great run) on the “final episode” and looking forward to the new show!

  120. David says:

I am certain that this is another conspiracy and as soon as i figure it
    out you will be exposed.

    Thanks
    David

  121. David Levin says:

I always looked forward to seeing each show each week, and it will be too bad to see this informative Nikon show go. (Thank goodness for the archives!) If there is anything I got from this series and that Nikon was aiming for, it is the desire to buy a new Nikon camera (a D300s this fall!)– and this is coming from a Canon shooter. You guys allowed me to learn some fabulous secrets from some of the very best professionals in the field. Thank you very much! And now I hope your new show will be just as great!

  122. Pablo says:

You guys are the best! I am really excited that you guys are coming out with a new show.

  123. Valerie says:

Very sad. I have learned so much about exposure, lenses, menu controls and such like from this weekly gem of a show. Who knows what else I might have learned! Manuals just aren’t the same ..

  124. Thanks for everything guys!! Can’t wait for the new show.

  125. Thanks for an excellent show, I’ve referred this show to several photogs including Canon shooters.

FWIW • Exposure Compensation does work in Manual Mode if you have Auto ISO turned on. I use it all the time with my D700 for tricky lighting situations such as live music photography.

  126. Kishore says:

This was a very good show.
    will miss this one

  127. Susan says:

I really loved this show. I learned so much about my Nikon camera. I will look forward to the new show.

  128. Tim says:

Thanks for all the great episodes.

  129. smeade says:

All I can say is I hope D-Town is being discontinued because there is something bigger and better in the works. This has been a fabulous program and I’ve enjoyed every episode. Looking forward to what’s next!

  130. Corey Jackson says:

So sad to see this end. I can’t wait for the new show. Calumet photo in Cambridge, MA let me know about this podcast and I’ve watched every episode. I hope the new show still focuses on Nikon cameras.

  131. Thanks for a great show!

  132. Pamela Seebo says:

I loved watching you guys and will miss my weekly nikon fix. I look forward to watching your next show!

  133. Juanjo (from Spain) says:

Thank you guys for your great work!!
Hope to see you again next fall with a new show.

    Greetings from Mallorca, Spain.

  134. John T says:

Watched every episode. Great show, thank you very much. Looking forward to your next outing, should be great.

  135. Egbert says:

Liked every show and learned some new things about my D300. Hope the new show will be as free as the past 24 episodes. Will be back for sure.
    Greetings from Germany

  136. AJ Johnson says:

I only found out about DTown TV a week ago and watched every episode in less than a week! I was surprised to hear that #24 was the last show. Maybe I missed it somewhere, but I did not know before tuning in. Anyway, you all have shed some light on what I can do better with my D300, and I’m so very grateful to you. I will be certain to d/l each ep to my Ipod for safe keeping and regular review.

Looking forward to what’s next and hoping it’s Nikon focused. If not, not doubt it will be great!

    “Lift as you climb”.

  137. Cihan ULUSOY says:

Thanks guys for the nice show.

However, Scott, just one plug; the exposure compensation in M mode does nothing, except compensating the flash. When we dial a plus or minus exposure compensation in M mode, it actually effects the flash exposure.

  138. Ian says:

Such a shock that this was to be the last episode. You will be missed. :-(

It was really good to have a Nikon specific podcast, and I’m glad I found it pretty early into the run. However, I can see how a more general Digital Photography podcast (if that is indeed the plan) would be popular with more photographers.

I don’t know if I was the Photography Teacher you mentioned in the episode when you re-capped on Exposure Compensation, but I think the point I was trying to make previously, was to remind people to reset the EV back to zero when you have finished taking pics in the situation you have changed the Exposure Value.

Thanks for the great shows. :-)

Looking forward to what is to come next.

  139. Courtney says:

Thanks so much for a great show! I just recently purchased my first Nikon dslr and this show was so helpful for this newbie! I am so glad I found it and am sad to see it go!

  140. prmass1 says:

Thanks for the episodes. Looking forward to future episodes. Its been great.

  141. Paul Marsh says:

I just came back from holiday to find out, to my disappointment, that DTown is ending. Thank you for the great series. I will look forward to the new show.

  142. Bill Farr says:

    Hi Guys,
Very sorry to hear the show is ending. I found it very informative and I feel I learned a huge amount about my camera settings, shooting and post processing. I look forward to the new show but, in the meantime, I will go back and rewatch the Nikon shows and pick up what I missed. I really hope you keep the old episodes available, at least for a while, so we can go back and reference them. Thanks again.

  143. Ben says:

Many many thanks for all the free information on your shows

  144. Shane says:

Hey, to everyone who worked on the show, THANK YOU! I found the pod-casts on itunes a few weeks ago and was amazed at how much I didn’t know about my D90. Thanks for all the info, tips and the Gag Reel at the end of EP-24! I’m sure everyone will be looking forward to the new show.

  145. Gary says:

Sad to see the ‘cast end. It was very well done, thanks to Scott, Matt and all the people we never saw on camera. Looking forward to the next shows. Happy Shooting!

  146. Bill A says:

Say it isn’t so!!! You guys have done a great job with each show. I’m looking forward to your new one.

BTW, Scott, I’m going to sign up soon for your training classes and am going to join NAPP as a result of what I’ve seen here.

  147. Nigel Jones says:

As a new D90 user (and first time dslr user) I loved the show. Hoping the replacement is just as good

  148. paul says:

It has all been said…. Thanks guys for an informative show. I’m sorry to see it end, but also I’m looking forward to what comes next. Great Job!

  149. Jeff says:

Hope to see it back soon.
I tell you, it makes me think that Nikon (et al) should just write a detailed manual to begin with. The fact that I have to lean stuff like this from a forum like this tells me that the manual is terrible….. and they are. Hey Nikon, write a better manual. Give several examples, be specific and long winded if needed. Tell me everything there is to know about buttons and features. By the way, the examples are important, many people will learn a lot better if you teach by showing examples.
This would be a great start to helping their customers !!

  150. Martin says:

    Dear Scott & Matt

I have learnt such a lot from you guys over the last six months and hope that it will be adieiu but not aurevoir.

  151. Stephen says:

Really enjoyed the shows every week. I was new to photography when these shows started and I learned so much from all the little tips.
Looking forward already to the new show and hope that it too will continue to teach me new things.
All the best for the new show.

  152. Jodz says:

Thanks so much for the show! I’ve learned so many things about my camera (and I thought I knew it all!). Please, please, bring it back!

  153. Pshaw-Photo says:

Withdrawal from my weekly D-Town fix has been very hard. When will the new show begin? How much longer will we have to wait? Why can’t start this week? Am I whining?

  154. Bill says:

I agree with Ian 1000%. I have used many brands of cameras but the fact that Exposure Comp does not reset to zero when you change shooting modes or even when you turn the camera OFF scares me about using it too much!! I know I will be shooting a bunch of shots…that maybe I am not looking at too closely RE: histogram etc. for some reason….and have exposure issues.

I tend to just go to manual mode and take care of it there myself with whatever setting P, A or S are using if I was not shooting manual to begin with. However if there was a menu item to reset exposure comp after camera off or some such, I might use it more. I know it shows on the LCD etc…but it is very easy to miss.

I also think the interaction of “auto iso” Iwhich I love)with all of the above would be an interesting topic but…sigh…not to be.

Looking forward to the new show!
    Bill

  155. Susie says:

I have truly enjoyed every episode. I have learned things from you two that I would have never known. I love my Nikon camera more than ever because of you. I am looking forward to your new show. Please don’t take the old ones off. I may need to review.

  156. Lilly says:

I am sad to see the show has ended!! I love your show,it was part of my weekly routine. Thanks a lot for all your great tips, I learned a lot. Please don’t remove the old shows as I always go back to watch them and review a few tips. Looking forward to watch your new show.

  157. Lew Kline says:

Great series, I’m sorry to see it go, but am looking forward to what will come soon. One exception I have regarding spot metering. If you use spot metering, it does not following the focus point around, it uses the very center of the viewfinder/screen and the percentage it uses is based on how it’s set in the camera. I have mine set to the smallest spot available, and have to meter then move and refocus (or vice versa) when using it. So, if you have your focus point set way to the right where it’s bright or shadow, and in the very center it’s the opposite, your exposure will be off. When using spot metering, one must be more careful or the photos may not be exposed correctly.

  158. Tony says:

Thank you guys so much for your wonderful series. I look forward to the next one. I just came back from a trip to the Mediterranean and applied many of your suggestions with excellent results. Thank you once again!!

  159. manny says:

hi manny again. first thursday after the last show and i thought that i would tune in just in case there was a mistake or a mis-understanding about the show going of the air. but alas it was true and dtown is of the air. i was hoping that you would go on for another 224 shows because there is so much more you guys could cover. i got a feeling that canon users must have complained and that this was all there fault. i am looking forward to your next show and i’m sure it will be just as informative. thank you manny.

  160. Andrew says:

Great shows! Diligently and faithfully followed all your episodes every week.Really benefitted a great deal.
I would like to congratulate you for your fine effort in putting up these excellent shows.Keep it up for the next series.

  161. Scott and Matt,

Can’t possibly thank you guys and Nikon enough for putting this together. It has been an AMAZING resource! I really hope that you guys and Nikon see the value in continuing something like this. There are people switching from Canon to Nikon because of this series! I’ve been a Nikon shooter for a while now, but have never come down hard on the “Nikon vs Canon” discussion. What’s made it an extrememly easy answer (when people ask which one they should get) for the past while though is the education and support you can get with shooting Nikon is second to none. Between this series (DTown TV) and the other material produced by Kelby Media (especailly the online training), it seems like you have some of the best people in the industry by your side constantly. I know that most of what is taught can be applied to Canon, but it makes life so easy to have all of this available and to be on a Nikon.

Sorry to go on and on… but I wanted to express how much your efforts are appreciated and how impactful they truly are.

    THANKS!!!

  162. Gary says:

Please come back! I love watching these every week. Don’t be like regular TV! Everytime I find a show I like, it gets cancelled (oh crap, maybe it’s me) Okay, I hate this show (if it will keep it alive!)

Thanks again for all the efforts here.

    Gary F., NAPP member

  163. Wow what a ride! What impressed me the most was how simple you kept things and how straight forward your presentation was! You also didn’t stick to the #1 and #2 Cameras in the Nikon Line, you bridged the gap for all of us on every level! If it wasn’t for your tips I might not have gotten back into wedding photography. I look forward to the Next Little idea you guys come up with!

  164. RP says:

Great show and loved every minute of it. Look forward to the next edition.

    Thanks Scott and Matt.

    Cheers,
    Rahul

  165. Joren says:

You guys are great! I love every single of your videos and i am waiting to upgrade my D90 to D300S. Keep up the good work guys!!!

    Dara

  169. Ray Casbourn says:

    Hi Guys,

Now you see……..it’s things like this (your show) and like you two together, that put Nikon at the top of the line. Nikon is still the best and also up front where it should be.

Thanks for putting the show together and looking forward to next season?

    Keep up the good work.

  170. Mikael from Sweden says:

Thanks for nice weeks. Learned a lot from you guys.

    Cheers

    Mikael

  171. MikeB says:

Just got caught up by watching the last half-dozen episodes, and learned a lot. Thanks for a great series.

But I can’t find the D-Town blog that’s referred to several times, with things such as deciphering the labels on lenses, etc. Can anyone tell me where to find it? Is it hiding in plain view?

    Mike

  172. Thanks for these 24 episodes. Looking forward to your next project.

  173. Doug says:

I just found this site and I have to say that I am sad that it is ending. Although, I am glad that Scott and Matt will be back with a new show. I am a dedicated Nikon user and this show just seamed to fit perfectly with all I do.

  174. Nigel Jones says:

Really looking forward to the new show. Suffering from dtowntv withdrawal symptoms. You did such a great job on dtown.

  175. Digitalschmigital says:

Sorry to see the show wrap, when is the replacement?

  176. philldo says:

Thanks for a great show. Looking forward to the new shop. I hope it will also cover the cameras from the other manufacturers.

  177. Richter says:

I checked that the exposure compensation actually affects the meter reading in Manual mode. Just set your setting to the correct setting according to the meter and increase or decrease the exposure compensation and you will see the effect on the meter reading. Not sure why you say it does not affect. Please advise.

  178. I´m eagerly waiting for your tutorials. When??????

  179. Joe Nowak says:

You two have done an outstanding job with this show! I have been a photographer for almost 40 years after attending photography school in the Navy, but just relatively recently went digital. Your tips on using the menu and camera settings has been very helpful to say the least! Your new upcoming show on digital photography I hope will go into detail concerning Capture NX2 and Photoshop… and maybe even into some Nik software. Thanks for putting this show together!

  180. So… does anyone else check here almost every day in hopes of some news of things to come? I miss DTown!

  181. Dianne says:

Hey Guys — I just finished watching most of the shows for the second time to refresh my brain with some of the great tips. This has been an awesome undertaking and I’m looking forward to the next DTown TV hit show. Don’t leave us hanging too long. Thanks for all of your work on this – love the informality – the responsiveness to viewers — good practical stuff. Cheers!!

  182. Matt66 says:

I just found out about this site last night.. Dang.. Its the last one! This stuff is better then all the DIY Home improvement shows and cooking shows that dominate TV. This needs to go PrimeTime!

  183. Dennis says:

You guys are killing us with suspense. It would only be “good form” to occasionally post an update as to where you guys are with the new shows.

  184. Matt Kloskowski says:

    Hi folks,
Its taken a bit longer than expected for us to put together the new show. Rest assured we’re working on it though. I’m not going to give a date because I’ll probably be wrong :) but keep an eye out here (and on http://www.scottkelby.com) and we’ll make sure we let you know all the details as soon as its ready.

Thanks for all the kind words!
    - Matt K

  185. mark says:

oh my goodness this is frustrating we don’t have the new show yet, my excitement is killing me

  186. Shardayyy says:

I am pacing back and forth waiting on a new episode.

  187. Rui says:

when is the new show up???

  188. Come on you guys give us a surprise and start it over again. We can´t wait any longer without your nikon expertise flowing over us. When????

  189. mark says:

oh my goodness, this is punishing me!

  190. Ron says:

Something went really wrong with Nikon…? The new podcast will be probably about Canon gear.

  191. Andrew says:

It appears that the shows may not be materialized after all the excitement!

  192. Matt Kloskowski says:

We’re still working on it folks. As you can see from the quote from Scott’s blog below, we have to get the new Photoshop User TV going first. As soon as that is up and running then look for the new photography show sometime after (definitely before the year 2015) :)
We’re working on it though and we’ll make sure we post here and everywhere else possible when its ready to go.

    Thanks,
    Matt K

  193. I know some people are getting a little bit antsy… but I’m just getting more and more excited for what you guys (Matt, Scott, NAPP, and whoever else is going to be involved) have in store for us. You have always set the standard for Photoshop and photography training. I can’t believe how much content you pass along for free! Thank you!!!

I know this isn’t totally under the “photography” umbrella… but if people are looking for something to keep busy… Lightroom 3 Public Beta is out! and it’s available to everyone! You don’t even have to own a previous version. Matt & Scott are at it again… passing along all you need to know about this newest version (and guess what? the content is available to us free of charge!). Here’s a link to the Lightroom 3 Public Beta Learning Center:
    http://www.photoshopuser.com/lightroom3/
…brought to us by the amazing guys at NAPP!

  194. Thanks for the show guys.

I have really enjoyed watching all the things you have put on the table so far, even though i am a Canon shooter your information has been really helpful and i look forward to see what you come up with next.

    Thanks again

  207. prmass1 says:

Scott and Matt you both did a great job. You got people speaking in tongues.

  208. Scott Diussa says:

Lew, what camera are you referring to when you say that the spot meter doesn’t follow the focus point? Just as an example I am quoting from a D90 manual…

“Circle is centered on current focus point, making it possible to meter off center subjects”.

The spot meter does happen to follow the focus point.

That is great news… I just finished watching all 24 shows and learned a ton! Looking forward to watching more.. I also just bought vol3 of Kelby’s book. Next step – save up to buy more equipment. I hope Nikon is kicking in on this show cuz its great advertising..

    The suspense is building!
I think Scott is busy shooting pretty models and not caring about us.

  220. mark says:

I’ve been checking everyday and night on this site but still no luck, the show became a daily routine for me though, watching episodes again and again so I need some fresh one. thanks for sharing your thoughts to us.

  221. Matt C says:

For those folks who are looking for some additional free training. Go to
http://www.photoshopusertv.com/ They don’t just talk about Photoshop. They actually have digital photography sessions. Another great site by these guys.. I am so thankful that they are doing this stuff.

  222. J L says:

Please give us something of an update as to the new show series , some of us are wondering if there is nothing coming???

  223. John C says:

Basically what your seeing is this, when your in manual mode, you control both shutter and aperture, so when you change the compensation, its not changing anything actually, but your meeting is telling you if you want to compensate the amount you put in, you need to change your settings again to get the meter to be correct based on the compensation entered. But just by changing the compensation, you will not change the exposure in any way.

    Hope this helps

  224. J says:

  225. Ty McClellan says:

same here. i want to see it sooo badly.

  226. J says:

    FYI from Scott’s blog,

“Also, Matt Kloskowski and I are launching a new digital photography show as well (the one that’s taking the place of D-Town), and it’ll be up and running right after we get the new and improved Photoshop User TV on the air. Lots of really cool stuff coming up”

  227. steve says:
